  1. Honestly, I don't put much stock in these mocks barring the top 5 picks. So much can go down after that... I'm not sure solely basing Emery's potential on what the Chiefs did is correct. He wasn't GM. He just had a say. I don't really know enough about this draft class (as usual) except Luck. This off-season will be interesting, and I still think not as "telling" about Emery as most would like to think. To much is at play, like Smith's needs, closing windows, etc...to truly gauge where Emery's real mindset is. I won't believe anything he or the team says, so much is smokescreens and media-speak. I just want to think we have a good brain making decisions now. I'm excited to see how FA plays out and how Emery's first draft plays out. I think we all are!

  3. I read just a firston PFT. There was some new restructuring to the tag w/ the new CBA that caused such.
  4. It's the time to let Emery, Cliff Stein & Teddy crunch the numbers!
  5. That should be more than enough to accomplish bringing in a vet #1 WR, re-signing our own, and potentially adding a decent addition to the DL.... As Tom Petty said, "The waiting is the hardest part..."
  6. Hell, I'm sure they did. I guess it could be all BS, and we'll all literally believe it when we see it. But, at least the statement coming it is positive vs being told they aren't going to spend anything. At the moment, at least there's hope.
  7. Are you saying both V-Jack and Bowe? I somehow think that that's seriously improbable....
  8. It sounded like he was going to work out a long term deal w/ the Bills, so I left him off... sorry.
  9. Can't have your cake and eat it too!
  10. I think the fear most have w/ DeSean is that he's a little too similar to what we've had... Fast, small. Much better than what we've had, but still a bit too similar that he's not a big target.
  11. When you mentioned it, JA was still in charge. It's good to hear it now with Emery now in place. And it's good to see it in the press, not just as insider info. But, please keep your info coming!
  12. I'll take him for his word...for now! That's great to hear!
  13. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/foot...l?sct=nfl_t2_a3 I kind of like his response....not what I expected.
  14. Just curious...if were the GM, who do you make a move for? All these choices are within reason to some degree...
  15. I used to want him, and thought Smith might be able to do something...now, I'm not so sure.

  17. Agreed! He should only be complimentary to a Bowe/V-Jack/etc guy....
  18. I fully agree. Emery would get a pass on a lot things....this is not one of them.
  19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Tommie. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...ris-dies-at-29/
  20. I freakin' love this site for pretty much the exact same reasons. There are so many passionate fans here. Many times, we have well thought out discussions and some amazing points are made. A few times, we lower ourselves (and I'm guilty of it more often than I'd like!) and make some knee jerk comments or responses....however, at the end of it, usually all's well that ends well! I love what everyone brings to the table!
  21. ha! I went there w/ mywife last summer, and we tried it. I made some kind of a tree branch, but my wife knocked out the clover! However, I was really good at drinking them! Agreed!
  22. Agreed! Hell, Shoop and Shea make Ron Turner look like Coryell! I like the history Bates has with Cutler. It's part of the learning curve that does not need to be re-hashed out. Bates' strength could very well be just as a positional guy. Even if he's not great, it's Tice's baby. Tice is in control. I like what I've been hearing around the radio that the move to get Bates and eliminate the passing coordinator element out of it was due to Tice's not being pleased about it. Also, rumors of Emery not being pleased about it are circling about. Maybe it's revisionist history, but assuming there's some truth to it, it's a good sign for things to come. The moves make logical sense. Tice's philosophy makes logical sense. Hiring Bates makes logical sense. Sure, it may not work. But there's not denying that, on paper, it looks as solid as one can ask for as this moment. Whereas Martz's plans were always met with skepticism at minimum...pure dislike at max. Just get ready to hold a space at the SB victory party this upcoming season in Chicago. I'm drinking Kool-aid like it's free Guinness pouring out of the St. James Gate tap at the top of the Storehouse Gravity Bar!
