  1. It makes it exciting. It would be nice if Baltimore would lose out so we feel better when we see Pitt draft a first rd talent with our high 2nd. There are only 31 1st rd pucks this year too.
  2. Breaking News: Bears sign OT Todd Weiner on Wednesday. ?
  3. I like going the defensive route getting DT Carter and then pass rushing DE rd2 to rebuild the front 7. I would also understand putting more resources into Justin Fields hands to give him the best opportunity to flourish. If we feel good with BJones at LT, then get another WR that can take the top off. Jalin Hyatt WR Tennessee would be a Tyreek Hill type field stretcher. 6' 185 with 4.29 speed. RB Achane also has 4.3 speed. Bring in all the speed to take it to the house every touch. TEAM PICKS 6: R1 P6 WR Jalin Hyatt - Tennessee 57: R2 P26 RB Devon Achane - Texas A&M 69: R3 P6 DL Gervon Dexter - Florida 108: R4 P6 EDGE Jordan Burch - South Carolina 134: R4 P32 TE Jahleel Billingsley - Texas 141: R5 P6 OT Olumuyiwa Fashanu - Penn State 161: R5 P26 CB Tony Grimes - North Carolina 221: R7 P6 LB Mohamoud Diabate - Utah
  4. Mock Draft Nov 15. 6: R1 P6 DL Jalen Carter - Georgia 57: R2 P26 EDGE Zach Harrison - Ohio State 69: R3 P6 C Luke Wypler - Ohio State 108: R4 P6 RB Devon Achane - Texas A&M 134: R4 P32 WR Xavier Hutchinson - Iowa State 141: R5 P6 EDGE Mike Morris - Michigan 161: R5 P26 CB Julius Brents - Kansas State 221: R7 P6 OT Zion Nelson - Miami
  5. I think next year if they sign 5 or 6 starter quality players and draft another 8, there will be alot of players we like let go.
  6. I am already considering RB in the draft. This is Montgomerys audition as well. His play has dropped off alot this year. Devin Achane RB Texas A&M looks like a player that can take it to the house, maybe with our late 2nd or 3rd. As for Reyes, let's see what he can do. This year is about finding out. Maybe him and Robinson become pass rush studs and Poles becomes a genius converter.
  7. If be bought in to the new team culture and Poles feels he is a piece to keep, I wouldn't be surprised if they keep him as a building block. He would be one of the only veterans from the old regime
  8. It makes you feel good about who is in charge of building this roster. I hope Cunningham stays.
  9. Regardless of how well Poles may be able to ID talent, the Bears can use the value of a top 3-5 pick. That slot could net them the ability to gain numerous additional picks for years. Trade down from 4 to 15 and gain a future 1st. The team they traded with will not win many games with a rookie QB so next year they have another top 10 pick from that trade and they can move down again and again year after year.
  10. Arob wanted the ring if he couldn't secure a long term contract. If he was a Bear, he'd have more production being the 1b or 2.
  11. He is making it fun again. I know it is at the cost of our defense, but we wanted a modern high scoring offense for a while now and we may finally have it. I am excited to see where Pole and Flus take us in the future.
  12. What kind of bs excuse was there not to get the PI call at home.
  13. There is always that play we see over and over that never works. I wish we could run the slant like GB that chips away 5 to 10 yds per play.
  14. Insert Jaylon Jones... not much better. CB might be another high pick...sigh
  15. Claypool has no room to ask for a contract next year unless he balls out the rest of this year and puts up Jamar Chase like numbers. He does that, i would tell him repeat those numbers and you can look for top WR salary. I don't know if Mooney will be worthy of top salary but he can get a respectable deal.
  16. I would make them play out their contracts. Sign them early and those hunger pains go away. If they become league greats, then I am good paying.
  17. 7: R1 P7 OT Peter Skoronski - Northwestern 56: R2 P25 DL Tuli Tuipulotu - Southern Cal 70: R3 P7 EDGE Mike Morris - Michigan 109: R4 P7 RB Chase Brown - Illinois 133: R4 P31 LB Owen Pappoe - Auburn 142: R5 P7 WR Jermaine Burton - Alabama 160: R5 P25 CB Cam Hart - Notre Dame 222: R7 P7 C Ricky Stromberg - Arkansas
  18. Thanks for looking it up. I recall hearing Jenkins coming out and Joniak and co were dumbfounded for a second until he went to the med tent. They said Jenkins has been yanked 3 times this year for concussion protocol checks.
  19. Earlier in the game, he had to go into the game because the doctors upstairs flagged Tevin Jenkins for concussion protocol. He went to the blue tent to get evaluated and returned. This here must have been to evaluate a couple snaps to see him against live competition.
  20. Going into 2023, the Bears only had Darnell Mooney and Velus Jones Jr under contract. They now add Chase Claypool as another WR they have control of. They will still be players in FA filling out the position but they won't be over spending. Out of all the WRs in the NFL, who else could the Bear have traded for that would have costed similiar or less? I think they did alright, unless we look at Gordan vs other 2nd RD WRs like Pickens.
  21. I think he becomes WR2 pretty quick. His game compliments Fields really well and can become a WR1 if they can build that connection.
  22. * Roquan was as good as gone next year. If he signed elsewhere, the highest the Bears could get is a late 3rd in comp. Since they will be buyers, that would wipe out those chances. Maybe they target Roquan in FA after the season? *The FA WR pool after this season is bare. Plus the cost would be much higher than Claypool who is on the rookie contract all of next year. They have half of thus season and all of next before he cost 10 plus million. *The draft class at WR is not deep for a WR1 type. Can Claypool develop into that? The Bears needed a compliment to Mooney who can also be a threat and I think Claypool will fill that role
  23. They got their WR for a higher cost (2nd) than what I would put on Montegomery right now. If Montgomery takes a modest contract deal, I would be happy to see him stay.
  24. The Fighting Ch-Irish Cole Kmet drafted Round 2 pick 43, year 2020. Chase Claypool drafted Round 2 pick 49, year 2020. Add in.. Equanimeous St Brown Round 6 pick 207, year 2018. Both were big parts of the Notre Dame offense and many Bear fans wanted Claypool over Kmet that draft. Now we reunite the two and get to root on both. Claypool is a great fit as a big target that can out high point most DBs on jump balls and has the speed to separate. It will be fun to watch him take on the larger role to become a 1 or 2 in this league with his new team giving him faith.
  25. Rams are either cutting or trading Akers. If Poles can get a 4th and Akers, it is better than just a 4th. They don't have to keep him if he is garbage.
