    Draft Day 2

All Rodgers needs is a WR that can get separation. Unless he has Marquez Valdez-Scantlin hands. I see him looking like Jordy Nelson catching deep balls.

    Draft Day 2

Poles is not tied to Fields and his goal is to build a team, not an offense. If Gordan becomes a good player, then it was a good pick.

    Draft Day 2

If Bears do not take WR Pierce, Colts have shown admiration to him and could take him.

    Draft Day 2

Aaron Rodgers next favorite target is Christian Watson WR. Thanks to the Vikings.
  5. Word was if the Bears do not take Pierce at 39, he will be gone shortly after. His value is higher than thought.
  6. Deebo and Metcalf both can be traded yet. This might be the craziest draft ever with the amount of trades.
  7. And how many traded...Hollywood Brown, Aj Brown, I would doubt GB trades their 1st for Waller.

I always had a different vibe about Pickens because of Wims and Ridley. Guess my vibe may have been accurate.
  9. I am feeling this and locking my guess Tyler Smith OT/G - Poles wants aggressive physical play for his oline style. Smith to a T. Alec Peirce WR- Bears went to his pro day. Guys has size and speed. Jordy Nelson 2.0? Phidarian Mathis DT - I changed this from Cook from Cincy bc i forgot about the Crushank signing. Mathis or another potential 3T.

I agree. Take a player who can give Jenkins/Borum a run for their money at LT and worse case that player moves inside to G. Maybe 2023 is our year to draft a stud LT and we should be in decent position.
  11. Good video. He has some players slotted different than many draft sites so it gives a refreshing perspective. I sure hope the the right lineman falls to us. I am not even sure what that is LT or RG.
  12. We will see. I remember all the strike outs Pace had to when trying to fill out the roster with 2nd and 3rd wavers. We have to give him a pass this year because he is working with a few nickles left over from Pace. Next year he will have a ton of cap and a full draft deck.

Getting a long term LT is the most important key to building around Fields. It may be Jenkins, Borum, a draftee, or a vet from FA/trade. If they take Smith and they think he is best fit at LT, then I hope they are good at their jobs and decided right. If the Bears do not grow with a prospect, they will never develop one. I hope they have one in Jenkins or Borum and if not I hope someone like Smith can grow up fast with NFL coaching. I wouldn't expect much out of the Bears next year. Hopefully run the ball often and get Fields playing quicker.

    I wouldn't object to Walker.

I read they were flipping them side to side early on to get a personal evaluation on what they see. Maybe both play on the Right side and the draft Raimann or Tyler Smith for LT? They may get a shot and if Smith is there they cannot miss out on him

This is tough and I think Poles makes it simple by taking Oline at 39 and Pierce at 48 or 71 if there?. My wishful thinking: A: Christian Watson - most gifted with athleticism for his size. Would be a weapon not only for getting deep against single coverage, but running jet sweeps or end around and even kickoffs. Having a QB that can run like Fields would make a fake jet sweep deadly. B. George Pickens - I think he progresses quicker as a WR and puts up solid numbers year after year as long as he stays healthy. His ability matches Dallas WR Michael Gallup. Pickens would be a solid X receiver. C. Alec Pierce - I like everything I see from him but question why he is slated between rounds 2-3. If we can get him round 3, I would ne amazed at out GMs skill. That means he gets OL, DT, or CBs in RD2.
  17. Not many teams need a center. The teams that do might have other needs that have a higher priority.
  18. They had Larry Ogunjobi in their early offseason sights, so meeting with Haskell was for rotational depth, not starter thoughts most likely. Now that Jones is slated to start there, maybe the invest a higher pick.
  19. The Bears met with Haskell Garrett at the senior bowl. I think he might be a 3rd/4th rounder and he is a 3T prospect.

I can see the Bears using a 5th on TE or a gadget RB/WR to replace Grant/Cohen. Bo Melton maybe?
  21. This was from a Poles interview earlier. Maybe he does put higher value in getting a lockdown CB than Flus does? Poles value chart. 1.QB, 2.OTs, 3. Pass Rush 4. CBs 5. LBs, 6. FS. Tells you how he might view the draft and FA. Bears may look OT and CB with 2nd and 3rd if they don't see a OLT on the roster.
  22. I completely agree here. A team should not be rewarded for signing a player on a one year deal when they move to another team the next year.
  23. It is good and bad. I guarantee if the Bears were in line for picks every year like New England, no one would be upset with the process. New England rarely has a pick in the top half of the draft, so they are like a factory that can develop players that are coveted in FA. Pls they don't need to buy players in FA because the next guy is there to step in.
  24. If Jenkins and Borum can lock down the OTs, then we are in better shape than imagined. Since they targeted G Ryan Bates, I almost think they have planned to go that route initially. Starting caliber Guards can be found round 3, that is almost the sweet spot for them.

I also think Seattle trades WR DJ Metcalf for a 1st RD pick during the draft. I would give them pick 39 straight up for him giving them 3 picks in a row. Otherwise, I would trade down unless a OL or WR is there that they want. WRs will be slim the way teams ate them up in FA.
