Don't look now, but even if we don't win the division, there's only 3 teams ahead of us and 2 wildcard slots. Tampa, Atlanta, & Dallas. And Dallas has a killer schedule (Philly, Giants, & Baltimore) so I would count them out, especially after last Sunday's game. Tampa and Atlanta still have to play each other so that's one guaranteed loss for one of them. Also, Atlanta plays Minny, so either Minny will win the division but help us out by beating Atanta, or Atlanta will beat Minny and help make it possible for us to retake the division. There's also other 7-6 teams, so it's still pretty unlikely, but still possible if the Bears win out. Big if, I know.

I went to a KFFL article to check out the 2009 FA Class Article and found some interesting names on the list. In regards to free agent WRs that might be available (some may have already signed extensions since this article was put up or may sign before the FA period begins): TJH from CIN I think is a true #1 WR who could start as a #1 on any team in the NFL. However, I am sure he will be well sought after and very expensive. I wonder if the Bears would persue him? Bobby Engram is obviously near the end of his career but is still a great possession WR on 3rd down situations. J. Gaffney I think is the sleeper of the bunch. He is buried behind Wes Walk…

Let's face it guys, this Bears team isn't very good. Our QB play is reasonable and we have a solid young RB. But out O Line is old, beat up and not exactly great these days. Our receivers SUCK bigtime. On D, we can't tackle. We can't seem to play 3rd down either. At times, teams run at will on us and at others, we play the run well. Our special teams aren't very special anymore. Oh, and our coaches are so vanilla it makes me sick. But that isn't what this post is about. Our guys are our guys and I love them, regardless. And if a Packers fan said anything I've said above I'd beat him senseless... But with all of our obvious flaws, we're 7-6 and stil…

Noots’ Notes-Game 13: 23-10 Win over Jacksonville By Michael Nudo The Bears treated their fans to a 23-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at a frigid (wind chills in the low single digits) Soldier Field on Sunday. The Bears made just enough plays in every aspect of a hard fought team victory to improve their record to 7-6 in the NFC North. They’re one game behind Minnesota, who eked out a 20-16 victory over winless Detroit. Coming through in the clutch (AP Photo/David Banks). OFFENSE Quarterback Kyle Orton (20-34-219, 2 TD, INT) bounced back from his worst game of the season with a solid performance. He drilled a 3-yard touchdown pass t…

With Green Bay's loss today, they are pretty much eliminated from the picture. However, we have an up hill battle to climb to overtake the Vikings. Our next three games are fairly tough games, IMO, but the Vikings have a brutal 3 game stretch with Arizona, Atlanta, and New York Giants. The biggest thing holding us back from the playoffs are ourselves. In the past four games (including today), we have only played 2 good halves, IMO. Our first half vs. the Jags today, and our first half vs. the Rams. Hell, if you think about it, our last good game was vs. the Eagles (I don't count at the Lions as they don't count as a team). I am kind of amazed how we've won 7 games al…

I'm sick of his BS. He can't run the right routes... He can't return kicks... And now he can't even field a friggen punt! He's a guy who got the big check and started to play it safe. He's a pussy! I say bench his ass for a few games until he gets his head straight. I know we don't have anything else, really, at WR, but I'm sick of Hester's lack of production. He's got no heart.

first before we start thinking draft. I sincerely think that Lovie should start with himself. If I read it right his contract stipulated that he gets more control over team decisions like personnel, coaches etc. and thats great if it's working well. But it's not, He's no "Tony Dungy" like his mentor. Lovie seems to like to surround himself with yes men. God forbid they have a thought of thinking out of the box or the Lovie way. The same could be said for Angelo to a certain point. I'm tired of the Tampa defense, Former Tampa, Ram coaches, and players or anybody related in Tampa OR St louis. It's done, over, fini, addios. His hand picked coaching staff h…

Trade our 2010 1st rounder and our 2009 4th rounder to Arizona for Anquan Boldin. We, then, give him a 5 year, $52 million deal. 1. Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma 2. Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU 3. Sam Young, OT, Notre Dame 3. (Comp. for Berrian) Patrick Chung, SS, Oregon 5. Drew Willy, QB, Buffalo Thoughts?

From Don Banks' "Snap Judgments" at cnnsi.com: By some estimates, it's going to be a double-digit year in terms of NFL head coaching changes. But if there's any silver lining to all that impending turnover, it's that teams looking for an upgrade at defensive coordinator might find an unbelievably deep buyer's market to choose from. How so? Well, consider the potential defensive coordinator prospects if there's a bloodbath in the head coaching ranks: Wade Phillips, Romeo Crennel, Marvin Lewis, Rod Marinelli, Jim Haslett, Dick Jauron, Herman Edwards and Mike Singletary are all ex-defensive coaches who are thought to be in varying degrees of jeopardy. And then…

INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8) at Chicago Bears (6-6) By Michael Nudo ________________________________________________________________________________ ____ Injuries on the offensive line have severely limited the Jaguars’ offense (Getty images/Streeter Lecka). BEARS OFFENSE vs. JAGUARS DEFENSE Kyle Orton has struggled (41-83-417 3 TD, 3 INT) in the three games since his return from a high ankle sprain. He appeared to be moving around in the pocket better last week, but had a difficult time with both accuracy and decision making. Fullback Jason McKie (quadriceps) missed last week’s game. He was replaced by Jason Davis…
