What else do they have to do up there?

Moth frothingly beautiful...bring it old man. Nothing would make me happier than being the team that knocks his ass into retirement. Well, a SB win would top that...

When luck happens to a good team that is expected to win (like the Stleelers for example) it's considered "good teams find ways to win". When it happens to a team like the Bears, who many feel aren't that good, it's considered being lucky. Until we are a consistentluy winning franchise, we will be considered lucky with wins... And I could care less. No matter how we win a SB... I'd love it to be like '85 with being good and dominating, but sure as hell I'd take a lucky Hester return to win it...

Report: Bears-Vikings heading outdoors Posted by Mike Florio on December 14, 2010, 8:25 PM EST Though Bud Grant may not be coming out of retirement, tolerating the bone-chilling cold like an animal who has white hair not just on his head but all over his body, the Vikings will play a home game outdoors for the first time since December 20, 1981. (They lost to the Chiefs that day, 10-6, at the old Metropolitan Stadium.) Cory Roufs of 1500ESPN.com reports that the Vikings are moving forward with plans to host the Bears at TCF Bank Stadium, the home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Per Roufs, the roof at the Metrodome can’t be repaired by Monday, which would be only eight days after it collapsed under the weight of a snowstorm that originally delayed the Giants-Vikings game to Monday night. The collapse, in the event you’ve been trapped inside the Metrodome since Sunday, was played at Ford Field. Roufs reports that the decision has been made not to try to repair the Metrodome before Monday’s game between the Bears and the Vikings.

Drool.... Could we KO him for good? I'm jazzed at the possibility...

The semantics of "eeking"! Just saying...we didn't eek it in in 2006 nor in 1985... And yes...I want us in and we'll see what happens! Life is honestly much better when the Bears are competitive!

Exactly!!! You know...it's the one time when book burning is truly acceptable... I have the Walter book and it had a forward from him that I tore out and Sharpied so you can't see he is on it. How dare they get him to srite Walter's forward. I'd rather have Trent Dilfer write the intro...

I second that!

1. Agreed 100%!!!! One SB, one loss in a SB...amny playoofs...but too many mistakes along the way. The volume is impressive...but the results aren't. 2. Agreed again... 3. And again... Marshall's is ridiculous. 4. There's probably a few other media guys in that closet... 5. Man, scary how we're 100% on Britfar....

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...-end-of-streak/ Favre tries to profit from end of streak Posted by Mike Florio on December 13, 2010, 7:30 PM EST Apparently, a salary of $16 million for 2010 isn’t enough. Not long after Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was placed on the inactive list for Monday night’s game against the Giants, Favre’s official web site began selling a signed football commemorating his 297-game streak of starts. For the low, low price of $499.99. “One of the most historic streaks ever in all of sports has come to an end,” the message reads on Favre’s site. “The NFL’s own Ironman Brett Favre has ended his consecutive starting game streak at 297. Chances are if your under 40 you don’t remember a time in the NFL with out Brett Favre playing on Sunday. This is a monumental feat especially at the quarterback position. Just consider since 1992 the Chicago Bears have watched over 20 QB’s start for their team; and the average career length in the NFL is less than four years.” The signed ball will include the inscription “297 starts 1992-2010.” Surely, there has to be a better way to spend $499.99.

You're right Connor... I was hoping we'd at least put a few good licks on Tom Terrific...but we didn't get jack for pressure. Hopefully we can learn from this debacle...

I feel we eeked in. Had the Packers been healthy, we'd probably be out. I'm happy we're in, but by no means do I think we kicked ass and took names to get there. We did well more often than not when opportunity presented itself. Weather is weather. Either you let it bother you or you don't. We let it bother us, they didn't. They were stronger mentally. Good teams get the calls...ask Michael Jordan. We were thoroughly undressed. 2 questionable botched calls did not lose this game. We lost it before we took the field. I generally agree about JA. Although there have been rumblings that he will retire regardless. I still do not trust him drafting. I am still not convinced Smith is the man to lead us to the promised land, but I'm waiting to see how this plays out. He could be satisfactory if our coorordinators are truly good. Regardless, he'll still be around. I just hope we do not re-sign him to anything remotely long term barring a strong SB win.

yeah...you know my thoughts onour coaches! The players came in too cocky I feel. These guys do need a beat down every now and then to keep them honest. They almost have as much swagger as the 85 team w/o the talent and heart to back it up...
-
So true. Probably a good reason we're at where we are at record-wise...
-
he is listed as inactive! Ding dong! The witch might be dead!
-
We were just simply outcoached and outplayed...
-
Dammit jason! That's my line I use when I'm bashing Smith!
-
No inuries to us yesterday...except hurt feelings!

From what I've read, my money is also on the Jags (plus I like using the word "Jags").... But, I'm hoping for the Vikes! At least I get one game a year to watch my Bears in sunny weather!

It did, didn't it!? Stange things can still happen this year... We can eek in, win through...Brady gets hit by a bus and breaks his leg, and we play the Pats in the SB and win. Odds are we lose somewhere in the playoffs. But, this season told us is we're better than most predicted (including myself), but we're not yet there. A good off-season with hopefully a new and better GM could get us over the hump and give it a solid 2-3 year run before losing some defensive stars to age,etc...
