It has crossed my mind that one of the top players that could go to the Bears will come from the University of Georgia. Does that concern anybody else since the Bears luck with players from there have not been the greatest. I liked Roquan, but he made some odd decisions. Floyd didn't really fit or flourish in any of our schemes. Wims and Ridley couldn't get on the field and when they did they liked throwing fists. Now when I think of Jalen Carter, a flag pops up and I wonder if he will be another Georgia Bulldog disappointment. If we trade down and Anderson is gone, I am starting to lean on moving down again.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!

I do hope we add a couple vets like DT Payne and DE Ngakoue in FA. If Anderson was there instead of Carter, I would have taken him and then DT Mazi Smith in the early 2nd. I did dip twice for WR since the FA is not as strong. One is the speedster that compares to Will Fuller while the other is the bigger Michael Thomas type. -

PFF has shuffled player rankings. Made the Houston and Indy trades and would be pretty happy if the Bears ended up with this draft At DE, I want someone that can put pressure on the QB and has the frame to add strength. McDonald has that. Last pick, Jaren Hall reminds me of Patrick Mahomes. -
Even though the defensive front 7 needs rebuilt, they have to get the offense right first. We cannot let Fields go to waste.

Just think the Bears beat the Texans by Roquan Smith intercepting Mills, runs it to the 18 and we kick a FG as time expired to end the game. We were that close to owning the 1st pick without Lovie telling the the ownership what he really thought if them.
-
He supposedly impressed at the senior bowl. I can see them going DT/DE.

I want the value I get using the pff mock draft simulator. Anything less and I will now be disappointed ?
-
They also wanted him to help get the oline up to speed with Getsy's offense.

The only reason I think Center could be taken high is because both Poles and Cunningham see the importance of having a great one. Kelce and Humphrey are top 3 centers in the league, maybe 1 and 2? If there is a guy like them in this draft, I can see them drafting him.

He does have faults, that is why he will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He has attributes you cannot coach which makes him interesting. He played NT or 0T, which is more sacrificing than glory. His job was to take control of the line and he did a decent job which allowed their Edge rushers to flourish. Put him back at NT or as a 3T where his job is to crash the B gap and with his burst may make him special? Either way if he doesn't loaf and buys into the system, he could be a good player.

Sign me up for Mazi. He is the number 1 athletic freak in the draft. 6-3 337 he is #1 for Bruce Feldmans freak list. Has rare strength and agility. Clocked 4.41 shuttle time which ties the best DT last years combine but at 337#, he would have the best time in over a decade.

I'm selecting other because I want to move down at least once to pick 4 and hopefully again. If Anderson is there at 4, would you trade pick 4 for pick 5 and 20 from Seattle, knowing Seattle takes him? Murphy/Wilson are your typical 4-3 DEs where Anderson is OLB/DE. I want a player that can be great run and pass pro. Breese imo isn't too far off from Carter either at DT. That is why i would like to move down twice.

There is no reason to save any money. The Bears are at a dangerously low level as we speak. The cap does take a 3 year average into account and the Bears will need to be big buyers just to get ahead of that 3 year average.
-
I am not falling in love with anyone because if you do then there is no reason to move down, just take him. Plus, I don't think Arz let's him drop past #3. I do like the thought of moving down to 4, 5 or 6. 6 being unlikely because it's detroit. Those moves should provide a future first and addition 2nds and or 3rds. I think Murphy or Breese can be great players and taken there.

Kancey has been sitting as a high 2nd. From Pit, like Donald, but he is small. Now I am liking Mazi Smith from Michigan. He is taller and heavier but as much an athletic freak and might make a better 3T. My mock tonight brings some size to DE and DT.
-
Anderson round 1, Kancey DT round 2. If this can happen while moving down and gaining picks the better.

I don't read too much I to blogs on fb or Twit because many commentators know little and only want to aggravate. Many times, algorithms are set up to aggregate you because you spend more time reading comments making yourself angry. If the Bears feel the same as I do, you give Fields one more year. You add around him to see if better talent helps him elevate. If he does not progress, then consider drafting QB in 2024. That is why trading down is key this year to make sure they gain an additional 2024 1st rd pick. -
I am in the same thought process. Monty is adequate but what would Alvin Kamara in his prime bring. If cannot land that weapon as a WR, why not try at RB or TE.
-
I heard it on Chicago radio and did not recall seeing it mentioned on here. Could be a way to acquire a stud or two.

We get first dibs after Superbowl until week 4. 2021 The waiver wire is ordered from worst to first. Following the Super Bowl until the day after the third regular season week. Then is goes off records worst to first.
-
Think about it this way. If Washington franchises Payne hoping to trade him but have no suitors, then remove the tag and cut him. The Bears would get the first opportunity to sign him. What other players might be on the bubble to be cut? There are always good players teams are forced to cut to get under the cap.
-
Good chance Indy is our trade down partner. This mock I land Quentin Nelson G, 1-4, 2-35, 3-79 and 2024 1st. Then at 4, trade down with Vegas for Devontae Adam's, 1-7, 3-30, 2024 3rd rd. Oline gets revamped, WR a strength, nee blood on Dline especially if they add a high FA like Payne.
-
Not sure if this was mentioned, but another huge advantage for losing is the Bears will get first chance on waiver wire claims. If Poles holds off on spending huge in the first wave, it might be because he feels he will spend a hefty amount on cuts.

All I can go off of is Washington stating they are signing him. Could all be for show but maybe they find a way.
