  1. Bowers has boom or bust potential. It is tempting as hell. That being said, you write "JA Screws up again" every team in the league has passed on Bowers. If JA screwed up the Jets just did also.
  2. DON'T TRADE DOWN!!!
  3. I'd be thrilled with Carimi or Bowers
  4. Bears were trying to trade up and the Ravens missed the pick. In that time WR Baldwin goes, CB Jimmy Smith goes, and now RB Ingram . . . I suspect we were trading up to get Camrini. Did we screw up the trade and get the guy we wanted anyway?
  5. Bears were trying to trade up to get . . . ?????????????? New Orleans on the clock Camrini to the Bears?
  6. At the top under Important Links there is a link for the Bear's Chat room. Just click on it and type in your username. Pretty slow in there now
  7. 4 picks until the Bears. If Camrini is gone . . . can you imagine Bowers opposite Peppers?
  8. 1. The Pats were said to be trading up to get Cameron Jordan . . . Jordan falls and they take Solder 2. If Bowers is there at #29, don't we have to take him? 3. I predict Seattle takes Mallett.
  9. Who's having trouble in the Chat room? I get booted about every 20 minutes . . .
  10. Costonzo, Camrini, Solder . . . would you want Bowers at #29? Just asking.
  11. Hoping Ingram goes . . . that again helps the Bears
  12. The only reason is that teams are so desperate for quarterbacks they are making jackass decisions . . . that's great news for the Bears. Take those bad picks out of the equation and teams have done a good job.
  13. Loved that pick!!! Nick Fairley to the kittens on the other hand . . . not good. Not good at all.
  14. Look at it this way: What were our needs and who would we have drafted? We weren't drafting Nick Mangold when we had Kreutz
  15. Didn't we give up 2 firsts and a 2nd for Cutler and received a 5th in return? That's mind boggling they gave up more for a rookie WR then we did for a pro-bowl QB. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  16. Jake Locker over Blaine Gabbert??? WTF? WOW. My mock is shot all to hell.
  17. Aldon Smith going to San Fran over Blaine Gabbert . . . now that's interesting. Tennessee has to draft Gabbart . . . don't they?
  18. From Atlanta Cleveland gets 2 firsts, 1 2nd, and 2 4ths for Julio Jones. That's nuts for a guy who has drops.
  19. Nope. Too much money and the Bears like their cover 2 zone schemes more then a shut-down corner. I look for the Bears to continue to draft defense and pay big money for an o-lineman.
  20. It's not interesting yet . . . it's as expected. Dareus and AJ Green are gone. PFT is reporting TE Kyle Rudolph could go in the first round. I'm rooting for him and all the QB's to go off the board before the Bears pick.
  21. One thing everyone is forgetting in this argument is that the trade down allowed us to take Devin Hester. IMO, there's no way we take him in the 2nd round if we hadn't been able to pick up the extra pick. I maintain that if one of the top tier guys falls to us: Pouncey, Camrini, Solder, or Luiget falls to us, we jump all over it. If those 4 are gone, I'd be happy to trade down to #42 if it means picking up an extra 3rd.
  22. Here's my 32 team mock. I mainly included this to prove my stupidity. I'll add the Bear's picks shortly. 1. Cam Newton QB Auburn 2. Von Miller LB Alabama 3. Marcel Dareus DT Georgia 4. AJ Green, WR Georgia 5. Patrick Peterson CB LSU 6. Julio Jones WR Alabama 7. Blaine Gabbert QB Missouri 8. Nick Fairley DT Auburn 9. Tyron Smith OT USC 10. Jake Locker QB Washington 11. Prince Amakamura 12. JJ Watt DE Wisconsin 13. Anthony Costonzo OT Boston College 14. Corey Luigit DT Illinois 15. Mike Pouncey OG Florida 16. Ryan Kerrigan DE Purdue 17. Cameron Jordan DE Cal 18. Robert Quinn DE North Carolina 19. Aldon Smith DL Missouri 20. Da’Quan Bowers 21. Greg Camrini OT Wisconsin 22. Nate Solder OT Colorado 23. Jimmy Smith CB Colorado 24. Phil Taylor DT Baylor 25. Andy Dalton QB TCU 26. Jonathon Baldwin WR Pittsburgh 27. Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa 28. Mark Ingram RB Alabama 29. Marvin Austin DT North Carolina 30. Muhammed Wilkerson DE Temple 31. Danny Watkins OT Baylor 32. Cameron Heyword DE Ohio State
  23. You know this is a bad mock for the Bears when Mayock writes, "The Bears want offensive or defensive line help, but at this point in the draft, those spots have been hit hard. If a trade down isn’t an option . . . " I'd think we'd take Sherrod over Baldwin.
  24. From the Sun Times Neil Hayes: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...nsive-line.html It answers most of the o-line questions I've wondered about, such as: Question #1. Martz likes finesse guys who can block and Tice likes beef. Who wins? This quote sounds like Tice does, ‘"We’ve kind of shifted in that we want bigger people,’’ Angelo said. ‘‘So we’re looking for tackles who can play guard rather than guards who can play center. So there’s a little bit of a shift in our thinking that way philosophically. I know coach Tice wants bigger people. Staffs we’ve had before, they weren’t as committed to that thinking. But there’s a little bit more of a shift. So when we look at offensive linemen, we’d like to think that the tackles and guards can be interchangeable.’’' Question #2. We liked Chris Williams at LT and moved him because our guards were depleted. Why are we focused on the tackle position? Apparently Williams sucks, "There even have been discussions about moving Chris Williams to center, which would be a stunning admission for a team that drafted Williams 14th overall in 2008 to be the left tackle of the future . . . It wouldn’t be an ideal situation — not by a long shot. But after playing Williams at right tackle, left tackle and left guard with disappointing results, it might be the Bears’ last chance to find him a long-term position where he can be effective. It also would give Angelo a chance to focus on other positions in the draft."
  25. Toub - He's dominated year after year after year. Dude is the best ST coach in the NFL. For as long as he's been here, the Bears have not only returned well on kickoffs and punts, but they have covered extrememly well. Agreed. He deserves a fat raise. Martz - Has shown past brilliance, and was essentially hog-tied in his offense because of one of the worst OL in NFL history. I can't argue with that. I was thrilled when we hired him . . . that being said, he's lucky he wasn't fired on the spot after the Giants game. The o-line sucked . . . so quit passing the damn ball! Showed the ability to adjust when his offense wouldn't work and was directly responsible for a philosophy modifcation that changed the Bears' season. He was directly responsible for the modification? It's a rumor, but I assumed Lovie told him to knock the stupidity or leave. Week 17 vs. Green Bay, he reverts back to his old ways, again almost getting Cutler killed. If the offense does anything, the Packers don't make the playoffs . . . On top of that, do the Bears really need to change offensive schemes AGAIN? It would be nice for Cutler to get a chance with the same offense for more than one year. If he keeps getting Cutler killed it won't matter. As I mentioned, I was thrilled with the Martz hire, but the offense got worse and the Mad Genius looked incompetent. If Martz walks, he'll have had bad experiences with Detroit, San Fran, and Chicago. I can't imagine any team will make him their OC again. Make him earn it this year. If the offense performs, pay him. You don't reward a guy for incompetence.
