I'd personally love the pick-up. At least he's had experience as a #1 and would provide an alternative to Benson. If the cost wasn't too outrageous, it would be a win-win. Either we gain a new starting RB, or we light a fire under Benson's ass because he'd finally have REAL competition.

You sure as hell are quick to rip on someone as soon as they are gone. I'd welcome TJ back with open arms. The guys is a human muscle. And as far as breaking tackles, I think you watched a different Bears team than I did in the past. He's pretty shifty for a guy that bulky, and he can run over a few guys. Someone on another board had a .gif of him stiff-arming a Dolphins player in the face and thrusting him out of bounds, but I can't seem to find it. EDIT: Found it...

I think it was a safe bet he wasn't going to get past the Jets. (Cue BearSox telling everyone he knew this was going to happen all along.)

I like picking Otah, but if DeSean Jackson or Limas Sweed are there, I'd take them over Hardy. Also, if it just so happened that Mendenhall or Phillips fell to that 22nd, we'd be dumb not to pick either.
-
If Darren McFadden is there at 14, I'll shit a brick if we don't pick him. At the very least, you make a deal to rip off the Cowboys for their picks.

Signing Javon Walker and drafting Limas Sweed, James Hardy, or DeSean Jackson would make me feel a lot better.

Hopefully we just added a couple years on to Brian Urlacher's career. Nice move JA. Glad to see Briggs back in the navy and orange.

Do you make things up all the time to make you sound right? My god, the guy can't hit a WR in stride at all, has terrible footwork, bad mechanics, and went to a DI-AA school. Get off his jock. But hey, he can throw it 74 yards...and Kyle Boller could put it through the goalposts from his knee at the 50-yard line. Don't get me wrong. If the Bears draft him, I'll root for him to become Dan Marino Jr., but I just don't see it him and I don't get why everyone has been in love with him especially since everyone has fallen in love with him AFTER the season.

Henne is NOT a great QB...at all.
-
Have you seen their receiving group? Justin Gage, the guy the flippin' Bears got rid of, was their #1 receiver. Be realistic.
-
If you wouldn't want Vince Young quarterbacking the Bears, you have problems with your head. Would you rather have Flacco, the man who dominated Div I-AA, and has a highlight reel of terrible mechanics and numerous passes thrown behind receivers?
-
You don't think Ryan Clady is going to go in the 1st round?
-
If we draft Henne, I will become a fan of another team. Every single Michigan fan I have talked to (and I live in Michigan) knows he will not be a good NFL QB...mainly because he wasn't even that good of a college QB. He is a pansy. Every time Michigan was down in a clutch situation, he would come out of the game due to injury. Stay away from Henne. For the love of God, please don't pick him.

Weren't you hugging Otah's genitals like a month ago?
-
Safety Position: The guy has the passion. Give him another shot, keep him around. He's the heart of the team.

GMAB, Andrew Walter, Aaron Brooks, and Kyle Boller have absolute guns too. As does our very own Sexy Rexy. That's not a selling point. Look's like he has a low release point too and short arms his passes. I'll pass, unless it's mid-late round, on the I-AA talent.

We don't need a flipping backup. We need a bonafide #1. Turner has proven he can be that, as had Barber and Lewis. Your man love of Chris Brown is flabbergasting to me. With that said, Barber isn't hitting FA, so it'd be between Turner/Lewis/Jones...and I'd be happy with any of the 3 because Benson is terrible and equals the Tyrus Thomas of the Bears. Don't give me the O-Line crap, he couldn't break tackles for shit and has zero big play ability. Sign me up for bringing in Michael Turner.

Generally yes, it is a key in the 3-4 defense, but it could very well work. He's definitely got the athletic ability to do it, and it puts our best athletes on the field more often. Now we've got some defensive minds in Lovie and Babich, and though it'll probably never happen, I could definitely see it working.

Ok, so I've been thinking about this for a while. Mark Anderson is obviously our best pure pass rusher, but Brown deserves more playing time as he is much better against the run, so I say, if Briggs leaves, we convert Anderson to a LB/DE hybrid, along the lines of Willie McGinest and Terrell Suggs. He's definitely got the speed and athleticism, and we all know he can tackle. I think the role would suit him well if he can learn to play some decent zone coverage and of course, he'd always be a threat when blitzing. Even if Briggs stays, we should think about this because it allows us to play our best players more in Brown at DE and then Anderson's threat to get to the QB. Suggs is 6'3, 260 and Anderson is 6'4, 255 so their nearly identical physically. If he emerges, we could let Hillenmeyer go to save some cap space. Anderson/Urlacher/Briggs or Anderson/Urlacher/Hillenmeyer or Williams/Urlacher/Hillenmeyer or possibly Williams/Urlacher/Anderson... I dunno, just something I've been thinking about for a while which might improve our defense. Thoughts?

Stay away from Henne. The guy can make the deep throw pretty good, but he is the softest QB alive. Every time Michigan was down, Henne had to come out of the game because of "recurring injuries." He's not too mobile, though he'll scramble out of the pocket to find a throw once in a while. Then again, when Jake Long is watching your ass, you don't have much to complain about.

People who claim this game showed them that Brennan isn't a good QB are delusional. I recall numerous specific plays in which the Hawaii offensive linemen were on their backs within 1 second of the snap. Put him behind a good O-Line that will give him time and he will absolutely carve up every defense.
-
You're right, why sign one of the best lineman in the game? Dumb idea.

Draft Clady, sign Faneca, re-sign Brown, let go of Miller and suddenly we've got a really good O-Line: Clady/Faneca/Kreutz/Brown/Tait.
