  1. If Braxton plays in the 12th range, would you trade DJ Moore after the season so they can extend Braxton?

I used to listen to JJ on the score once a week. He is pretty careful about his words, so it could have been him joking. He does like to do that. He did want his money last time feeling like a top CB in the league on a rookie contract. I don't mind seeing the team secure him early as it made sense and they can spread it out over his last year on the rookie deal, so it helped each way. If he can be a top CB and team leader this year, then the Bears can listen if he demands, but they do not have to oblige or can shop him.

Poles is doing great with the cap. I am not happy with JJ thinking he is the best thing since sliced bread. He wanted more money/early extension and Poles gave him a deal that he accepted. Now he is whispering his deal doesnt look so good. Well maybe he should of waited one year instead of demanding the early extension. Knowing every year those numbers grow. I dont know what todays restructuring did, but it gave the Bears a little more room this season. I just hope Poles has JJ holding out next year on his radar. The extra cap this year might have to go to RB or DE as those two positions have injury concerns.

The player who signed a contract yet hinted he needs more money. I hope Poles restructured him to help the team in the future so they dont get stuck with less dead cap if he demands a trade.
  5. Caleb has the coach and weapons to be top 5. He has to make to right decisions and be quick. He forced a throw to Odunze in the EZ who was doubled when Swift was open close to the 1st down marker. Stop those hero throws and take what is given and live for another shot. I'd like to see more out of Odunze too than he has shown in the preseason. He needs to win those contested catches. Its like our top 10 picks are nice guys who hover that average level. Get to that good level or the great level. KC played great D, the zone they dropped to didnt leave many windows. I cant wait to see how BJ adjusts his game to counter Ds.
  6. I hope you are right. I haven't seen Caleb put it together yet, but this is his best shot. Play in the system and he can flourish.
  7. I like seeing them draft linemen, but damn Poles hasn't shown he's an expert finding them yet. If Wright doesnt become to top 2-3 RTs, he shouldn't cost a ton. He should be a probowler, but I understand those recognitions come with winning football. Heck, move Wright to RG if Trapilo develops.
  8. That is always possible. I can see them going the OLB/DE smaller twitchy type and the also traditional edge setter that can get after the QB too. They might need to take another shot at LT too. You would think the light would go on for Kiran who is smart and has the physical tools but slow starts 2 years in a row tells me he might be gone next year at this time if it doesnt click. If OT Kiran, Trapilo, or Theo and can take and excel at LT this year, and Booker plays like he did early in preseason then BJ might be able to get his stud RB. That would put this team on a path not seen. But that is a lot to hope for.
  9. I agree with this. If Caleb shows he can flourish, then the Bears can afford 2 first round picks. If he struggles, then the Bears have to consider jumping into the QB pool again until they get it right and those picks are needed . We can blame this situation we are in on Poles and McCaskeys bc they decided or were forced to keep Flus/Waldron. If Caleb performed and got the Bears to the playoffs like Jayden Daniel's did, then the Bears might have thrown the war chest to Dallas for Parsons. The good and the bad. Ben Johnson could be the next best HC, time will tell but the choices made led to this. Micah Parsons could get GB to the top or teams scheme against him and he becomes a liability and it costs GB their future.
  10. The position is very important, but we dont even know if we have a QB yet. Id hate to spend all that money and draft picks to learn Caleb cant read/see the field. Once the Bears/CW show they are real, then I am okay with these moves. If BJ and Poles thought the team was ready, I would think they would have went shopping. I was more worried he would end up in Detroit who was a pass rusher away from the SB, imo. Still hurts he went to GB but they have other issues.
  11. I think Swift we be fine but it is a brutal position. RJ has been in the shop more than the field the last couple years, so he worries me. I hope the new guy takes the reins and gets him #2 duties while RJ becomes short yardage/goal line.
  12. Was hoping to see RB Ian Wheeler. Surprised to see a McFadden who we supposedly thought highly enough to advertise a trade and Stromberg. Have hopes on DE Xavier Carlton who seemed to fit the size profile and was in the backfield a lot in tapes I watched.
  13. Makes you wonder. Maybe he cannot read to operate the computers given to them.
  14. From X or Twitter. Searched his name.
  15. I do not know how true this is, but he is sitting out so he can learn to read. He was more than likely ashamed. I can see it. He missed games/time before due to academics.
  16. Ugh, Ryan Pace's smartest guy in the room takes a shot in the dark again and looks like a miss. Tyler Baron DE Miami was there A pair of Ohio St CBs taken right after. 5th round- RBs Ollie Gordon and Devin Neal taken at the top of the round along with 3 more CBs. Penn St Safety Jaylen Reed.... This guy will be 30 by the time he plays. Lets hope he is worth it.
  17. Air Ersery is now the starting LT for Hou after Cam Robinson was injured. Will Anderson says he will be great. Looks like 2 LT targets are blooming (Simmons and Ersery)
  18. That is breaking news to me. Did they say why Zah missed most of camp? To me he should be a ps player since he is so far behind the curve.
  19. If there is any chance Love from Notre Dame is around, the Bears will continue making their Love offense. He has all the tools, plus I am a Golden Domer Homer. I wouldn't pass on a DT either if a DE is not available.
  20. 2026 scouting season starts tomorrow. Though the Bears scouts officially started 2 weeks ago attending camps. Any thoughts on what this team might need after preseason ended? Poles attending next weekend...Texas vs Ohio St, LSU vs Clemson and Notre Dame vs Miami. I have a ND and Clem players in my first few selections Team needs after last game: LT, RB, DT, DE, S, CB
  21. Would BJ fire the ST coordinator? That unit will cost some close games if they dont get it together. Then again the Bears were sloppy (penalties) and slow to start, so thats on the HC.
  22. I'd say KC is on another level. Mahomes has the Aaron Rodgers silckness that we seem to miss. Our run D has holes yet didnt see Jarrett or Billings out there. On Offense, they have to be faster getting the ball out. Having quicker timed patterns because they are not wide-open like last week. Good to get knocked down now so they know they have morenwork to do.
  23. Call me a homer, but I'd like to see the team we have grow together before trading draft capital and a valuable TE. Booker has been a TC hero and if he keeps his pace he'd have 30 sacks 🫠
  24. I never bought into that. Keenum was brought in to help Caleb learn the ropes of the NFL since the Flus, Waldron, Thomas Brown (who never spoke to Caleb until promotes to OC), circus left him clueless. I hope they can find a way to keep him as the #3 to help him through the long season.
  25. I hope so. Gordon misses enough time as it is so fingers crossed he stays healthy. And the other hand, cross your fingers that Stevenson develops/matures.
