Brian, Do you not sense the humor and disgust in the replies? Of course we'd all take a number of those guys. But stomaching those bastarrds winning another SB, and the way we lost to them is just a tinge too much at the moment to really "like" any GB player... F Green Bay. Always and forever.

My thoughts exactly... But, I'm intruiged.

I got the same impression. He seems to have good hands, seems to fight for the ball... The question is how fast and does he run good routes and help the QB. Also, is he injury prone? He looks to have had an injury...but he sure looked good in the highlights. From the videos I watched, he looks like a nice guy that appears to do his homework... Who knows... He could be the flavor of the pre-season WR...or maybe turn into something.

Here's some more info on Andy Fantuz http://www.andyfantuz.com/blog.html

Looks intersting.... He looks a little slow, but he does look like a big target with good hands. Let's hope he can run routes... Also, looks like Manelly and Big Toe are resigned... http://www.chicitysports.com/2010/12/27/be...act-extensions/

Good points... I agree. Yeah, I don't want to trade with the Pats. JA got fleeced by the Bucs for Gaines Adams (RIP), I can only imagine what the Pats would do. We'd probably give away Cutler, Urlacher, Briggs, Hester and 3 first rounders...

Larry Fitzgerald available for the right price

Ha! I already made the V-Jack move in mine! -
Dang, that's sad! I have a signed mini helmet from him. Got it free for signing up for an NFL credit card. I'm keeping it for the odd memories...

DAMN TAG!!!!!! I don't want to lose any picks for Jackson and Mankins. I'd rather try for a guy already under conract so we wouldn't have to lose so many top picks. I guess we hope for Rice now.

Sounds good to me!

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20110201/news/110209930/ I wish my best to Lovie and his family. I may have my issues with him as a HC, but as a man, he seems to be genuinely nice.

Cowher is the obvious choice......my plan is: 1. Let Smith coach out his final year. If he shows more of the good he showed this past season, then by all means, extend. 2. If not, then... a. Cowher (I know, you said, other than him, but he's the one...) b. Gruden c. Fisher d. Grimm Just of the top of my head....
-
Gotcha... Fisher isn't all that and a bag of chips. Agreed. Maybe just all that... Or maybe just the bag of chips. But nor is Smith. So, I think the wait and see approach is far more desirable than ponying up with no end in sight for 3-4 more years. Smith earned not to get fired this past season. let's take the next step next season. If he does well again, then he deserves an extention.

grizz, I'm not sure where you are getting your stats... 1. Rushing, we were 22nd http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?arc...e&Submit=Go 2. Passing, we were 28th http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?arc...e&Submit=Go 3. Total Offense, we were 30th http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?arc...e&Submit=Go I think I posted this in a nother thread, but most take fault with Smith's demeanor only as a subset of larger issues. Like poor game management, poor player development, bad challenging, etc... I'm honestly not sure how you find it odd that so many have issue with extending Smith. He's currently under contract. If he s$%&s the bed this season, do you really want him guaranteed for 2-4 more years? If he doesn't, then you resign him then. Why the rush? I think most are cautious and fear that we will return to what happened after the SB... This is why there isn't a averwhelming majority calmoring for extention right now.

My Madden wishlist...and tryin to be somewhat reasonable... QB - Hanie FB - McClain WR - V-Jack, or Rice, or Holmes, or maybe Steve Smith NYG OT - Yanda OG - Mankins or Nicks (pipe dreams), then Blalock C- kreutz S - maybe Huff....
-
I think, at least most, are on board w/ the idea that everything is up in the air until the billionaires and millionaires figure it all out. But, we need something to talk about, so I think most of us are going on the premise that things will be relatively similar to the past year, with maybe a cap. I apologize if some folks truly do not know that this impeding CBA crapola is unsettled...

I think the whole thing w/ V-Jack and the Chargers is definitley unusual. It was a serious pissing contest. So, I'm not sure there's even remotely a way to guage what will happen. Did the Chargers jack up the price to F with him? Do the Chargers really want him? Will he be rpoblematic if he's tagged? Just too mamy questions and possibilities. I simply look at him as reasonable possibility #1... If it can't be done within reason, we move to plan B, which could be Rice or similar...
-
I fully agree!
-
Man is that guy gonna be pissed off then! Oh well, on to plan B!

I completley assume Caleb with be back with us as our solid #2... I hear ya! V-Jack and the next tier OL would be beyond awesome. I'd even stop calling JA, JA. We need solid above average OL prospects, and I think those guy you mention would do just that. Mankins could end up being far too pricey for all the needs we have. (Could we get 2 of those guys vs one Mankins for instance?) I would also still draft OL high and often. And a serious grab at a C to replace Olin in a year or 2. Yeah, if we could go from D to C+ on the line, I'd be thrilled!
