My saying that AP is better then CB I'd compare with saying McGowan is better then Arch. Neither one is great, but you go with the lesser of two evils. As for AP's blocking, what do you expect from a 5-10 running back? He's not as good as Thomas Jones but at least he gets himself into position. I hope your correct that there is more upside with Benson. Either way, for whatever reason CB appeared to be better when he was the #2. We simply cannot continue with CB as our #1 when this coaching staff does not trust him. Do you think there's any chance in hell we'd consider letting CB throw a pass? Adrian Peterson is not a great running-back, but he's the best one on this team. I'd love to see us bring in someone else, but then what the hell do we do with Garrett Wolfe?

I have to agree we go with the best OT available. Although what surprises me is that I keep hearing people say that we'll draft a LT, and immediately move Tait back to RT. That's great in theory, but isn't there a huge learning curve? I'd much rather draft a LT and start him at LG for a year before making the switch. Especially since in the past Tait has wanted to know well in advance if he'd be switching positions. As bad as our 0-line play has been this season, it could be even worse with a bad rookie. As for the QB, we have to many other offensive wholes to fill before we address that spot. In other words, with a bad line, bad WR's, and bad RB's, our QB will suck reguardless. Hell, with the money guards are being paid, drafting a good replacement for Ruben Brown at #14 would be great. Supposedly there are good tackles who will be available via free agency. Either way, we need to fix the line before we can fix the rest of our offense.

I'm rather astounded there hasn't been more "love" for Adrian Peterson. AP is a complete back. He's a good receiver and he's a good blocker. He's also a "power runner" which is supposed to be ideal for Turner's system. He'd never be a pro-bowler, but he demonstrated that's he's easily the best running back on this team. While some are demanding that Orton should be the #1 QB next season, where's the love for AP? IMO AP should be named the #1 ASAP. The sad truth is, I don't see us bringing in anyone else. I'd love for us to dump Benson (today on the SCORE I heard him say that he wasn't going to do anything different this offseason . . . what a jack-ass.) There's no way we dump Wolfe. AP makes damn near the veteran minimum so it'd be pointless to cut him. So unless Cedric pisses off Tank Johnson (wishful thinking) we're stuck with the same crappy trio. Why not make the best of the 3 your #1?

I LOVE picking 14th. Ideally I take 11th, but 14th is good. We'll get a damn good player who's likely to be in camp on time and won't cost us an arm and a leg. Drafting a player in the top 10 who sucks totally effs your team up. (Thanks Cedric . . . at least we didn't draft Pac-Man Jones or trade up for Michael Vick. Will someone PLEASE explain to me why anybody would want a top 10 pick?) Drafting lower does hurt us in the later rounds, but the $$$ we save by staying out of the top 10 is well worth it.

Are any of those guys, Porter, Curry, Berrian, etc.., any better then the other? Hell, throw Moose & Bradley into that category and I don't see much of a difference. It's astounding to me how BAD Randy Moss looked with the Raiders . . . then he jumps to the Pats and sets records. I heard on the radio yesterday the Bears have had only one offensive skill position player, meaning RB, WR, QB, make the pro-bowl in the last 15 years. I've got a BAD feeling that if we paid Berrian, he'll be likely to regress. And if we paid someone to come in, we'll likely be dissappointed the way we have been with Moose. IMO, our WR's will be bad reguardless, so we're better off signing guys on the cheap, hoping Bradley/Hester/Olsen continue to develop, and looking to the draft.

Yes he has Marshaul Faulk who will be in the hall of fame, but don't forget that whenever Faulk would get injured he'd plug some guy you've never heard of (I can't remember their names . . . they are likely out of the league now, but I remember they helped my fantasy teams). It wasn't so much about the running backs, but the fact they had the best left tackle in the game in Orlando Pace, and at least two GREAT wide Receivers in Isaac Bruce and Tory Holt. IMO, if Martz were given this offense he'd look bad. Either way, I blame the majority of the Bears offensive woes more on the personal then on the coaching staff.

Briggs has played in the league for 5 years. Do you REALLY think this one game will make a damn bit of difference? If any GM lets this one game have an impact on whether or not they want to sign Briggs, then that GM is an idiot. Briggs has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a very good, but not a great player. He's consistent, rarely misses games, he gets good position to make the play, and he's a great tackler. IMO he's not worth the money they are saying he'll make, but that's true of damn near every free agent on the market.

That's not it. He earned his 70%, or whatever the enough time played was a few weeks ago.

Fenom below was correct when the Bears did this on either Sunday Night Football Versus Atlanta as a counter to Vick. We started off with Wale, Tommie, Ian Scott, Alex Brown, and Idonije. I thoght it was a stroke of genius on Chico's part. IMO, the thing that you are onto is starting 5 and dropping Mark Anderson back as a linebacker more. As a starter he's been torched against the run because he's not big enough.

Getting him the ball more sounds great in theory, but how the hell do we do that effectively??? Everytime we run a reverse, or a quick one yard pass, he's erased immediately. Everytime the play calls for him to go down-field he appears to have his helmet on back-wards. Not to mention that the last few games he's been on the field more, and his return ability appears to have suffered. This reminds me of last season when he was starting at CB and if hurt his return game. He's a great 3rd receiver because he's a weapon. Asking anything more then that hurts his return ability.

The other rumor about Briggs is that he has TWO other women pregnant. Yikes. This won't keep the Bears from signing him but it sure as hell doesn't help him.

Those comments from Lovie surprise me. Last week he said we were taking it just one week at a time. Unless I hear it from Lovie's mouth, I'm going to assume that it's speculation. That being said, you mention that Griese is not our future, but then who is? The sad truth is if Orton sucks (which I suspect he will), if Rex walks (I would if I were him), and we're unable to land a better QB in free agency, (I suspect we won't,) then we're looking at Griese as our starting QB next season. Granted, that's a lot of "if's" but IMO, from what I've seen in training camp, pre-season games, and 2005, Orton is mediocre at best. He has a very slow release, and his accuracy is lacking. I'd love for him to step in and be the guy, but I just don't see it happening. In 2005 Orton had a QB rating of 60 with a damn good o-line and a damn good running game. Sure he was rookie but I'm not expecting much better. This is going to be a LONG game tonight.
