  1. Also certainly going to get some special teams burn.
  2. Are there many teams that can't say that though? When you get a Sunday night game or a Monday night game, you're usually not facing a team that went 1-15 the previous year, you've got a quality opponent.
  3. Might try that same game but also trying to find new job/move, so will have to stubhub those tickets if I'm still here.
  4. If they have only $1.8 left, they won't have enough to sign their own draftees. $1.8 other than the draft holds would make sense and leave enough money to sign this guy.
  5. It continues to seem like the Bears have quite a bit more than $3.5 million in cap space remaining.
  6. I can't imagine the Bears letting Okoye walk so easily if they weren't shooting for a DT target here.
  7. Out of those options, I might consider the Rams at 6 if Blackmon is still available there...but that's the only one of those spots. And I wouldn't pay full price for it, the Bears could use depth at too many positions to sell out their full draft for a WR, Julio Jones style. Moving up to #12 isn't worth the price it would cost, similar talent might well be available in this draft at 19, just at different positions (but positions where the Bears could still use players).
  8. Useful list from that article:
  9. He has the weapons he needs, he just needs to stay upright now.

    Decent read

I don't know if they have the roster spots to add two O-Linemen and keep them on the roster compared to last year, but there's definitely still room for 1.
  11. I think the Bears could be a Super Bowl team right now, but the O-line schemes need to work better, and Forte needs to show up for camp. Adding to the D-Line would really help too.
  12. Gotta remember though, if he has something on his record, he goes straight into the NFL's substance abuse program, which means he tests positive for anything or gets a DUI, then he's out for multiple games.
  13. I would ask my coach to meet with him. Especially if I had a "players coach" who had a record of helping people generally stay away from trouble.
  14. If they were going to do that, I figure they would have let Wooten go already. They may still do so but they obviously would like to give him 1 more shot at being healthy.
  15. Serious question...why is returning kickoffs so different from returning punts?
  16. A 6th rounder can be enough to move up a spot or two in the first round.
  17. I'm actually not as big of a fan of trading down for the Bears as I usually am. This Bears team needs, IMO, guys who can step in and contribute immediately. That means first round talent to me. But, I only see what, 2 positions now where the Bears legitimately need a starter candidate? DE and OT? Now that they've added the CB spot, they need an OT and a DE starter, and maybe not both of those. I'd almost be a bigger fan of sacrificing the depth and moving upwards. They just signed the depth. They could use depth at Safety, WR, LB, and that's about it. They could sacrifice a 6th rounder to move up and get the DE they wanted and it would make sense to me.
  18. Eagles officially sign Bell.
  19. Meh, at this point no one even visits the other 2 "forums" on this page.
  20. WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Bears might scout the OT's like Martin and not like what they see compared to Webb, or the Bears might scout the OT's and think there's a substantial upgrade with one of them. Whatever call they make, the season is quite literally riding on it...as are Smith and Tice's jobs.
  22. If the Bears like him and think he can step in right away, and he falls to that slot, then go for it, that gives the team 3 first round picks on the O-Line right away. They'd still have D-Line and CB needs, but if that guy is there and they like him, why n ot?
  23. If that is the case, and Lovie Smith and Mike Tice still start him next season...then the end result will be that all 3 are replaced. That goes for Webb also. This is one of those "Playoffs or firing" seasons.
