  1. Past hour
  2. Burden has a lot to learn, but if he's down for it, the sky's the limit. He has the skill set to become the Bears best WR. He could be this years Malik Nabers. I hope this puts Odunze on notice and he rises to the challenge. All of this hinges in Caleb being able to be accurate and not holding the ball too long.

  4. Actually Poles said things would start off with Trapilo at LT, and the three of them would compete. He didnt rule out moving Wright, but i think we all hope that someone emerges from the three to start at LT and Wright doesnt have to move!

Poles said that Wright was not moving and would stick to RT and Trapilo would stick to the left, which implied that he would be competing with others for that spot.
  6. Agreed. The rest of our division plays it the same. Rumor has it that we are in the best division...
  7. With the talent we have and the coach, we have to have a winning record or it's a failed year. Probably means Caleb didn't get better.
  8. They are checking out what's available but I don't think they sign anybody until they get a feel of what they have. They could give Williams a vet contact with no guaranteed money. Just to play it safe but they are at their limit of 90 , they would have to cut someone.

What approach? I've been traveling, what did I miss. I watched a ESPN video interviewing Poles and it sounded like he dismissed moving Wright to LT.
  10. Burden has a bigger upside than Rome Odunze does. I think both are going to be very good. Adam posted some stats that seem realistic but Burden will have more TDs.
  11. Another hot take, Burden will have a better career at WR than Travis Hunter.

I am glad they are taking this approach with Wright. This also should light a fire under Braxton's ass and if not, he gone. Trapilo has a real shot at this as long as the learning curve isn't too much for him.
  13. I mentioned him in another thread as making a lot of sense considering his time with Johnson AND Swift.
  14. I'd take Williams, he had 17 tds with Johnson in 2022. He is a big back, 6-1 225. We have sonic and need a real boom.
  15. Nothing final. Between him and Chubb who would you prefer? I doubt either will break the bank. Not sure we need either but depth at the position will keep everyone fresher throughout the season.
  16. I didn't know where to put this so I put it here. The bears met with Jamal Williams that played for Johnson when Swift was there. I haven't seen if they signed him, I've been traveling the last few days.
  17. The bears had Jeanty in for a 30 visit so it was obvious they were interested in him. He was rated one of the top 3 players in the draft. That's not inside information. They could like him more than both OTs because they weren't true LTs. This is a moot point because Jeanty was taken and they didn't move up to draft him and they picked Loveland. So no inside information. Show me an example of something she reported before anyone else which would indicate inside information. I can't find anything.

Stromberg was a good prospect when he was drafted. Injuries have slowed his progress but he could be the next OC once Dalman leaves.

  20. Isn't it nice, even though we had to buy 3 out of 5. We are at least collecting some young talent to develop and Roushar is a good guy to coach them. If he can get Braxton, Kiran, or Tripilo to become a good LT, we have the cornerstones. Finding the keystone, or center might be a need before 2027 when cutting Dahlman can save 12 million in cap with only 2 mil dead. We might have that player in Stromberg or Newman, but it seems the great teams have a really good C.
  21. She's the best out there...
  22. well said. Roushar should be a godsend for us.

Wow down to a single weak link on the Oline. I hope that’s all we’re dealing with because it will be a massive change from the jail breaks we’ve seen the last few years. FWIW our new center has the exact same issue as Braxton with bull rushes so time will tell. Hopefully the new Oline coach can help both of them fix it.
  24. no, when she is giving opinions, she uses words like "I think" etc - she absolutely has many sources inside many NFL teams. She is a reporter, and when she says things as facts, she has definitely heard that information from a credible source. She named Jeff King, director of player personel for the Bears as one of them, who confirmed a bunch of this.
  25. He has a lot of work to do just to get his original strength back before surgery. Regardless of who starts at LT, defenses will see that as a weak link to attack the QB. Until the Bears show they can protect that, teams will try to exploit that gap.
  26. She doesn't have inside information, just guesses like anyone else. They have rated him higher but doesn't a trade was out there.

At this point, Braxton is an average starting LT in the NFL. They need more out of him. They added competition in case he doesn't. If they seriously thought they had to replace him, it would have done at 10. With a bad LT class they felt no one was still there that was that much better. He's the starter if not available, Kiran A will be the guy. Then the rookie gets his chance.

It's true about Braxton getting dog walked. More weight, better coaching and effort in the weight room can clean it up. There was a lot of talk about the last staff not holding players accountable in the weight room. The bigs sometimes need a little kick in the pants, especially when it comes to working out.
