  1. Great post! Thanks for sharing. That guy did a tremendous job of reporting! Much kudos! I will be checking that site our more often now! That kind of stuff makes me proud to be a Bears fan. Not the jabroni burning his jersey...
  2. I htink we just simply disagree on the WR's. First off, I couldn't agree more with you about OL. #1 and #2 priorities w/o a doubt. But WR is a concern. I feel we still do not have a big boy WR. I'm not just talking physical, I'm talking about a guy that makes plays, run routes, and helps his QB. We don't have that guy. Bennett may be the closest, but he has too many physical limitations. I agree that getting the OL better will remedy a whole lot. But, I don't want to pass up on a FA WR that could make a huge impact. I think we know what we have in hester and Knox. They are #2's. They are Alvin Harpers w/o Michael Irvin.
  3. I forgot that. Good call.
  4. ...you asked: "Name a big, fast, physical receiver who came in and made a real impact his first year?" I did... They are rare. But there are some.
  5. The team keeps telling us we must move past '85... But, until they win it all, I can't.
  6. Calvin Johnson? Randy Moss? Larry Fitzgerald? I'm going off recollection only...
  7. He did tell us to trust him as he cast Chico aside to put in Babich and failed miserably. The ego is there. The question is, is it in check now due to the failings of the 3 previous seasons?
  8. Good points.... How long does Url have left? I think it's longer tha 3 years...which is what I'd think they'd extend Smith for. Basically adding 2 years onto his current.... If it's 5, then i think that's just too long.
  9. Alaska will hate this... But, we should wait. I don't see a need to get it done now. Can it wait until at least the CBA goes into lockout mode or not? That's the easy thing to tell Smith. He's under contract for another year. The bears have been loyal to him and vice versa. Given the odd circumstances of the current upcoming year, waiting it out a bit shouldn't be an issue. I, and I'm sure it' won't surprise anyone, am not a big fan of Smith. I commend him for a good job this year. However, let's not kid ourselves that he's turned into Bill Walsh. The way he game manages is still baffling. Just looking at the last game...too many bad decisions and a horrific personnel decision to have Turd Collins on the roster in any capacity other than ball boy. My fear, is that what we saw was on the players. Health, desire and the willingness to work with some of the new coordinators. I'm still not completely sold on Martz. Also, too many dumba$$ decisions. But, I'm willing to see more for sure. I've seen a lot with Smith already. If he has a good staff and gets out of the way, he's OK. The players love him, so that plays a huge factor. I just think if we're 0-8 next year starting through the first half...no extention and probably say goodbye. If we're 8-0, extend. Everything else is gray area and depends on who we played and how we played. I just way...let's wait and see a bit. I'd rather pay a bit more after seeing good, than still pay a pretty penny for seeing the bad again.

    So

They need to put it to pasture...And just turn it into a fun 2 hour show with all the guys just talking about the season and tons of highlights.

    So

I'd rather watch grass grow... The Pro Bowl is a joke.
  12. Agreed. I think I read it's $2.5M....not worth it.
  13. Where did you hear that? I'm not seeing any info out there...
  14. It's the slobs vs the snobs! Caddyshack III! McMahon has always been boorish...nothing he does now is a surprise. And in fact, his memory is so bad, I'm not sure he dissed the events on purpose! I still love the guy like a crazy uncle...
  15. Every now and then I can be level headed! Let's not get carried away on coaches yet! Although I hear an extention is coming. I'm not thrilled, but not surprised. Seems inevitable...
  16. Thanks... I totally agree with you. Fox and the bears team did a really poor job in giving out info. Keeping info close to their chest, really backfired in this instance. The Lombardi trophy was just timing... Thankfully it's not the Favre trophy! I'm sure there's an ammendment coming soon!
  17. Not sure you're talking apples and apples. The O Line sucks. Sucked back then, still sucks now. Just less so. Cutler, I think has improved over the year. Yep, he had a crummy game yesterday before the injury. We can bash him for that. There's nothing wrong with a good justified bashing.
  18. I just thought I'd throw this out there as a final thought (a la Jerry Springer....) Jay is my quarterback. He's a damn good QB. Not great. Not yet. Maybe he will be, maybe he won't. But I will say he's the best we've had in years. I also see improvement year to year. If he keeps improving, we might be extremely dangerous for many years. I may not like Jay's propensity to throw off the back foot. I may not like some of the decisions he makes. I may not like some of the errant throws he makes. But, I love that he is a tough son of a bitch. He may not be pissing blood like Jimmy Mac or cutting his ringfinger off to play like Lott. But, he's taken about as many hits as I've ever seen one man take, and take it without complaining or bitching about it as Urlacher put it. I'm no fan of how he presents himself for the most part. Me, I'm a Jimmy Mac guy. But if Jay wants to be Jay, that's fine by me as long as he performs and continues to grow as a player on the field. Unfortunately, his attitude irriates too many folks. And when something like the injury yesterday pops up on a guy people are already hating on, then it's just too easy. But, I am here to just show that I am a fan of Jay Cutler. He is the Chicago Bears QB. The best one we've had in eons. And I like him more now than ever. And like everything else he's weathered, he'll get through this bit of bad press until the story shifts to fellating Aaron Rodgers and an accused rapist, a real tough guy. Bear Down Jay! (Heal up and work on those mechanics!) PS - JA get some damn O line and WR help for the man!!!! Or step down!
