  1. True, but if some team were that in love with him, they'll probably be able to get him...
  2. Agreed... V-Jack seems more within the realm of possibility.
  3. We're petty much on the same page. The DEt/GB elements wash each other. However, regarding the Eagles...we barely beat them at our house. I'm expecting they barely beat us at their house this next time around. A game here or there in the long run... Much can happen, but as of right now, the schedule doesn't looks like it'll be a huge roadblock. It'll depend on how we play more than anything. We tend to be our own worst enemy.
  4. Knox and Hanie are useless as trade bait. Hanie is a FA. Assuming som semblance of how things worked before this CBA stuff, he can go to the highest bidder. Knox is maybe an interested #12 or #3 for most teams, but nothing to garnish much trade excitement for. In fact, he might be used as a return man for most clubs. Getting a back-up QB will be easy. It's just that management picked the wrong dolt. There will be guys out there to back up the spot for a short period. We lost Jay longer than a few games, and it's over regardless. It pretty much is for any team.
  5. That's what I hope would happen as well.... But, yes, it won't. And there's no way Fitz goes for a mere 1st either...
  6. I generally agree...but if you could get Fitz for a 1 straight up...I think it's worth the gamble. You get a proven commodity that JA seems unable to draft. If he went OL, there's too much of a chance he'd wing it on some up and coming project guy that injured. Not that we should think that way, but Fitz is arguable the best WR in the game when he has a decent QB throwing to him. Cutler could be that guy. I think this move would also be predicated on getting Mankins or similar in FA. A plug & play immediately guy. However, I prefer making a run at V Jack...and just having to pay loot instead of loot and a pick.
  7. of course, but that'll never happen. Kind of like saying would you a pound of gold for $20? Sure...but no one's that foolish to part with it at that price. Sounds like you're thinking in Madden 11 terms!
  8. I generally agree. But I may keep both OL in #1 as we may need to transition younger players.
  9. Being conservative... ATL L CAR W SEA W KC W SD L DET W GB L MIN W NO L TB W PHI L DEN W OAK W DET W GB L MIN W Seeing 10-6 all else being equal. That should get us in at least as a wild card....
  10. I bacially love your plan. I can't attest to the draft as I'm not that up on this year's prospects. But the logic behind it sounds good.
  11. Blame it on Mike McCaskey!
  12. My logic is that JA will F up the pick, I'd rather get something solid.
  13. No bias needed for SRV! I like Johnny Lang for his playing, but his songwriting isn't up to par with those other guys. But, it is good to see some of the younger guys keeping things alive. I really also like Keb Mo. He's more a modern day Robert Johnson...but he's not that young anymore! There was a great blues band in LA in the mid-late 90's called the Red Devils that just shredded. The harp player/singer was amazing. He unfortunatley died of a heroin OD. If you like the blues, Ihighly recommend you check their cd, "King King" out. It's produced by Rick Rubin and they worked with Mick Jagger and Johnny Cash as a backing band for a few of their albums. The Black Keys also do a good job of the blues vibe within the pop and rock medium. (I'm acually listening to Mississippi Fred McDowell on my compter as I write this!)
  14. Stranger how that stuff works! Alive, Buddy Guy, who I've seen. Dead, Muddy Waters...with all due respect to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Ellmore James. Never saw them. But I have seen John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley, RL Burnside, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, John Hammond and others that I'm beyond thrilled I got to see play live! I could go on and on about the blues!
  15. Connor, don't discount Buddy. Old Dick also has had his fair share of talent to work with... Buddy also was responsible for the Purple People Eaters and the huge D perfromance by the Jets in the Super Bowl w/ Joe Willie in it. Held the great Unitas to only 7 points. I think you're too harsh on our '85 legends!
  16. MLB - Cubs. Odd story...My family is from the South Side (Marquette Park), but my dad was a Lithuanian immigrant and only liked basketball and soccer. So, he hated baseball and I inherited that. As I grew older, the Bears fans I knew just happened to be Cubs fans, so I just fell into it. I'm probably one of the few folks that is a Cubs fan, but like the White Sox. I was thrilled when they won. I harbor no ill will at all, but understand the rivalry. My passion is still football over all... Nothing is even remotely close w/ an exception of the Jordan years Bulls. I hate the Red Sox. Too many bandwagoners came out of the woodworks when they finally won it here in LA... NHL - Blackhawks, but a soft spot in my heart for the LA Kings. Due to living in LA for most my life, seeing Gretzky play in person many times, and my wife being a big fan, I like the Kings except when they play the Hawks! No real hate for any other hockey team... NBA - Bulls! My dad loved basketball early on, and I fell right into it. Jordan helped tremendously! Since then, I've not been as close of a follower...but since Rose's arrival, I've been far more into it. I'm sick of the Lakers living in LA...but loved them when they fought the Pistons. I hated the Knicks, but no longer care. I hate Miami now. My family's from Marqette Park, but I grew up in So Cal, north of LA most my life. Became a Bears fan due to my dad going to college w/ Dick Butkus, who ran in the same circles also being Lithuanian. My dad tells a good story how after a night of drinking one time, Butkus dislodged a parking meter from the cement by tackling it! He probably wouldn't know who my dad is now, but my dad sure remembers him! I now live in the LA area now for many moons. Married, but no children. My wife says dealing with me is enough! Accountant by trade, hard rock and blues fan by choice, and Bears fan by blood!
  17. Glad to help the cause! I'm going to get a Homer Simpson drool on if you show the pics!
  18. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ackers-to-lose/ Shocker: Brian Urlacher wants the Packers to lose Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 28, 2011, 4:01 PM EST Yeah, we know. Of course Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t going to be rooting for the Packers on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s still fun to hear a player genuinely dislike the team that just beat him. “Hell no, I’m not rooting for the Packers in the Super Bowl,” Urlacher said on ESPN 1000 Friday. “I have a ton of respect for that organization and the head coach, but I don’t want them to win the Super Bowl. They’re in our division, I want them to lose.” Thank you, Brian. That’s how players should feel about their longtime rivals. (Now just work on those open field moves so a quarterback doesn’t trip you up next time.)
  19. yeah. Giving a one for Fitz is not a bad thing. it's guaranteed production....
  20. I had never read that before and thought it was a good read too. Glad to share!
  21. Awesome! I'm gald to hear it worked for you! I know sometimes I try something I'll see on Food Network, and my meal looks, and presumeably tastes, nothing like what Bobby Flay did! Thankfully, pizza is one of the only things that is vegetarian that I can actually eat! A good margarhita (sp?) is still good! It's just better w/ some sausage or pep!
