In 2010 Webb was a complete and utter joke and coaching staff named him starter at LT during camp. Anybody in there right mind would have at least had a competition. Yet nothing. That's a joke and u know it. And your the 1 who wants to go by exactly what Pompeii said. So I guess that means in your opinion as long as Webb doesn't literally fall flat on his face its his job at RT. I'm the 1 saying "IF" yet you continue to miss that part

I'm not taking anyone's word. I hope Pompeii is wrong. Simply put I want yo see a competition on the god damn. Is that so damn hard for u to comprehend. If you want to go solely off what he said without reading anything into then that would mean that Webb would literally have to fall flat on his face in order to lose job. Only 1 thing is gonna stop this conversation and u know it. Showing us that there is indeed a true competition going on instead of what some coaches have said. Coaching staffs have lied to media before and we all know it. Nobody here knows how this staff will be when it comes to answering questions. A ton of coaches always tell us what we want to hear instead of what the actual truth is

I haven't seen a true competition that Webb has had to battle yet so how do we know for a fact Webb was best man for the job. So twice and lovie "thought" after 2010 season in which we saw Webb get beat down so bad it made us cringe watching him play at RT. So they "thought" based on that he was the besy man to protect a franchise QBs blindside. If that's there "thought" and your "thought". Then question the intelligence going on here. No way in hell do make that assumption after 2010. Then after what we witnessed in 2011 with Webb there "thought" was he's the best man going forward? When your rated as the worst LT in the game its hard not to go up and even then he still wasn't good. Now I personally think that Webb could be the best guy for the job but if Scott outpermorms Webb in preseason and Webb is still starting I will be extremely upset with this staff

Possibly but its a lot to ask. Dudes never run a real route before. He's never caught a ball before. What happens 1st time he lines up and a DB comes up and smacks him in the mouth before he even gets into the route. That's a tall task to ask of him. Not saying hr can't do it.

No one is saying staff sucks or anything like that. Come on. Please explain to me what's wrong with having Webb compete with Scott and/or mills for the RT job. What harm could possibly come with having Webb prove to the coaching staff that he deserves that job. I can think of anything bad coming from it.

Bingo. Its awesome they bring in all kinds of guys but if what the writer said is true all those bodies mean Jack shit. All I'm wanting is a true competition in camp and may the best man win. That's it simple as that. If Webb is that guy then fine I will get behind that but if Scott outplays Webb or mills and Webb starts I will be pissed. Webb hasn't earned anything to this point except a swift kick in the ass. We can't pretend webb is this amazing player when stats say he hasn't been. Has improved each yr? Absolutely he has. Where in the article does it clearly state there is a battle. It doesn't. It specifically states that while Scott is there Webb would have to fall flat on his face in order to lose it. That's not a battle. If it was truly a battle that would mean if Scott outplayed Webb even a little that Scott gets the gig not Webb. That's all I'm asking for. If its quite clear no one is being handed a job outside of bushrod then why would that article simply state that its unlikely that webb will be given a push from anyone. Unless you believe that the writer if that article is saying that because Webb is light years better than any other person for that job. Sorry but u will have a hard time finding anyone that believes that. I bet SCS even thinks that Webb is better but someone could at least compete and push him

I've said from beginning that Webb will probably start however I've also said a thousand times that he can't be just given the damn job. His play hasn't ever been good enough to simply just give him starting gig without competition. I don't give a damn who the coaching staff is. U make it a competition and may the best man win. If Webb wins then fine I can get behind that but to simply give him a job does a complete disservice to everyone around. I personally want to see competition every where on the field so don't think for a damn second I'm just hating on Webb here. No one should ever be just given a starting job after doing nothing there whole career. Don't tell me about potential either of Webb. Its about what have u done for me lately. How can anyone justify giving Webb a job while being OK with letting cutler go at end of yr. Cutler has at least done something in his time here. I've heard reports from camp saying that jay has been looking martellus's way a lot so far to this point hoping to be able to read each others minds. I'm hopefully we will finally see cutler take down several franchise passing marks by end of season. Here's hoping at least
