  1. Today
  2. A lot of people are complaining but, like you, most winnable games are early giving us time to grow and get our act together . I dont like 4 of 6 games on the road at the end of the season but that is out of our control.
  3. Well the Bears' schedule has been released, and we don't play ANY divisional games until the last 9 weeks of the season. That's kind of amazing, because it gives Williams time to grow before he fights for a playoff berth. I haven't looked at any other teams yet, but maybe the NFL is pushing divisional games later int he year on purpose so playoff hopes stay alive as long as possible for each team, or maybe the Bears just got lucky, or are being helped by the league (less likely!) Whatever it is, it's good news for us this year.
  4. We lose to Texans,Rams,SF and go 3-3 in the division. 11-6. Now if CW has a Stroud type year, then we beat the Rams and go 4-2 in the division, 13-4. I'm an optimist, now is the best time to react crazy.
  5. For someone that made 10 mil while in college, if he has a great start, I can see him in his third season wanting the money . So much for a 5 year rookie contract.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Ozzy, the guy dropping the rumors dropped the GB games and has us playing GB the last game in GB.
  8. Titans would be fine but prefer on the road because lots of Bears fans are crazy. I had season tickets for 2 yrs and if thinks look bad starting out, hell will erupt at the stadium.
  9. Last time we were there, it was against the chargers. Mitch was QB and drove us to a last second game winning field goal attempt. The guys behind were all negative, saying Parkey was going to blow the 40 yarder. It pissed me off because we spent a lot of money to be on the fifth row and we didn't wanna hear that crap. Parkey doinked it off the upright and I wanted to kill those people. They weren't the only ones. If you go to GB or Indy, the fans are never like that.
  10. Titans it is. Week 1: vs Titans Week 4: vs Rams Week 5: vs Panthers Week 6: vs Jaguars (London) Week 10: vs Patriots Week 11: vs Packers Week 12: vs Vikings Week 16: vs Lions Week 17: vs Seahawks
  11. I think when the boo birds come out, it is more on the play selections lately. I can't think of a player they would have booed. I remember Urlacher being upset when fans booed, which was probably poor oline and play calls.
  12. there is nothing better than having a QB who is worth that top salary. If that happens, we should be happy indeed! Also, maybe Williams will take a page from Tom Brady's plan and take less than he is worth so they can still afford a team around him, which results in more wins, and more SB wins means more $ in endorsements too?
  13. Yes, and with the escalating QB salaries, it will be for more than 100M per year.
  14. You may be on to something. My experience at Soldier Field has been very negative. Jackass fans would probably boo Caleb on the first three and out. I think Bears fans are extremely loyal, but probably the least positive in the league.
  15. There was a lot of Justin Fields activity on X yesterday. I thought it would be negative because of the Foles comments but surprisenly it was Pittsburgh fans posting highlights of JF doing the love. I know this is crazy but sometimes I am. Wouldnt it be ironic if Pitt and the Bears met in the SB and it was JF against CW. I wonder what odds would be on that bet?
  16. I think playing Washington on the road would be a good option. Not very good, getting away would get away from the fanfare of the first game. Its going to be crszy with expectations. Our defense is nearly complete and should start strong, it will take some time for the offense to get up to speed, Of the teams mentioned, Washington was the worst rushing defense (5th ) and we will come out running.
  17. Luck definity involved but Poles took the chances to improve and it worked out. If CW plays great his first 2 yrs does he then want a new contract?
  18. Last week
  19. I totally agree that he is brash and that doesnt fit well if your results are mediocre. The other side of the argument is that his floor is probably pretty high, so even if he doesn't end up great, he might still be pretty good. I dont want to see that though. Im here for a team that dominates, and it seems like the stars have aligned to give us a good shot at that. Go Bears!
  20. Thanks for the list. I'll take a home game against Titans, Patriots or Panthers...
  21. Williams is either going to bust or be really good. I say that because the stories seem to imply he has that Kobe-esque work ethic. Like he flat out puts in the work when he's out there and has a desire to be great, not good, not merely okay, not above average, but ELITE. That drive is going to rub some the wrong way and it could blow up in his face if he struggles and rubs people wrong way getting mad or whatever -> but channeled right - it could lead to true greatness.
  22. I had heard some comments about that and I think field(s) might have even implied that. I think it was more a subtle component that sometimes having a vet QB around isn't a good thing. In this case - I'm going to presume some truth to both sides of the equation, I also don't think Field(s) looking at his phone in this scenario is why he didn't end up being good either. For whatever reason he just couldn't make that leap during his time with the Bears -> I don't expet him to with the Steelers but his raw tools are still tantalizing and I do believe even if he can't make a material leap, he can still make modest progress in that area and that is good enough to be a mediocre starting QB in this league.
  23. they sure are. and people pay for what you might become too, because having that franchise QB is what the league is all about, and there arent really very many of them in the world. Certainly not enough for every team to have one. We sure got lucky with Lovie winning that last second TD, getting the first pick overall and the Poles masterfully turning that into a haul and lucking into the first pick this year and having Williams be there this year.
  24. agree. no matter what happened with Justin, or what was his fault, it's on the coaches and GM to create and maintain the culture they need. If you cant control your players it means you are kind of scared of them, and that speaks to a lack of leadership ability in the coaches and GM. It is possible that they decided to cut Justin loose years ago, and just rode with him while they built the roster. But then the hugs, and the effusive praise wouldnt fit that narrative. So I guess they didnt think they could control him but still wanted to keep and develop him. Strange, because those are contradictory ideas. In any case, Williams seems to be all in on succeeding, and at least at this point seems to be taking coaching well.
  25. I heard this a long time ago but cannot pinpoint when. I didn't know what it was but he didn't listen or take coaching from Dalton well. That is today's culture though, people look at their phones on average every 6 minutes. If it was a problem, that is on the Bears for allowing cell phones.
