  1. I wouldn't. I'm a Bears fan. He can wait a year.
  2. If you had a vote, would you put him in year one?
  3. It seems to happen to the Steelers every 5 years and they always recover... For Smith, I agree with Jason's assessment, that losing Urlacher is tantamount to Nine Inch Nails losing Trent Reznor... Or at minimum it is a huge concern. And part of that could or should be on JA. We saw for 2 years, square pegs being put in round holes and missed the playoffs. Adaptability is not one of Smith strong suites on D. He seems to be OK with it on O now. Here's hoping he can go more with the flow as we progress...and as he progresses as a HC.
  4. No agrument here! Keep his ass out for a year or longer is fine by me! He's over-rated and over-felated...
  5. Damn. Frogot the McCaskey's...must be trying to shield my memory of any thought of them!
  6. Don't save me a seat yet! I'm just following the caravan in my own car at the moment!
  7. I've let up on the gas pedal regarding my dislike of Smith. I amprobably still in a the minority that our success is more due to health and having good coordinators. But, I'm more than willing to give Smith his credit. I blame him when things are bad as he is the leader of this club, so justly so, I need to give him credit when things are going well. I am worried it's just health, luck and coordinators...but I have a glimmer of hope that Smith has learned something through all this and had improved as a coach. How we fare in the playoffs will be telling... I think he is certainly in the running for COY. Other mentioned like Haley, or Morris...could also be huge considerations. Even Andy Reid. I hope they chill on contract talks. I'd like to see the labor deal play out before giving Smith a boomer contract. He is under contract after all... And when we do give him a new contract, I'd like to see a moderate extention with some poetnetial out clauses. I am happy...but weary. But also hopeful.
  8. Harris does look even more expendable.... WOuldn't mind giving Haynesworth a shot if the price is right.
  9. Great thread! 1a) Packers 1b) Favre 2) Vikings 3a) PI penalty at spot of the ball, should be 15 yrds max 3b) wussifying rules that render the D not as potent 4) 16 game season, should be 14, each game meant more...and please no 18 game season! 5) Too many franchises, expansion diluted talent..at least no more please No arguement w/your list, except Madden. I love his video game and loved him before the Britfar fulffery. Now that he's removed, of which I'm glad, I do find I miss the lug every now and then especially when Joe Buck is on.
  10. Oddly it never stressed me out. I got pissed off at the D for getting no pressure, but it just looked like the O was clicking. We pretty much exchanged blow for blow and kept standing.
  11. I have seen too many flubbed tackles by Briggs lately. I'm sure he'll get it in gear soon....
  12. I've nver berated! Only debated! Cheers! Have a great holiday season!
  13. And a wonderful holiday to you ...and everyone here! I'm sure there will be interest. I wonder how much our coordinators want a HC job. I'm not sure it's a lock. Success has come at one level and certainly not the other. It'll be interesting... Guys like Coslett had it once and never wanted it again I believe.
  14. That are all well deserving! Congrats fellas!
  15. That's pretty funny! I've never seen that!
  16. Boston can post anything he'd like here too. Just like any of us, there should be some expectation of negative comments if it's something that is controversial in any way..
  17. Dang...I did not know the numbers. Thanks for posting that! Hester is the man!
  18. Yeah...Url's tackle stats almost got lost in the mix! Thanks for mentioning it!
  19. Proof positive that this board is loaded with cool people....! We argue, disagree, etc...and all is well.
  20. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...man-than-i-was/ Deion Sanders: Devin Hester is a better return man than I was Posted by Michael David Smith on December 21, 2010, 4:07 PM EST Deion Sanders was a great football player, and he’s not shy about saying so: When Sanders was named the 34th best player in NFL history, he was furious, saying it was insulting that anyone could think 33 players were better than him. So it says a lot that Sanders is willing to proclaim Devin Hester a better return man than he was — and the best return man in NFL history. Sanders tweeted on Monday night that Hester is the greatest returner of all time, and he expanded on those comments in an interview on ESPN 1000 in Chicago. “I think right now he’s a Hall of Famer,” Sanders said. “He spent a couple years without barely getting the ball kicked to him. I can’t think of a returner ever playing the game with the impact he has. There is none. He’s phenomenal.” Hester became the NFL’s all-time leader in kick return touchdowns when he brought back a punt 64 yards Monday night in Minnesota. For his career, Hester has 175 punt returns for 2,127 yards and 10 touchdowns, and 112 kickoff returns for 2,684 yards and four touchdowns. Sanders retired with 212 punt returns for 2,199 yards and six touchdowns, and 155 kickoff returns for 3,523 yards and three touchdowns.
  21. Well said. Not sure I agree fully, but I certainly get where you're going with it. All I can say is that he's got a roster spot on my all-time Bears team!
