I peresonally would vote for 2, but if it's been decided on 1, I'm good with that.
-
Sounds good! Although I'm going to shift the first one and would rather see you lose the same round you drafted a guy in so people could keep their 1st round picks..especially given you only get them for a max of one more year as a keeper. Does that make senese?

1. I'll delegate my vote to the folks that played last year, but I see no problem w/ the round prior to the pick. 2. Same as 1, and I have no problem losing the round drafted. 3. I'll delegate again, but I like 1 year 4. Again, I'll delegate, but I do like reverse order of the prior years' standings. Odds are the winner probalby had a stud he's keeping, so a small disadvantage isn't bad. And I think as someone mentioned, the winner was the 8th or 9th draft slot, so picking first is no guarantee. 5. I'll completely delegate this one...your prososal sounds good to me. 6. I'll delegate again, but I do like odd opportunities to collect a little payout...

Now PFT is on this... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...e-his-decision/

I know! Just playin'! ...and yes, it is sad. Oh, I hear ya there. But, 'd bet our D would be the toughest, meanest lot in the league! If he were still alive, FA may not have passed through!

Actually, this does worry me about the O-line, and thusly worries me slightly about the D Line... Is the O line that bad, is the d line that good? A bad O line makes a d line look better... But a great D line makes on o line look worse. I just hope the OL comes together, otherwise Cutler will be in traction by mid season...

I do like your version! Hook us up with an mp3!

Bite your tongue! There are no Halases making decisions anymore! Only McCaskeys! Virgie signed up with the dark side! Who really knows...it's just hollow no matter how you slice it.

Yeah...it's just not a good philosophy. Stop first, strip second. You're probably right...but I'd have to think they'd get LS and JA's sign off on it. Smith's been touting it, so in some shape or form, he's OK'ed it. Otherwise, he's brush it off.

I can't agree more about keeping the keeper! That's why I'm interested in joining! If it were not a keeper, I don't want to join I'm already in a league. I want something different!

I like the order from last years' standings personally. I kind of think that's one of the reasons for a keeper league. You are kind of having the same team... I do hear you. It's whatyou're used to. And since I was only in one briefly before it disbanded, and haven't been in one since many moons ago...I'm probalby the wosrt person to rely on! My only real thought is if it's a keeper, than players should be kept. If your draft or FA pick ups were so bad that you can't muster up 2 decent guys to hold onto, that's your problem. You keep the 2 best, and hope to draft better this time around. Just my deflated 2 cents worth... PS - It's K-6, 7-8, then 9-12!

None of that now!

Very true...and very sad... It is official, I have beome the "old man" yearning for the days of yore...

Brett Favre reportedly denies he's ready to retire
madlithuanian replied to flea's topic in Bearstalk
It's all BS, he's playing come 9/9.... -
I read the article too... There was great mention that the teams in the 80's hit a LOT. Henceforth why they were great... If you don't practice it, you're not ready for it. I just find it shocking that this staff simply thinks the players will tackle on Sundays if not practiced. There was also reference that we were one of the worst teams last year regarding long gains by RB's...which is a tell tale sign of missed or poor tackling. And more refence of guys dragging our tacklers downfield for 10 yards while the tackler is just trying to strip the ball. It reeks of marketing and trying to throw a bone to "meatball" fan that thinks the term alone will somehow mean something regardless of the reality behind it. Doen't this kind of thing come from the coaching staff, not PR? Or at least both at minimum?

I think I just switched to Sanka as well... It does sound confusing. I'm happy to sit back and wait this out until there's a concrete vote. But, my feeling is the easier the better. I think part of the idea of a keeper league is that some years won't be ad fair as others, especially the first year. Yep, someone's going to luck into AP or Brees or Manning,etc...and they will get them for 2 years. However, after the 2 years, they go back into the pool. And at that point, the team with the lowest rank, gets dibs by virtue of drafting first. And it goes on and on. That's why I personally think that every owenre should just be forced to keep 2 players, and then the draft starts in reverse finishing order of last years' results. It keep sit easy and simple. There may be some advantages/disadvantages to that this year, but it will even out over time. And that's the objective for a keeper league. But, I'm more than happy to have it be complicated.

If he says it today, expect him to unretire a week before opening week. -
Pix, I think you're wrong. Speaking personally, I've been one of Smith's biggest detractors for a while now. However, look to last season and I was more than willing to give him a chance. He's had a ton of chances, and still makes the same mistakes. And to add to nfo's comments, I've had no problem blasting Angelo, Babitch, Tuner, and countless others including Ted and ownership. Yes, there is plenty of blame to go around...but I and many others feel like Smith's rec'd a pass for far too long, and we've seen too much of the same blunders over and over again. So, henceforth the venom spewed out towards Smith. You do win as a team and lose as a team...however it's easier to replace the leasr for a failing ship, than replace the entire ship-board crew. And from what I've seen, the crew isn't bad. Why are they playing bad and why aren't they developing? I'm not sure, but that's on Smith.

Again, well said.
