As a fan of a franchise that is known for great RBs and LBs it is difficult to see this trend but, I get it. Lesson learned when Matt Forte played for another team. I've since put my focus on mid round RBs since the Pace Era.

I would consider myself an untrained eye because I never played football but, it seems Skoronski lets the defenders get into his space quickly and doesn't use power at the point of attack and more finesse. The arm length may truly be the reason because he doesn't look like he has his arms extended when engaged with a defender.

Truth be told AB I was trying to figure out a way to fit both Twins in my mock. I like Chase but, i think Sydney will have the better pro career.

Last year Poles drafted 2 DBs with his first 2 picks and that was unexpected. He then took somewhat of a gadget player with his 3rd pick. I'm clearly in a fog as to what he might do. This GM turned 5 picks last year into 11. I expect the unexpected.

One Bears history nugget , Waymond Bryant sacked Joe Namath as a Ram and ended his career.

Something Adam brought up before is when vets get released after FAgency, we are first on the waiver wire to pick up players . There should be a few gems there. I think Poles and Cunningham have the KC-Eagles heritage and will do a good job to upgrade the roster. So many places to add talent.
I seen where (PFF grading?) had Jones ranked 20 out of 84 OTs. Jenkins was ranked 3 out of 68 OGs We have a solid foundation to rebuild the OL in Free agency.
Impatiently waiting for free agency to start.
If vets get released after FA they are free to go wherever they feel they fit. The only players the Bears could claim are those placed on waivers like with Leatherwood. this is why they had to assume his contract. As you can see Pole is not afraid to do this.

The idiot that started all of this trade crap is former Dolphins and Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and mind you he's a former GM for a reason. He is the idiot who traded for an aging Brett Farve. He started this on ESPN's Get Up saying the Bears should trade Justin Fields and draft Bryce Young. Now I see why he got fired twice.
I for one want Poles to continue to build up this roster while he has a qb on a rookie deal before he has to decide to pick up the fifth year option and also lets see what he can do in his second year in this offense. If there is not significant improvement then find his replacement and I am not opposed to the Bears using a mid round pick on a QB. For example if Hendon Hooker is available in round 4 I would do that in a heartbeat. He would have to heal up but, I like the idea of getting an upgrade to what is currently in house in the QB room.

Right now the Bears have 4 players that have taken OC snaps. Whitehair, Mustipher, Patrick and Kramer the rookie who was on IR the whole season. At least 3 of those guys could be on the roster next year. So I'm not sure OC will be a top priority this offseason.

Stroud is better than Young. Maybe Levis too.
Mongo I am a big fan of you and your posts! Neither one of these QBs is better than the QB we currently have.

I don't see a skill position getting signed, unless it's Nelson Agholar or similar.
The running back position is pretty deep in the draft. I see us drafting one that can create more problems for a defense than Monty can. This is important because of our lack of dynamic playmakers elsewhere.. I also wouldn't be surprised if we get a dynamic "move" TE to pair with just to more 11 personnel sets.
The one thing that Monty brought to the table that Herbert, Ebner and a draft pick won't bring is blitz pick up. Monty got hurt this year doing it but, Fields got the throw off.
TBS the mocks having us taking Chase Brown mid rounds is okay with me because he is a similar runner to Monty and cheaper.

Will Anderson in the last game I saw him play was holding back IMO.
Jalen Carter in the first playoff game against OSU was ineffective because OSU doubled and triple teamed him most of the game but, in the TCU game he was an inside pressure presence. I'm leary of making negative comments about this prospect because he reminds me of Warren Sapp who had mysterious red flags about his character. The Georgia program has produced some pretty decent football players with character and this kid is back by his teammates.

I don't read too much I to blogs on fb or Twit because many commentators know little and only want to aggravate. Many times, algorithms are set up to aggregate you because you spend more time reading comments making yourself angry.
If the Bears feel the same as I do, you give Fields one more year. You add around him to see if better talent helps him elevate. If he does not progress, then consider drafting QB in 2024. That is why trading down is key this year to make sure they gain an additional 2024 1st rd pick.
Exactly my thoughts AB! Fields is still on his rookie deal and that gives the GM basically 2 off seasons to build before deciding on the 5th year option but, if there is not significant improvement in the passing game move on from Fields. I also like the thought of doing what the Niners did and take a 4 year starter or even a 5th year senior as a developmental prospect. I'm thinking Bennett, Hooker and the Minnesota QB who's name I can't remember that are all the same age as Fields.

I have followed the draft long before social media but, this year is completely different. Every Blog I have clicked on several so called Bear fans are saying trade Fields and draft Bryce Young. First of all this QB would be like Tua in game 1 and why are these fans not thinking, we have a qb on a rookie deal, lets build the team and see who our QB is!
Seeing all posts and comments on the Blogs and Posts has me drained right now!

I'm just wondering, Poles drafted an OC from Illinois named Kramer and he spent the entire year on IR. I'm wondering if he is in the mix next season.
If you look at Tevin Jenkins' injury history he cannot be considered reliable. The kid that basically sat out this year Carter (Poles draft pick) is he in the mix next year?
-
I liked Roquan but, it was obvious he would not except the discipline of this defense. The plays he made were him freelancing which is why he got traded. Good luck Ravens trying to sign your QB.

There are 3 players that were considered 1st round talents still available Joey Porter Jr, Will Levis and Michael Mayer. This helps push the edge rushers to 53
