Just note this...they offered him a deal exactly in line with what they should have offered him at the time. That's why these "Pay Forte!" threads and quotes everywhere are so frustrating...because the team gave him a fair offer. Complaining about the Bears not having him signed to me is tantamount to saying "Overpay Forte!" The Bears have shown that they'll offer him a fair deal, the question I have is whether he'll accept a fair deal.

Assuming Forte stays healthy, the Bears will make a D'Angelo Williams level offer to Forte just after the season ends. It will again be a fair offer for a RB of Forte's caliber at that point in his career, just as the offer they made last month was a fair offer at that point. If Forte wants to be paid like Adrian Peterson or CJ, he's going to wind up with the franchise tag on him for this year.

Seriously, its your opinion that Chris Williams has been the problem for this line?

And if they'd taken a lineman in the middle-rounds people would be outraged over how they're starting yet another inexperienced mid-round lineman to protect Cutler.

Once again I'll ask...was the offer Jerry Angelo made to Matt Forte unfair?

How long is Louis out for?

Do we really think that Mad Martz's game plan was to run the ball 11 times? I think he is happy to adjust mid-game...the adjustment is just to "Throw every down."

I find it really hard to believe that the Boltz would have let him go for anything less than a first, maybe more.

But did that happen because of number of plays? The Patriots have had a ton of offensive plays already.

You know, with some people you can say that and be right. With Sidney Rice, I think it's obvious that if he didn't tear his labrum with the Bears, he'd have hurt something else.

When you drop back every single play...this is the end result. Especially when 40% of your starting O-line is out with injury.

I still will defend the roster construction some, but I have to look at playcalling here. This is just an inexcusable stat. Martz ran less than he did in the worst of the worst games for his Kutler-cilling efforts last year.

There's no hope about it. The Saints will get a few more points, but the Defense will keep the Bears in this.

Problem with Martz is...if the WR's aren't getting open and the OL isn't performing well, then those reflect on the OC. The WR's getting open quick is a system issue...if that looks like an issue, esp. against a blitzing D like New Orleans...that's something you should have prepared for during the week. The OL breaking down...that's draw play, screen play, and quick slant/quick out time. Get a few of those and force the defense to loosen up.

Into half down 6...eh...could be worse, at least they moved it at the end.

Winning with defense and enough offense is never as sexy as winning wtih big offense and enough defense. The TV always picks big offense.
