I think the concept of being on a SB bound team may keep him here on a user friendly deal. He's not a tier one so no one is giving him that kind of money. I would give him a 2 year extension with the last year voidable to get this years cap space down. 27-28 are cap friendly years before we have to pay Caleb.

So Swift is definitely replaceable, he is not the best back possible, but replacing him would require some resources, and Swift is doing a pretty good job for us. He surely had a much better season that i thought was possible during the preseason. I feel like Bienemy unlocked him in ways I hadnt seen before. So I expect we will keep him this year. Maybe we will go for a free agent, but with the defensive overhaul looming, I expect Swift is here for at least this coming year.
-
Adam if you want to put that together, I'll take a 100 share.
-
I have to wait until I get home anyway. I'll do a search to find the best odds. +200 is +200, I'll take what I can get. After this coming year, we won't be getting big odds for a long time.

He might if he thinks he can still get one last big payday after the extension expires. Or if he wants a shot at winning superbowl, maybe he takes less. On another note, David Montgomery has expressed he'd like out of Detroit. It would be a good story if he came back but a) looking at ways to create cap and b) him and Monangua are both thunder guys.
-
I Think at best I’d give him a 2 year extension. One I could get out of in the last year if I want to.
-
That is true, BJs motto is you have to block to get the rock. Speaking of pass pro, the oline kicked butt: Thuney #2 IOL, Wright #4 OT, Dalman #8 IOL, and Jackson #12 IOL. The Bears will need to shake some cap. Swift can be a extension candidate, but doubtful he does this to lessen his pay when guys like Breece Hall are expected to get 10 mil/year for 4. Swifts 8.8 mil is modest next year. My guess is he would look for 4 years to finish his career with another big pay.

Swift was very good in pass pro last year. Bears fans don’t see it on a stat sheet so assume a rookie will just come in and do the same. Even Monangai struggled at times but I expect he’ll be better this year. I don’t expect Ben, who loves explosive plays, to put his QBs protection at risk.
-
Yup. We could pool our money and do a group bet.
-
Drake Maye really got exposed. Looking at some of the analysis, all SEA did was take away his first read and shade to his outlet, and he didn't know what to do. Pretty damning. He may regress more than I am expecting.
-
I saw a cap show on TTNL with "Cars" their cap guy, and he explained how they could pretty easily open up $65M in the cap by only adding a single void year to DJ (and keeping him) - we havent done any of those kind of deals yet, so we have room
-
They have a plan, it could be Wright with Theo on the right but Kiran is a wildcard as to his future but what if it happens? Or draft one.
-
I'm going to place a bet, I saw +2500 for the bears to win the SB That's worth 50 to me.
-
Those are all likely and think they may resturture Swift to create more money. Could we get by with Monangai as lead back? I think so. A late round speedster as the second back could do it. Will Johnson be cut or healthy as a third back? Only time will tell. I seen people say sign Walker, a oft injured player being high priced off of a SB. No
-
First place schedule and a maxed out cap. How much do the Bears restructure and make future years tighter. Edmunds cut gives them operating money, 15 mil, for draft and emergency. Restructure Moore for 17 mil, but if so expect him to be around at least two more years. Might not be popular, but a Swift cutting frees up 7.5 mil and they could draft a guy rd 3 or 4 to replace him while signing a vet.
-
Another option for LT that we hear yearly is Darnell Wright. Yes, its better to leave him alone, but its an option. The list is Benedict, Kiran, Thuney, and Wright until Trapilo is healthy enough to return. Does using another high pick make sense? They won't know much about Kiran until after the draft that they dont already know. You'd think a light turns on eventually.

Odds are out for next year's Superbowl. Vegas has us missing the playoffs.
-
Yeah, NE is decent, but lucked into their schedule and overall a weak AFC. We might have played Sea better, but have a ways to go yet before being favored. The Bears were very lucky as well. Those 7 come backs could have went the other way and the tone is different. They need to make some big improvements just to pass up GB and Det. Don't expect GB to be a push over. Then even tougher is the NFC west.
-
Defense took the day for sure but I would bet my house we scored more points against Seattle than NE did. We are on the right track. If we get 100% health of JJ, Gordon, and Terrell Smith. Plus our starting LBs and we are already better. A healthy Turner, Dayo and a whole year of Jarrett at 100% may help the DL but we clearly have to add more on the DL. We need better depth because we are never going to have complete health.

One take away from the game is Defense still wins with a great running game. Darnold, a mediocre plus QB with those two factors can win. This is not saying a great QB cannot. The Bears need to get their defense upgraded and eventually a top tier RB that can take control of the game. This somewhat says 2 years out, but anything can happen.

I agree with this. I didnt walk away thinking Bad Bunny was a great musician - I always love Raggaeton beats, but he didnt invent that or anything. The producers of the show did an amazing job. Like you say, the staging and all was exceptional. And i am glad they didnt lecture or make it political (much) but its not like Im gonna stream Bad Bunny any time soon either.

Drake Maye just finished off the worst stretch of games in playoff history for a quarterback to make it to a Superbowl. 21 sacks, 7 fumbles are both NFL records. The Patriots came into the game already having scored the fewest combined points of any SB team during their playoff run. Turns out, conventional wisdom won the day. Patriots were schedule merchants throughout the regular season and rode an extremely fortuitous stretch of injury luck in the playoffs all the way to a Superbowl they really had no business being in. Also, Will Cambell's arms are too freakin short to play LT.

As far as the game goes I was hoping no team scored a TD just making it ironic having changed the rules to favor offense. Maye is the second best QB of that year but had a bad game and we have the best and will be in a SB in the next two years. IMO I didn't know if we could have beaten Seattle this year but definitely think we would have beaten NE.
