Guessing we'll be somewhere around 10th with a 6-10 record. Shouldn't deviate much from that. Having said that, it's time to start thinking about the draft. Here's my first go at a mock. 1. , DE, Ole Miss - Great fit for the D. Has all the measurables. Crazy speed, explosion, quick-twitch. He could be a nightmare pass-rusher for the Bears. 2. , ILB, Arizona - The Bears need a tackling-machine in the middle. Conveniently, Scooby can run sideline to sideline as well as rush the passer, and he has a great nose for the ball. He'd be a versatile player for Fangio. 3. , FS, Clemson - Add him to my man-crush list. Huge, rangy, great instincts, great …

  3. i usually wouldn't comment on this but wow.... was that a disgustingly stupid game. i'm not a big steelers fan and was going for the bengels but changed my mind by the time it was over. cinncy deserved to lose. from the idiot fans in the stands to the imbeciles on the field it was a black eye to the entire NFL. take in mind i detest rapesemburger but puleaase, it was bad enough cheering the injury but pelting any injured player being carted off the field with half full water bottles? that i don't believe i have ever seen. shame on the bengel fans, you are completely without class. may it be another 20 + years before you win a playoff game. and just how…

Of the 76 kicker/punters in the database, Gould finished 75th (in terms of Value-Added) with a -13.4 and O'Donnell finished 42nd with a -1.6. The part that most were concerned with was Gould's kickoffs and that was clearly illustrated in this database as he finished dead last in that category. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-ha...on-nfl-kickers/ So with a cap hit of $4.1mil next year, is Kicker an area we need to address this offseason? Gould has the 3rd highest average salary for a Kicker (behind Gostkowski and Janikowski).

Scanning names in FA and noticed Ian Williams FA NT from the 49ers. 65 tackles last season puts him ahead of Wilkerson. He's not a pass rusher but that kind of productivity inside would have made him him our best Dlinemen last year. For comparison Malik Jackson had 45 total tackles. Williams started his career with the 49ers as UDFA and worked his way up. Certainly Fangio would have some experience working with him. We might be seeing one of Williams or Damon Harrison from the Jets (he had 72 combined tackles last year). Goldman moved out to DE could be quite effective with interior pressure. We'd still need some interior pass rush help but we could priorit…

  9. Marc Mariani - WR - Bears At least four teams have shown interest in free agent WR Marc Mariani. Chicago is one of those teams. Mariani was forced into a bigger role last year because of injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal. He managed 22 catches for 300 yards over the course of 535 offensive snaps. Even in a thin wide receiver market, it shouldn't cost the Bears much to keep him.

I'm curious who teams are talking to and at NFL.com they show us having spoken with 10 players (I'm sure it's much higher than that) but on that list 5 are WRs. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000064...ayers-nfl-teams Then what traits are we looking at? Most are bigger WRs with the exception being Coleman. Devon Cajuste stood out to me because at 6'4" and 235lbs he's pretty close to what Zach Miller does for us. Reportedly Cajuste does not have the quickness needed off the line to get separation from CBs, but he has good enough speed against LBs. He'll need time to gain strength and learn blocking but he has the hands you want. He originally went to S…

First, I love seeing my favorite game gaining popularity in other nations. This guy has all the measurable you want at WR, or maybe at TE. I watched the highlight film and felt he would make a better move-TE than WR because his first step seems a bit slow. Then I see that he ran a 6.65 3-cone drill at his pro day. Those two don't match up IMO but we have to consider his highlights are most likely just him playing in Germany without the benefits of advanced training like he has been receiving in the last few months. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000064...er-on-nfl-radar FWIW the self-proclaimed best player in the draft, Jalen Ramsey, ran a 6.9…

What high risk, high reward players are you hoping the Bears take a chance on? A few that come to mind: Robert Nkemdiche Shawn Oakman Moretz Boeringer Rashard Robinson Any others that you're thinking about?

Can anybody explain the Sheldon Rankins love going on with people? I think he is a good player but does not fit our D scheme. I have seen several mocks having him being drafted by us in the first. Is he suppose to be Aaron Donald? His stats dont show that. Maybe he could be a smallish NT but with Goldman already here, I wouldnt understand that pick if we took him in the first.

The best situation would be either Bosa or Buckner dropping. low chance The second best scenario would be us to trade back with Tenn (looking for a OT) which would get us an extra 3rd round pick by TVC. so we trade back with Tenn and get 15th pick (choice of Reed,Lawson,Jackson III) and there 76th pick 15th pick---Lawson / I think we valve pass rushers and he has the body of McPhee and the pass rush skills of Chandler Jones. 41th pick--Cris Jones/DT is still here so we grab a starter for the DL 72nd pick-C J Prossie we definitly grab a RB and he will fit in well with our RBC 76th pick(Tenn trade) Sean Davis can play both CB or S and will start as a …

I like this draft....maybe not the players selected but the overall concept of what we need to make the Bears the Monsters of the Midway again. Fannie is getting this players like he had in SD with that great d. We got Floyd would could be the next Smith/Miller...we got Hicks and Bullard...got a LIL who played saftey (Urlacher type..not saying he will be ) a big corner....a hard hitting saftey......wow.......now all we need is a back up QB( I would sign Homer for now)and a TE.

  19. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/ta...as-been-evident Thought this was a good read. I continue to be excited what we are trying to build on the defensive side of the ball. That said, I hope we can figure out a way to find a long-term piece at QB (looking much longer term than Jay, who is fine for the next couple of years).

IIRC Zach Miller used to play around 235lbs. Judging by this photo Miller has added some sterngth over the offseason. Housler is listed at 250lbs and is just 1" taller. He said he wanted to improve as a blocker and it looks like he committed himself to that goal. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/pho...7c-d08bc5c212c5 One thing about Fox that is noticeable from past coaching staffs is his emphasis on players working with the trainers and the nutritionist. I don't know how many times I've seen Jenn Gibson mentioned regarding player's conditioning program but she is the only Sport Science Coordinator and Nutritionist I've ever heard of among the Front…
