  2. This is a on going stupid conversation. Adam , how do I do poll to see if members think Bearfan or Dan Jeremiah, Dane Brugler, ect have more trusted opinions on player evaluations. Bearfan doesn't like that I inject other names in forming my opinion. I guarantee if I told everyone that I was smarter than known ( experts that spend all year evaluating players) no one would bother reading my posts.
  3. I say negative things sometimes. I'm speaking to a general overview of a person's responses. The majority of mine are positive. No one would conclude I'm a( look at the bad .). Pick someone on here and look at the comments in numbers, it will tell you what side of the spectrum they belong. Mostly negative outlooks or like me mainly positive. I was just making an observation on Adam, he goes both ways.
  4. I expect this year to be different from last year plus we have the coach that put that offense in the position to flourish. We don't know what to expect from any of our WRs, TEs, or RBs with Johnson pulling the trigger. I'm optimistic it's going to go well . I wasn't comparing one player to another player, just the overview of the offense.

That could happen but with great coaches, upgraded roster and a 5 star QB, you think we are going to have losing seasons going forward? That's the only way he's getting fired.
  6. Leaving OL out of the equation, they have three mismatch players on offense and we have one.

Yes hard to speak to actions we don't know anything about. Newman also mentioned he came in for a 30 visit that no one reported. That in itself is odd if they tried to hide those things . Pre draft visits doesn't mean we draft them or not but the year before had 4 of 5 draftees having visits. So it's just something to look at. They met with Loveland at the pro day and don't know if he came here or not. They didn't expect Burden to be there so they didn't have a reason to previsit. Since we didn't get any indication who they wanted or didn't want, easy to speculate on anything.

SO true. One thing I do know is that Johnson knows the answers to all of this. He knows if Poles did well or poorly in the draft. And he has enough juice int he building to do something about it if necessary. Johnson did make one comment, that I read as a backhanded compliment about Poles being more disciplined on the draft board than anyone hes ever seen. Meaning he wouldnt budge to reach for someone at all. Maybe that was admiration, or maybe it was surprise that he let himself get fleeced on players getting picked before us. I cant possibly know, but Johnson does, and if it's an issue, he will get it corrected Im not predicting this, but I wouldn't be shocked if Poles is fired in the next couple of years and someone Johnson likes comes in to replace him.
  10. I am saying, you seem to think our opinions come from a place of loving or hating. Cant it just be that we see some positive things and some negative things? You seem to defend every player because theyre on the team. Youre loyal to them. Thats a good trait in general. Its good to have friends like that. But if we think a player is weak and the team would be better with a replacement, thats not being a negative nelly., its just an opinion that comes from wanting the Bears to be good. People like some things and dislike others - its not a personality flaw - it's just sports talk.
  11. Im saying you dont read what i write and instead respond to things I didnt say. Also, invoking experts is FINE, saying that they are experts and we cant know because we are just fans is the problem. Anything that is an opinion is fine. Anything that is presented as factual, is up for debate on the merits. As for the worse insults, that wasnt because we were disagreeing, it was because of the way you were speaking to me then. You havent done anything like that since, so its all good. And yes, I would LOVE to not be in a "feud" with you. Thats really the truth. When we agree I always go out of my way to say so. I would prefer mutual respect, i really would. But sometimes we see things very differently, and that's OK, and then we disagree. But when you try to "prove" things, and the logic isnt sound thats usually where the disagreements come from. And all thats OK. Nothing about the way weve been speaking to eachother since back then has been inappropriate, so Im not angry about any of it.
  12. if we can learn anything it would be truly fascinating. I wonder if they would allow any info out, but I agree id love to see it.

  14. . . . The Bears behind the scenes draft video this year. I’m assuming they do one because they do such a good job and they are really popular. But there’s so much speculation about the Bears getting sniped on their picks, like wanting Kelvin Banks or Treyveon Henderson, or Cam Skattebo. Are we going to be able to use Bright in the videos? Will they cut around it? Was it all fake news and it turns out they got guys they actually targeted? Eagerly waiting for it to drop.

I'm definitely interested in someone figuring out why no one knew about half the 30 visits that the Bears had. Seems like most of the guys they took said in their media roundups that they had 30 visits with the Bears, and yet literally none of them were reported. How does that happen, exactly? Did Poles actually tell people to keep quiet or try not to have certain visits publicized, even if it wa a projected day three pick? is the Bears beat just not keeping tabs? And why did some get publicized and some didn't? And it even seems like there were some that were reported, like Tyler Warren, but then Greg Gabriel said it didn't actually take place. Seems like Burden didn't even come in for a visit but ended up being the pick in the second round. And yet another guy like Ruben Hyppolite, who wasn't even projected to be picked by a lot of people, had a 30 visit and yet no one reported it. Hard to believe keeping that quiet was necessary but maybe it was. I don't think there were reports on TreVeon Henderson coming in for a visit, and yet a lot of people seem to think he was the pick in the second round before the Pats took him one pikc ahead of the Bears. So, was he a target or wasn't he? Very strange to try to sort through after the fact.
  16. I didn't like who or when either. We just don't know if they screwed up or not. I do like the 1st 4 picks and Monongai. As contributors early in the year.
  17. I was referring to the overall numbers of players Caleb has with quality traits. And it's an opinion. You disagree, it's okay. We don't have Gibbs but that doesn't mean we can't have an effective running game. Williams has speed that is unique to the league but we have ( projection) 3 quality WRs and 2 quality TEs and ( I could be wrong about this) a better QB.
  18. You just keep it up, I was responding to Adam and you have to throw your bullshit into the conversation that has nothing to do about football.

That's inherently the problem, one pundit puts it out there and everyone jumps on it like it's true. We will never know but , in the past, if Poles wanted someone he would trade around to get him. Last year the war room video shows him being nervous about Rome not being there and wanted to trade up and Cunningham talked him out of it. Poles doesn't leak information, ever. This draft proves that, you were the only one that had a name we drafted, Burden. Everyone was thinking we might take Warren at 10 , bingo Loveland. no one knows for sure but we didn't trade up. Poles would have did a Pace move and given up a ton if he really wanted him.
  20. No that's just you being you. You always say ( I don't mean it to sound like an insult ) right before you insult me. I have accepted your insults a long time ago. When I give my opinion I don't have the ego to insult people's intelligentence by saying my view of a player is better than well respected football pundits. Other people bring the same people up when talking about players but I'm drunk because you keep repeating to nausea on a point but I don't understand. You are not the only person on this thread. Other people are not going to pay attention to my posts if I don't support them with experts opinions that they respect. I don't care if you do. Banks was the 3rd T taken in a weak LT draft. The point of my talking about him was always , I didn't think the bears are taking him. A lot of my posts aren't always constructed well because being 12 hours different in time, Im looking at stuff in the middle of the night when I go to the bathroom. My brain isn't functioning quite well in brief comment moments. I told you ( I don't like you) was just being honest. Your response was ( I don't dislike you) is bullshit. I will say your insults are much better now than the ( you're a pedophile ) because I live in Thailand during the winter.
  21. What if we just have opinions, positive and negative, and that doesnt mean our entire outlook is positive or negative? What if we just really love the Bears and every comment isnt evidence of a pattern that we have some kind of personality?
  22. I'll take that. I like this thread better when you're around. You put up a lot of content. One day you're Peter positive and another day Nikki negative. I think one player ( have no idea who) becomes Caleb's favorite target. I think Kmet and Burden have more contributions. They will have the least talented DBs on them so will be open more.
  23. Williams 395-580, 68.1%, 4490 yds, 7.7 Y/A, 31 TD, 8 INT Moore 85-930 yds, 8 TD Odunze 75-960 yds, 5 TD Loveland 70-790 yds, 7 TD (top 5 rookie TE season) Burden 65-880 yds, 4 TD (top WR3 in NFL) Kmet 50-480 yds, 4 TD Swift 30-250 yds, 1 TD Others 20-200 yds, 2 TD Williams' numbers would put him 4th in completions, attempts, and yards, 6th in TDs, 5th in INTs, 8th in Y/A, and 9th in Comp%. All of these are completely scientific and can't be disputed until they are incorrect after the season.
  24. I AM NOT GREAT AT LOOKING AT TAPE. Ive said it a thousand times. i think if ANYONE looked at the tape they would see the same things I see. And I dont have a thousand opinions from looking at tape. Just a couple. A couple of things stood out to me. I am not saying I am the greatest evaluator, Im just saying that for example Banks looked really good on tape and I didnt understand people like Brugler who had him going in the 20s. What I was saying was that every time you negated my opinion, or a lot of other people's here, you did it by invoking the great and powerful Brugler. As if he was the final word. And he isnt. Hes just another opinion. I was saying stop telling us all that your source knows and we cant possibly because we are just fans. If that was true, then shut down this board and we can all read Brugler. What is so hard about that? As to your other point that the Banks pick was "mute" (the word is moot) I said I KNEW that he was good - and his selection at 9 proved that i was right. But I also didnt know if the Bears would pick him at 10 or not. You misread that, like so many things I say, that I was saying the Bears WOULD have taken him, when actually in all humility, I was saying that I couldnt possibly know that. Seriously, do you read these posts and post when youre drunk? Im not being mean, Im actually asking.
  25. False. We don't have a Gibbs or Williams. What we have extra isn't that scary.
  26. I agree. Still can't approve of using our 4th round pick the way we did, though.
  27. We easily have more firepower than Lions had last year on an offense that scored 70 TDs. If Caleb is up to the task, he should be closer to 5000 than 4000 with 30+ TDs. Johnson said the offense will run thru Caleb but a running game will complent it. Let me be the first to say Monangai will end up a fan favorite. Because of disappointment on a well known name and as a late round pick, he is being dismissed. I'm not. I heard some people use Deboo Samuel as a comparison to Luther Burden that averaged 50 carries a year. We have plenty of ammunition to have a good running game.
