Well the club personel aren't stupid. They know if they sell out a guy like Briggs, the big named people aren't going to hang out there anymore. Basically it is going to take a patron stepping forward and saying that they saw Briggs drunk before anything can move forward. The problem is that they have no proof, even if that does happen, of how much he had to drink, unless they force the club to release his bar tab.

You can't suspend him for what he has been accused of to this point. The thing is the whole world knows that there is more to this story, and until you can prove something, you can't punish him.

Rideau's injury really ended that competition prematurely. I think the Bears were doing him a favor by giving him a chance to potentially catch on with another team. I would be glad to see him back on the practive squad.

We don't know exactly how big of a deal this is yet... If things are what they appear to be, than yes, this is a big deal. If this is some bizarre misunderstanding, then it isn't a big deal.

I guess it depends on if they can build any kind of a criminal case against him or not. If they can't, they really can't do anything to Briggs.
