  1. I think we got a gem. He is top 10 in the NFL for speed. Velus knows he could have timed 4.2 40 if he came off the line straight. He will have to be accounted for wherever he lines up on the field, especially having a QB who can fly. No worries about him not being a traditional X wr or limited routes. He will also put the time in to learn, he carries a white erase board with him to learn like flash cards. LIKE Devin Hester was landed round 3, the Bears have another special player that will win the city.
  2. I will be pessimistic on this and going with 5 or 6 wins. I do not see how the Bears have improved as well as Minny or Detroit has over the last 2 years. Like i said i am being pessimistic. I think one horrible year will give this team the draft capital to finish the rebuild.
  3. I think a few of us admired him before he was drafted. He had that Drew Brees feel to me. Smaller but quick read and release in college
  4. I have a feeling they will continue feeding Kmet so I do not see the drop at TE being as drastic. Look at GB 2 years ago when Tonyan was healthy and him and Aaron Jones took more receptions because Adam's was hurt. Or even the last 3 years since LaFleur has been HC for 3 years. LaFleur likes the heavier package TE/RB as he invested more in that than WRs
  5. Big needs as of now would be 3T, WR1, RG/LT, and possibly FS. in no particular order. The Bears most likely will be selecting top 10 unless something unexpectedly happens. I would be good taking a WR1 if they can be like Chase 2.
  6. It would not surprise me if the Bears do not draft WR Round 1 again. Looking at KC's history and even Green Bays, they look round 2 or later.

    UDFAs

Sanborn was always in my 5th round selection wheelhouse. He does well in coverage, can take on blocks, and has good sideline speed. Playing SAM, you take on an entourage of blockers if the D flows the same as Lovies did.
  8. I'm a ND guy and have no idea who he is. There are a few UDFAs I like
  9. Some highlights of Larry Mayers interview with Poles. LM-did you get any offers in the 2nd round to move down RP- they did but had Gordan and Brisker rated too high to move down. LM-did you try to trade up for a player RP- we came in with a plan to be disciplined and stick to not trading up. We discussed a few players we considered but stayed on course. LM-were you convinced to draft a player after visiting with them RP- the oline coaches were sure about Braxton Jones. They felt great about Velus even though they were only from zoom meetings. Then after the selection, the text messages he received from other gm/scouts said they took their guy confirmed that conviction. 10. Technically, we did touch a 2023 pick. The Bears were able to convert a 2023 6th round pick into (2)- 2022 7th round picks from the Chargers. They felt better getting 2 players a year earlier.
  11. I hope he becomes a staple in the D. Who knows, a year from now we may have something bigger than the legion of boom. Adrian Amos was acquired with a 5th round pick acquired from trading WR Brandon Marshall Jaquan Brisker was acquired with a 2nd round pick acquired from trading OLB Khalil Mack..
  12. The only concern I have is taking a lot of small school prospects, especially all the guys on the oline. This is Poles supposedly specialty, so we will see how it plays out. As for WR, I don't know what it is but both GB/KC traditional do not invest early in the position. They both received 1st and 2nd round picks for trading away Adams/Hill and both were replaced by 2nd rounders. Poles and Getsy followed their prior teams belief.
  13. He is making sure that there is enough blocks to build a foundation. If those two don't fit, he has 4 more now in his bucket. I hope he builds a league best unit that has depth so Fields has time and stays clean.

    Draft Day 2

I feel like they passed on Pickens and Pierce was it, mayby Sky Moore. Jones could be lightning in a bottle if the Bears can get anything like Deebo out of him. I hope he contributed early
  15. His brother Cameron Thomas played for Miami. Projects inside at G.

    Draft Day 2

Good clip from the Velus call. Had a little dust in my eyes watching this.
  17. They say he is raw but has scary good traits that can translate to a top tier pass rusher in NFL Also a former WR
  18. Braxton Jones From CBS Sports Grade Analysis Major sleeper OT. Has legitimate Pro Bowl OT traits. Mean streak as a blocker pops on film too. Feet are outstanding. Does need to get a touch stronger. Dominated at small-school level. Love this with Justin Fields in mind. (Chris Trapasso) Strengths: Quick first step with great top-end speed. Good overall athleticism. Controlled into pass protection. Does a good job sealing backside pursuit in zone. Great size. Able to create torque with his lower body. Allows defenders to work away from play side.
  19. Dominique Robinson DE/OLB with the next pick. Not sure what or where they see him
  20. The Bears entered Saturday with: 5-148 5-150 6-186 They now have: 5-168 5-174 6-186 6-203 6-207 7-226 7-254 7-255
  21. The #Bears trade back AGAIN, moving No. 150 to the #Texans for No. 166 and No. 207. So the #Bears now have 2 fives, 3 sixes and 2 sevens.
  22. He said he wanted to move down. Wish he was able to do so earlier. Gives us another player so I'll take it. I hope we do lose out on Rasheed Walker LT who is next on my oline list Looks like they traded down again with Texans.
  23. Watching Zach Tom get selected to go to GB is deflating. If we only had a 4th. If anything, I hope Poles values the draft and never gets desperate trading picks away.
  24. As every draft, the picks do not line up with our expectations. Maybe it is having the NFL draft at our fingertips and running simulations and reading on prospects programs us to expect something different. Well it is now day 3 and we are half way through Round 4. Who do we want to finish this draft class? My wish list: OL Zach Tom, Jamaree Salyer, Cade May's, Kellen Deisch. DB Josh Jobe, Montaric Brown, Tariq Woolen WR Kahlil Shakir, Calvin Austin, Justyn Ross,
  25. The Bears filled needs on the team with BPA, not biggest need. Round 2, pick 39 Kyler Gordan CB, the player to help Fields selected shortly after were 43 Wan'dale Robinson KR/slot/#3 WR. Then 44 John Metchie who I like is also a slot/WR #3. Then guys selected after Brisker at 2- 48 were 50 Tyquan Thorton WR, 52 George Pickens, and 53- Alec Pierce. I wanted Pierce and thought he would make a great X. Have to see who has the better career. On oline, we didn't miss much. Luke Goedke, Ed Ingram, Luke Fortner, Nicholas Petit-Ferer and Abraham Lucas. I think we can get an equal player in the 5th. I think with the picks we had, we maximized.
