Nice pick by Emery, surprised he fell that far. Some nice competition and depth at LB this year, and we just got a lot younger and faster.

I like how Emery is filling out this roster. He didn't bite on restructuring veterans to make more cap space. He is following a plan even though us as fans want the right now satisfaction. By this time next year, we will have at least 7 picks to load up and our cap situation should be healthy were we can continue to add or sign our own. LB is a position we were in desperate need of. Williams and Anderson are on one year contracts and Briggs is getting up there in age. I called for Ogletree/Brown in my last mock, we couldve went that route. Opinions on players selected, this draft brings foward something I am not used to see. There were two core groups with gaping needs, OL and LB. The Bears spent the first four picks selecting players for exactly those positions. There is no DE or Safety that were staples of the previous regime, depending on the 7th round to bring youth to the Ol. I like that the team this year saw needs and aggressively attacked the position. While I may or may not be excited about the players selected, Emery gets credit for not ignoring needs like the previous administration. I'm excited to see how this turns out.
