  1. I say no. I guess it depends on the suspension. Certainly not if it's just a couple game. If it's longer, maybe I take a look at a 1-year deal for a veteran guy (Hines Ward?) to fill in, but it certainly doesn't push me to go WR at 19, unless your staff determines that's the best player available.

    Mike Bush

I like him, but if they went RB, I would have expected a speed guy, since Bell's a more of a banger (like Bush).
  3. If the concern last year was that he was not yet healthy (which was my read on it), and now he is, I think this would be a great move.
  4. Three year deal. They must be really worried about Knox's status.
  5. Disappointing, but doesn't really chance my feelings about the trade. Worst case scenario, we lose him for a couple games and have to push through with the same team that started 7-3 last year.
  6. Problem is, Wimbley isn't even a free agent yet, so you can't really move forward with him (there's even talks that the Raiders might restructure his contract).
  7. I don't think "Breaking News" means what you think it means.
  8. So, Brandon Marshall for Greg Olsen and a 3rd? Works for me.
  9. I've never loved him, but he's been pretty good since he's been here and I saw a tweet that said he didn't give up a TD last year. I'd like to see some competition at the starting CB spot, but this is a start.
  10. He actually said whoever signs him will be getting a top 5 RT, which is a little bit different. He'd certainly be an upgrade, but I get the feeling the Bears don't see Carimi as a LT.
  11. It's also interesting to note that Schefter was on Mike & Mike this morning and besides noting that the Bears were in on Mario, he also said they were talking to some of the top CBs in the FA pool. I find this quite encouraging, as it's a position I'm concerned about. I'm wondering if maybe someone like Tracy Porter or Aaron Ross is worth a look, depending on how the rest of the Bears' spending goes.
  12. Apparently Colston and the Saints are trying to work out a deal before FA starts today. The guy I'd go after is Robert Meachum. Got lost in the shuffle in NO, but he's a blazer, former first round pick, still young, and 6'2". He's been banged up, but not nearly as bad as Colston (two microfracture surguries).
  13. ZachZaidman Zach Zaidman Phil Emery: "I'm a very different person than Jerry [Angelo]." 59 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply I like him already!
  14. It has the Bears taking WR Michael Floyd. That'd be good with me. Interestingly, it also has Mohamed Sanu going before Alshon Jeffrey.
  15. The problem is, we don't know what kind of TE Davis can be because Martz's history demonstrates that he doesn't involve the TE in his offenses. Let's see what Tice does with him before breaking the bank for Finley or investing a high draft pick in a TE.
  16. I wouldn't trade, down I like enough of the WR prospects to stand pat. Even if Blackmon, Floyd, and maybe Wright are gone, I would be fine taking Jeffrey or Sanu and could even be talked into Dwight Jones (he seems to have more drops than I would like). They seems like Kenny Britt/Hakeem Nicks types around the same draft area who can make an impact.

    Jerry Gone

Not sure I like the Polian idea. It seems to me he just suffered from the same problem we saw with the Bears - being ill-prepared for an injury to the #1 QB. Plus, the recent drafting of the Colts does not fill me with confidence (though I don't know how much was Bill and how much was his son).
  18. Within 2 minutes is up the the booth. Lovie can't challenge.
  19. Please tell me you meant "fired" instead of "promoted".
  20. Yep. He would have been quite the stabilizing force on the offensive line.
  21. I didn't see much of the game, so I don't know how the various parts of the O-line played, but I wonder if the coaching staff would consider plugging Carimi at LT when he comes back. It seems to me Webb is as big a problem on the O-line as anyone, with his false starts and consistent missed assignments. The party line has been that he's a RT, but if Louis looks good at RT, maybe Carimi gets a shot. How did Conte and Wright look in the secondary? Not that the Vikings WRs are formidable, but just making sure tackles and not missing assignments would be a big step up.
  22. At least Martz did something once upon a time. Tice was the offensive line coach for a Vikings team that never accomplished anything. He was unspectacular as the Vikings head coach and bad as the Jaguars offensive coordinator. The offensive line has, if possible, gotten worse under Tice and Tice has given every indication that this is the group he wanted to go to war with. Part of his job is to prepare the offensive line to perform on game day, and he has shown no ability to do that. Do the players have to perform? Absolutely. But I've seen no indication that he has had any kind of positive impact on this team. Time to clean house, boys. Get rid of Tice. Get rid of Marinelli. Get rid of Lovie and the woefully outdated cover-2 (it doesn't work in the current pass-happy NFL). And take Angelo with you while you're at it.

    Cutler

He'll be demanding another trade after the season is over unless we get him some help (COACHES, WR, OL) Fixed.
  24. IMO, it's time seriously reevaluate the the stautus of the three "geniuses," as well as everyone else in this organization: -Martz is showing why he failed in Detroit and SF. I don't see any way he stays another year and I honestly don't know how you can keep him this whole season with this kind of disparity in run/pass. -Time to give Tice the blame he is owed. He assured everyone that he believed in this group of offensive linemen. Now, it's possible he's just covering for his GM, but three straight years with three straight subpar offensive lines tells me he is not doing his job one way or another. -Melton has been impressive, but that's it from the defensive line, and the Bears pass defense under Marinelli continues to be bad. I'm starting to think that given the passing-heavy offenses in the league, the cover-2 simply does not work because you can't limit mistakes, and evey if a team turns it over, they can outweight those turnovers with big plays. I honestly believe all these guys, along with Lovie and Angelo, are gone at the end of the year. And Cutler will follow in another year.
