Bears | Tillman's status for Week 1 uncertain Comment (0) Thu, 10 Sep 2009 07:18:55 -0700 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports it is not known if Chicago Bears CB Charles Tillman (back) will be allowed to play in the team's Week 1 game. CB Zackary Bowman is expected to take his place in the starting lineup if Tillman can't play.
  3. LM: Why did the Bears chose to keep Rashied Davis and Devin Aromashodu ahead of Brandon Rideau? JA: Rashied has a role on this football team. He could be a good slot receiver if we chose to play him in the slot. He also has tremendous value has a special teams player. That in itself is why he has value to our football team. If you’re not one of the top three receivers, four, five and six have to be the best special teams players. So he’s got a real value for our team. Brandon was a close call. Obviously, we liked Devin Aromashodu a little bit better, and we’ll see if our assessment of our receivers was accurate. LM: Jay Cutler didn’t hide the fact that he felt Aromashodu should be on the final roster. How much of a factor was Cutler’s endorsement in keeping Aromashodu? JA: It’s great that our quarterback has confidence in our receivers, in particular Devin because Devin was kind of a wildcard. Nobody really knew him, but he grew on all of us. It’s great that he grew on Jay, too. Devin has done a real nice job. We really like his traits and what potential he has. He’s got deep speed. He’s big and he’s physical. When you look at him, no receiver that we have has the combination of all those traits. All of our receivers are a little bit different. This year I don’t know that we’re going to have a one, two and three. I see us at that position doing it by committee, and we like how they complement one another. We don’t have all the same type of receivers, and that’s a good thing. LM: What excites you most about the upcoming season, and what is your greatest concern? JA: It excites me that we have a chance to be a very good football team. Naturally, health’s always in there somewhere, and in this case it’s our secondary. We went without three players that we’re potentially counting on throughout training camp [in Charles Tillman, Zackary Bowman and Danieal Manning]. But we feel good about all of our positions. We feel good about our depth and the way we played throughout the preseason. Now it’s just a matter of doing it for real. I like the camaraderie on the team. I like the energy. And certainly we have enough talent to do well each and every Sunday.
  4. LOL I was thinking the same thing when I posted it
  5. Yes but we have to test the ground game first, because if that work it will be ground and pound then hit them short to middle and then deep. Then again maybe you're right start off deep to keep the ss and FS out of the box so its 7 in the box for us to block. .
  6. That would be nice!!!!Jacobs=Melton Great!!! I can here the medai players now if Melton made it as such Forte & Melton= Thunder & Lighting Smash and Dash 2 Hammer & Sickle Bear & Cub LOL (we have that in chi town already) any more that I'm forgetting?
  7. IMHO the key to this game will be our running attack and special teams play. The packers will throw the ball and get their yards, but if we stop their running game we stop the Pack Now our keys to winning will be Forte making plays on the ground and Olsen catching against the new 3-4 of the Pack and our special teams giving us good feild position and the Pack bad field position. The x factor will be our WR'S if we hit a few long ones with Hester Bennett and DA we will be in the best position to win. One last factor is that we need to get the lead in the game early to take the crowd out of the game!
  8. Since this was the position he started out with at Texas he could be a good FB with this run first team because of his size at 6'3 260 and how fast he is. As you saw he can run back kick offs too, LOL so we know he can catch also.
  9. Hiding him is the best way to keep him. I think that with all his skills he could be groomed to play fullback instead of DE. Look at Davis & Hester as they were moved from DB to WR same could happen here.
  10. I had the same thinking about Houston and Dan Orvlowsky......why?
  11. IMHO watching the games right now about 80% of the players are not wearing all the pads that are designed for the game as it is. If you look at the uniforms of the players you can see that they are missing knee pads, thigh pads, butt pads, and hip pads. Why.........to make them faster. QB, RB are not wearing the rib protectors. I don't see any neck collars, elbow pads etc. So what to they expect not to get hurt when you are wearing the pads? This is like driving without a seatbelt an getting into an accident and getting thrown from the car. This game has too many rules to protect guys from getting hurt, but I think that these same rules are the reason why so many are getting hurt. How can a guy going full speed to the QB stop on the dime and not use his body to tackle? Stupid
  12. Is it just me or does it look like Cutlers helmet is too big for him? In almost every picture I have seen thus far you can barely see his eyes! LOL
  13. Some times I really wonder what the Bears are thinking when they sign players. Now for this practice squad why do we need the likes of Johan Asiata ,Donovan Raiola, JoeClermond, they suck. I would have kept Kinder, Freeman,Woodny Turenne, signed Chase Daniels QB(redskins), signed Ian Johnson the RB (from the Vikings) put Louis on this squad and kept Buenning on the 53 man roster
  14. IMHO he is not taking a back seat to Cutler at all. Every team needs a leader on both sides of the ball we just didn't have it on offense. Now Cutler's here along with Urlacher so we have two one on each side. Defensive guys aren't good at intervies because we like to rip, tear block, tackle etc so we have the get out of my face mentallity. Guys on offense like the limelight because they like too dance and score points. Have you ever noticed hoe pretty the offensive guys uniforms are compared to the defense? LOL I know first hand from plainf in high school and college on both sides of the ball it's a different mind set from playing offense and defense and the media loves the guys that put up the points more.
  15. Isn't that the whole point? Better hands, speed, bigger target for Cutler, mismatches against samller LB's and DB'S and could be the third QB........why not sign the guy?
  16. Why grab a saftey when you are cutting a corner?
  17. 1st game 1st you don't get paid to siton the bench and act like you are hurt. Glad he back we are going to need him against the pack.
  18. IMHO we should look at the Bengals running backs DeDe Dorsey and Brian Leonard because they will be sweating out the final hours before the roster cutdown deadline, and either one of them is a good fit for the Bears. I like Leonard because he runs like a truck!!
  19. IMHO we shuold look at the Bengals running backs DeDe Dorsey and Brian Leonard because they will be sweating out the final hours before the roster cutdown deadline, and either one of them is a good fit for the Bears. I like Leonard runs like a truck!!
  20. Nice guy but it sounds like he now has a grudge against the Bears for cutting him, but he could go to an NFC team and still play against us. LOL
  21. IMHO what makes him think that an AFC team will want to sign him? Taolk about misguided!!
  22. IMHO I would have kept Hood over McBride, that would have given us more experience in the backfield. You can't do much with a team if you just practice for 3 days and then play in a game well for me anyway. I knoe others done think so as they thinked he sucked. But he started for the Cards and played in the superbowl with them.
  23. We need a younger guy not Lewis. He has too much wear and tear on him for this team.
  24. LOL and I agree that he should be out there looking around
