I'm impressed he can speak... I thought with that much roids in your system, you'd just grunt and howl...

1. Hester's record break 2. Wooten's career ending sack of Favre...which should have been a fumble as well 3. Cutler to Olsen for the TD in the Seattle playoff 4. Urlacher's pick on Rodgers 5. Hester's nice grab at the beginning of the season 6. Cornelison's singing 7. DJ Moore's many picks 8. Peppers KO'ing poor Stafford -
Seriously! It was like listening to Madden on Favre's jock!

Bears bungled backup quarterback situation

It's on the coaching staff... In our biggest game, they again make too many poor decisions. Hopefully, they will not be given an extention. I really need to see improvement next year. -

Bears bungled backup quarterback situation

Seeing the obvious isn't hindsight. Collins looked worse than puke. He got a chance to show what he had, and dead men in pine boxes have more. Hanie should have been #2 right after the CAR as you mention. They botched it. -
F that. Mentor what? How to hurl limp duck passes into the dirt? Get his useless a$$ out of here.

Good point! Poor journalism...

Good post.... He was injured, but the perception and how the team handled it was poor. I pretty much agree with all your assessments.

This one will take a while to heal... But, hopefully, they can follow the trend of the last times they went to the SB. Both season's before, they lost the championship game...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...back-situation/ Bears bungled backup quarterback situation Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2011, 11:09 AM EST Lost in all the talk about the knee injury that sidelined Jay Cutler in the Bears’ NFC Championship Game loss has been the fact that the Bears completely botched their backup quarterback situation on Sunday by foolishly installing Todd Collins, and not Caleb Hanie, as their No. 2 quarterback. When Cutler went out, Collins went in, and he was horrible: He threw four ugly incompletions before Bears coach Lovie Smith yanked him for Hanie. But why was Collins ahead of Hanie on the depth chart in the first place? Collins got into two games in the regular season, and he was absolutely terrible: He completed 10 of 27 passes for 68 yards, with no touchdowns, five interceptions and a passer rating of 5.9. At this point, the 39-year-old Collins simply doesn’t belong on an NFL roster. And he certainly doesn’t belong ahead of Hanie on the Bears’ depth chart. And yet even when the Bears made the right call of pulling Collins and inserting Hanie, they did it at an incredibly stupid time: With less than a minute remaining in the third quarter. It’s important to remember that the NFL’s third quarterback rule means that once Hanie got into the game in the third quarter, the Bears couldn’t put Collins (or Cutler) back in. If Hanie had gotten hurt, the Bears would have been stuck without a quarterback for the rest of the game. (And as bad as Collins is, he’s better than not having a quarterback at all.) Particularly stunning is that the Bears put Hanie in only to have him hand off twice before the clock ran out on the third quarter. If they were just going to call two straight handoffs, the Bears should have had Collins hand off and wait until the first play of the fourth quarter to insert Hanie. We’ll never know what would have happened if the Bears had made Hanie the No. 2 quarterback instead of Collins, but it would have been nice for Chicago to get that spark Hanie provided in the third quarter, instead of the fourth. The Bears botched their quarterback situation on Sunday, and Cutler isn’t the only one who deserves criticism.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ers-ripped-him/ Jay Cutler had tears in his eyes when told other players ripped him Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2011, 8:45 AM EST Several NFL players took to Twitter on Sunday to rip Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, questioning his toughness for leaving the NFC Championship Game with a knee injury. A story written after the game by Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated will do nothing to change that perception of Cutler. Although Trotter’s portrayal of Cutler is sympathetic — the headline is “Don’t question Cutler’s toughness” — Trotter offers a detail that is sure to add fuel to the fire for those who believe Cutler just isn’t tough enough to be a great NFL player. “It cut him so deeply that tears welled in his eyes at his locker room stall,” Trotter writes of Cutler’s response to being told other players had criticized him. Trotter continues: “Cutler appeared genuinely hurt when asked about the comments, saying: ‘No comment on that.’ He then turned his back to reporters, fiddled with some things on a shelf and bit his lip as tears welled.” Whether you’re a kid getting picked on in school or an NFL player, if people think you’re a wimp, there’s no better way to confirm that perception than to cry about it. Those players who ripped Cutler on Sunday aren’t going to change their minds today when they hear that he had tears in his eyes. That’s not to say they’re right. For the record, Cutler has missed exactly one game since he first became a starter as a rookie in Denver, and that one game came when doctors wouldn’t clear him after suffering a concussion this season. One missed game in a career that has seen Cutler get sacked 138 times does not make him a wimp. But Cutler has a long way to go to rebuild his reputation. And crying in his locker isn’t the way to do that.

Well said... -
More than agreed. But nor can I watch them. I'm sick of them. This will be the first SB I don't watch. F both teams. But F GB harder...
-
I'm going to Disneyland. There won't be a soul there on SB Sunday. I cannot stand either team. F 'em both. I'm hanging with Goofy. I was my hands of this season with this loss. Time to wait again until next year...or whenever they get a CBA done. I still hope and pray JA is gone. Todd Collins alone should get hima pink slip. And I don't care if Martz wanted him. Martz ain't the GM.

agreed

Sold. He only other thing I'd add is a real FB. This BS w/ Manumalauesless this past season was a joke. We need a bulldozer, not a matador. 1. won't happen due to Rod being a big Smith buddy. I can stomach the same crew for another season and hope for something good. But, please, no extentions yet.

You've got to let folks vent... Yesterday was as tough a loss as any I've ever seen. The who and the how just hurts still...
-
Yeah, I thought it was well written and with a solid presentation of his thoughts. I too loved Orton...thought he was a consummate professional. I always wanted him back as our #2...but I think he's good enough to start for someone else. I think Culter is special. And not in a short bus kind of way!

Alright Marshall!

LOVE IT! Thanks for the post! Dammit I'm pissed off watching Walter, Jimmy and Matt get cheap-shotted...
