I dont know about you guys but for me cutting R Davis and moving Bennet to his spot is a no brainer. Then you go and get Vincent Jackson and put him and DA on the outside WR spot and Hester,Knox and Bennett in the slot. We then shorten the 7 step drops to 3 with quick passes to the speedsters and make the D move back(as in the Dallas game). We then use our screen game!! We need a big WR for Cutler to throw to other than Olsen period!!!!! Moss, Jackson, anybody.

When he has a rating over 100 he is 17-0 in all the games he has played in

IMHO I would go after Jackson and get rid of Bennett and Davis. Not that I don't like the two but I would rather the Bears have two speed guys Hester & Knox and two tall bodies DA and Jackson and groom Iglesias to take Davis spot on special teams.

September 16, 2010 Bears sign reserve linebacker Wilson to one-year deal By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 9/16/2010 11:08 AM LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Thursday signed linebacker Rod Wilson to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wilson replaces Hunter Hillenmeyer, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday due to a concussion he suffered in the Bears’ third preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. Wilson was selected by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2005 draft. After missing his rookie season with a knee injury, he appeared in 28 games in 2006-07, recording 30 special teams tackles and 12 stops on defense. After being waved by the Bears in 2008, Wilson appeared in eight games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009, recording two special-teams stops. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent this past offseason but was released after the preseason. Wilson will wear No. 58 in his second stint with the Bears.

On beating the Cowboys......I think we need to have the same effort from the Defense this week as last. But if Peppers can put Romo out it would be a plus. Now i don't wish that but! Now lets see the Boys have Austin,Bryant, Williams, Hurd and Olgetree as WR and Whitten at TE so I think that we are going to try to cover more with the nickel defense.Lacker & brigger can stop the 3 Cowboy RB'S so thats not a problem there. I think that keeping Romo in the pocket and letting Pepprs chase him will be the difference to our offensive game. If we get good field position like we had in the Lions game we will be a different team. We are going to have to block the 3-4 meaning more short passes underneath to Hester and Forte/Taylor to stop their rush. Their back four in the secondary are not that good and can be beaten with our speed...if we have the time( Go O-line) I think we get something long in the return game as well......Bears 24 Dallas 17

It was said the the Bears plan on signing Rod Wilson back to the team once again to take Hillenmeyers spot.

I don't think signing Adalius Thomas is right for the Bears. He is a 3-4 system guy and at 6-2 270 pounds much too big of what we need at LB. Now if he could play DE it might be a different story.
-
LOL!! hey wait a minute there is a guy that plays for the Carolina Panthers named Captian something or another.
-
IMHO we need to put Shaffer at LG and just plain cut Garza. Garza can't block anyone and is always getting pushed backwards, maybe his knees are bad or something.

That maybe true about the pump fake, but playing on the hash mark means you have that side of the field and with no other Wr in the arae then the outside man is your only responsibility. he should have cheater over to the sideline a bit more and that would have canceled the pump fake
-
One thing I noticed is how was are playing cover two with both safties on the hash marks, but #46 Harris can not get to the outside sideline WR which caused a touchdown. This means he is either too slow or making bad reads. When I played saftey in college we were taught to stay deeper that the deepest WR. He had a TE in front of him which was the LB' S duty so there was no reason for the pass to be caught for a TD. Bottom line is he should have been there.

For me it would be DA and Hester starting with Knox/Iglesias/Bennett in the slot & 4/5 Wr sets. Davis is lost in this due to lack of wiggle, speed and hands. And he's the shortest also. So here is what we have at WR. Hester = Speed & wiggle, Knox = Speed & wiggle, DA = Speed, Bigger target, Iglesias=Wiggle, Hands, medium speed Bennett =Hands, medium speed Davis = Medium speed, special teams leader

First the Bulls made the playoff, then the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup are the Bears next in line? I hope so. I would also love to see(NEVER GONNA HAPPEN) the Cubs play the Sox in the World Series.

I read that OL Kevin Shaffer is no longer in the mix to be the starting left guard, and the fight will be between OG Johan Asiata and OG Lance Louis will compete for the job. So where does this leave Beekman as a back up? Is Shaffer that bad at OG and will be a back up OL? Does Tice think that Asiata and Louis are doing so well that one of them will be the starter this year? What are your thoughts?

Free-agent FS Oshiomogho Atogwe (Rams) became an unrestricted free agent late Tuesday, June 1, according to Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Atogwe is free to negotiate with other NFL teams because his agent, Ken Landphere, and the St. Louis Rams could not reach agreement on a multiyear deal. The club then declined to sign Atogwe to a one-year tender for $6,976,000 - his 2009 salary plus 10 percent. Although the Rams no longer have exclusive rights to him, they still could sign Atogwe, and league sources indicated that talks would contuine, but the question is do we need him. After siging Harris and drafting Wright where would they fit. I would move Harris to SS and Atogwe to FS but Wright would be the odd man out. Manning should be used at the nickel. That would give us apretty good back end.

IMHO past players of a team should be nothing but supportive of that team win or loose. I love the Bears no matter what and take offence we they are talked about badly and defend them with every breath. But on the other side of the coins I do point out at times that we do need players that can play and question some of the players we pick up or not pick up. Me I would have never signed Bullocks, Pace, and a few others at all, but that's just me.Its all about loyality to your team. Butkus, and Sayers are right and so is Urlacher to defend the Bears and his team.

Seems like we are adding players for the LG spot to see who will win the job.

The Bears on Thursday signed undrafted rookie free agent Vince Vance, a guard from Georgia who participated in the team's rookie minicamp April 30-May 2 on a tryout basis.

Smiley's shoulder is shot. The Dolphins know it. The San Francisco 49ers knew it when Smiley signed with Miami as an unrestricted free agent in 2008. Smiley missed the final eight games of the season with the shoulder that required surgery in 2007. He injured the shoulder again in 2009 and missed one game and was a backup in three others because of that injury. The 2007 surgery apparently didn't go very well. Smiley, according to two sources, has lost strength in the shoulder over the past two years. He often struggles to lift his right arm over his head and has lost some of the punch and explosion generated at the shoulder. That wouldn't be a problem for a school teacher. But Smiley makes his living as an NFL offensive linemen. He is supposed to push and punch at 300-pound defensive players and the torque for that is generated at the shoulder and elbow. For Smiley, the shoulder isn't generating the necessary torque.

Shaffer is playing LG in camp right now because Beekman is playing center. You are forgetting that Kruetz is still out recovering from the surgery he had on his ankle. But if he can beat out beekman then it might be an upgrade.
-
Yes but if he sucks he sucks and there is no need to bring him in

Panthers safety Chris Harris tweeted that he is headed back to Chicago in a trade. The move could involve a veteran linebacker from the Bears. Harris confirms the trade is not official yet. Harris was dealt in 2007 for a fifth-round pick to open up playing time for Adam Archuleta. That didn't work out so well. In Carolina, Harris had three workmanlike years, missing only four starts. He may just be league average for a starting safety, but average would be a big upgrade for the Bears.
