It was reported that the St. Louis Rams FS Oshiomogho Atogwe (shoulder, hernia) had reconstructive shoulder surgery following the season and is also fighting a sports hernia, so maybe this was the reason we did not go after him.

Well it's not fair to RB in college and switched to DB in the pros, Peterson was always a back up behind a higher priced guy, but when he did play he ran better than the starter and Wolfe ran outside the tackles in college but they try to run him between the tackles in the pros at 5'7, 170 give me a break!
-
Look at it in real time......there is a reason he didn't get drafted.
-
So what as long as he keeps the other team from making the big play...who cares if he breaks up the play or drill the WR either way the play is over.
-
Another one to go on the high priced FA who did nothing for their new team list.

PRO DAY RESULTS: Free safety Quentin Scott impressed scouts from eight teams at Northern Iowa's pro day on March 31st. Scott (6-3 7/8, 224) worked out as both a defensive back and a wide receiver and put together a really good workout. He ran a 4.40-second and 4.45-second 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap, 10-1 broad jump, 4.18-second short shuttle, 6.88-second three-cone drill and completed 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. His arms were measured at 34 5/8 inches. Ten of Scott's teammates and two players from small area schools also worked out indoors on Mondo track.

Well they still look better than the one the Packers will be wearing!

Now Ginn Jr is a 49er to team up with Crabtree

LOL now Ginn Jr is a 49er to team up with Crabtree.
-
I say still we go get Atowge from the Rams and draft Robert Johnson in the third and OT/OG/CB/DT the est of the way
-
good for depth.????????? I don't see it as depth IMHO we are getting another starting LB back, just like Urlacher.Roach, Williams and Hilly will be back ups again this year.

Bears | Olsen feeling good about role Comment (0) Fri, 09 Apr 2010 09:52:18 -0700 Sean Jensen, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears TE Greg Olsen said on his Twitter page that he has a great feeling about his role in the team's offense this season. He also said he wants to play in Chicago.

Thats funny isnt the saftey suppose to play deep center field. If we had one playing that way last year we would have beaten the Packers twice
-
IMHO i think that we are stacking money with the relseae of brown and Vasher and plaaying the waiting game to make offers to Atowge from the Rams and maybe Simms from Seattle
-
IMHO i think we should not move in the draft order. We have no ammo now without our 1si and 2nd round picks this year. We just need to make a move for Sims(OG) and Atogwe(FS) and draft BPA.
-
Hey this might be a move to clear up some money and get a pick so we can have some ammo to go and get OJ Atogwe the FS from the Rams!!
-
This might be a good move. I see what the Bears are trying to do. You have Peppers who can and does play from both end spots and so does Anderson. When you flip the during the game you can create lots of mismatches as to keeping Brown on the right and Peppers on the left. Then you have izzy and Melton as the back ups this year. Gilbert is going to play DT to go with Harris,Harrison and Adams. What this will do is create speed on the outside with Peppers ,Anderson Izzy and if Melton(converted RB) is ready to play he is much faster than Brown. Now Melton is the same height and weight as Brown, so its just about speed here with these two, but i will admit Brown has the experience at the position so Melton is the 4th DE in the rotation.

I was looking at our roster and found that we have not four but six TE'S in the stable. I know that some will not be around for long ang gusy are brought in to see it the fit our system and for camp purposes but look at the list below. So are we posied to kept 3 or four? 1. Richard Angulo 6'8 260 2. Kevin Brock 6'5 255 3. Desmond Clark 6'3 249 4. Kellen Davis 6'7 262 5. B Manumaleuna 6'2 295 6. Greg Olsen 6'5 255

Bears | Will listen to offers for Olsen Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:51:10 -0700 Updating previous reports, Neil Hayes, of Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears will listen to offers for TE Greg Olsen even though general manager Jerry Angelo has insisted he is not shopping Olsen. My question is if you are not going to trade him why listen? Sounds like a smokescreen to me. Bears | Could have interest in Grant Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:47:36 -0700 Neil Hayes, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears could have interest in unrestricted free-agent FS Deon Grant (Seahawks). Deon Grant is this worth a look? I thought he was out of football Bears | OL does not appear to be top priority Comment (0) Fri, 19 Mar 2010 07:44:32 -0700 Neil Hayes, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears apparently do not see the offensive line to be the their top priority at this time. Sounds like they are playing coy to get something they want

Ok we get your point, but can you please explain what happened with TO and the Bills last year. When he had actually two bad QB'S to talk about. I think him being with the Bears would bring some excitement to the passing game if he still has it but I just don't think he's the player to bring in for the Martz system. Walker might be a better option if he has recovered. He and Driver were killing us back in the day and he is a bigger target for Cutler at 6'3 215lbs than Davis(gone) Hester, Bennett, Knox

6'3 215 can catch....hell lets kick the tires and see how this baby runs
-
The answer to this problem is to get Urlacher back in the middle and sign O.J. Atogwe from the Rams!
-
Yes i read that article as well, but we need to go aftrer O.J. Atogwe because he is a saftey not known for the tacking ability of others but he is a great cove guy. O.J. Atogwe showed surprisingly well tackeling by the list of other safties with a TIR of just 5.08. With that being said the Bears need to make a serious run at this guy to replace Bullocks/Payne.

Bears can pull the plug on Peppers after one year Posted by Mike Florio on March 8, 2010 11:07 PM ET We mentioned earlier tonight some of the details relating to the Julius Peppers deal. We've picked up some more information about the contract, and it's now clear that if the Bears clean house after the 2010 season, it'll be easier for the new regime to bid Peppers adieu. As Peter King of SI.com pointed out this afternoon, Peppers gets $20 million in 2010 (all but a $100,000 workout bonus is guaranteed). But the $22 million in guaranteed money that he's due to receive in 2011 and 2012 is guaranteed for injury only. This means that the Bears can decide after the 2010 season to cut Peppers for skill reasons -- and they'll owe him nothing. Specifically, Peppers' 2011 base salary of $900,000 is guaranteed for injury at the time it's signed; on February 10, 2011, it becomes guaranteed for skill. Also, a $10.5 million roster bonus due in 2011 is guaranteed for injury at signing. On February 10, 2011, it becomes guaranteed for skill. An $8.9 million base salary in 2012 is guaranteed for injury at signing and then for skill as of February 10, 2012. Finally, $1.8 million of Peppers' 2013 base salary is guaranteed for injury only. So, basically, if the Bears decide before February 10, 2011 that Peppers isn't what they thought he'd be, they can treat it as a one-year, $20 million deal, and walk away. Also, by our calculations the actual guarantee is $42.0 million, which comes from a $6.5 million signing bonus, a $12.5 million roster bonus in 2010, a $900,000 guaranteed base salary in 2010, a $10.5 million guaranteed roster bonus in 2011, a $900,000 guaranteed base salary in 2011, a guaranteed base salary of $8.9 million in 2012, and a $1.8 million base salary guarantee in 2013. Still, only $19.9 million of the money is guaranteed for skill. If the new coach and G.M. decide that Peppers doesn't have enough of it to justify the remaining money, Peppers could be out of more than $22 million that supposedly is destined to land in his bank account. And there's also a chance that Peppers could be in trouble even if the current regime survives. If the Bears get to the postseason without much of a contribution from Peppers, coach Lovie Smith and G.M. Jerry Angelo likely will be back. But maybe they'll decide to cut their losses on Peppers. If nothing else, Peppers still has a reason to try to play hard, and the Bears did a great job of structuring the deal to allow themselves the opportunity to declare that the move was a mistake -- and to avoid more than $22 million in guaranteed compensation.
