  1. The only 2 players that I remember going from the AFL to the NFl in recent years are Kurt Warner (STL) and Antonio Chatman (GB), who was also with the Rush. I dont watch the AFL on a consistent enough basis to make a sure statement, but there has to be a reason why he is in the AFL and not the NFL. He came out of college at Western Kentucky as a CB and was converted to an offensive specialist in the AFL. He's pretty big, at 6'3, 220. Here's an interesting article about him when he went undrafted as an underclassmen. http://media.www.wkuherald.com/media/stora....W-263069.shtml
  2. Jets fans were sure they would take him at 25 if he was there. I was also worried that maybe the Pats would take him since Brady is getting up in age and they lost Daniel Graham.
  3. Well, Okwo was Stanford's team MVP and everyone bitched about that one...
  4. The special teams group can really make our offense that much more dangerous.
  5. Yeah, I went and fixed it after you posted.
  6. The TJ trade also moved us up 1 spot from our original 2nd rounder lol.
  7. Get out...never would have guessed.
  8. Well, if I'm not mistaken, we ended up getting Wolfe, Payne, and a 2008 3rd rounder for the 37th pick. We also move up a spot in the deal and get Bazuin. So, you're getting 3 players for the price of 1 basically. And based off the fact that we didn't draft a WR anyway, I'd say it worked out well for us. Also depends on what we can get out of that 3rd rounder next season.
  9. Obviously, the organization wanted to add a lot of depth into the OLine and the Secondary. TE has been a need for a while, and we get the best TE in th e draft. Bazuin adds another good pass rusher, Wolfe is the change of pace back, and Okwo is an athletic guy who will probably excel in special teams. Not a bad draft if you ask me. Would have like a WR somewhere, or maybe a different LB, but overall, I'm happy.
  10. The final breakdown: 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) - Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College 5 - 30 (167) - Kevin Payne, FS, Louisiana-Monroe 5 - 31 (168) - Corey Graham, CB, New Hampshire 7 - 11 (221) - Trumaine McBride, CB, Mississippi 7 - 31 (241) - Aaron Brant, OT, Iowa State
  11. Aaron Brant, OT, Iowa St 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) - Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College 5 - 30 (167) - Kevin Payne, FS, Louisiana-Monroe 5 - 31 (168) - Corey Graham, CB, New Hampshire 7 - 11 (221) - Trumaine McBride, CB, Mississippi 7 - 31 (241) - Aaron Brant, OT, Iowa State
  12. I'm curious to see what undrafted FA's the Bears pick up...
  13. What the hell? Another DB? 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) - Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College 4 - 30 (167) - Kevin Payne, SS, Louisiana-Monroe 5 - 31 (168) - Corey Graham, CB, New Hampshire 7 - 11 (221) - Trumaine McBride, CB, Mississippi 7 - 31 (241) Damnit, there goes Baker.
  14. As far as WR, I could see JA picking someone from a big school with a winning record. Maybe someone like Rhema McKnight, Dallas Baker, Chris Davis, Roy Hall, etc.
  15. 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) - Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College 4 - 30 (167) - Kevin Payne, FS, Louisiana-Monroe 5 - 31 (168) - Corey Graham, CB, New Hampshire 7 - 11 (221) 7 - 31 (241) Gimme a sleeper WR and another OL and I'd call it a very good draft.
  16. I love the Beekman pick. 2006 NCAA All-American. Will step in a replace Ruben Brown soon. 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) - Jason Beekman, OG, Boston College 5 - 30 (167) 5 - 31 (168) 7 - 11 (221) 7 - 31 (241) Is it because he is white?
  17. Well, your talking about improving your starting DE's, while talking about Bazuin, and that just doesn't make sense. Brown has had the hand(?) injuries, and Ogun has had the hammy problems, so that really isn't fair to say about them. Those 2 are phenomenal players when healthy, but I do agree with Jas, Ogun hasn't been the pass-rusher we all thought he would be. But then again, he hasn't been as healthy as we thought either.
  18. What the hell have you been smoking today? Bazuin surely isn't the improvement based on your comments. If it was, we would have picked Charles Johnson, Quentin Moses, or Tim Crowder. Even then, they aren't improvements over Brown and Ogun. If you want improvement, you trade all the way up to get Anderson, Adams, Carriker, etc.
  19. I trust JA. Sure, there are probably better guys available, but the Bears aren't looking for the next star RB or S. It's all about depth, and what works with the teams system. I'm not mad just yet. If anything, the Bazuin pick puzzles me most. 3rd rounder, my fault. But no one was expecting him to become a Pro-Bowler. Hell, I hadn't even herd of him when we drafted him. Hindsight is 20-20 my friend.
  20. So when we drafted Lance Briggs in the 5th round, you were thinking, "Boy, he could be our future starting LB alongside Urlacher. Maybe even a Pro Bowler!" Relax, it's a depth pick.
  21. There is no need to get up in arms. He's a 3rd RB on a Super Bowl contender. I think we are still looking at this draft like an 6-10 team. Relax, we're picking need based, just to fill some depth.
  22. I probably would have taken Pittman though. Is he not still on the board?
  23. 1 - 31 (31) - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2 - 30 (62) - Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan 3 - 30 (93) - Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois 3 - 31 (94) - Michael Okwo, LB, Stanford 4 - 31 (130) 5 - 30 (167) 5 - 31 (168) 7 - 11 (221) 7 - 31 (241)
  24. Why? He is a change of pace back. Could follow the Michael Turner NIU route.
