Here's one from The Athletic that discusses our roster from three scouts' perspectives. https://theathletic.com/4838561/2023/09/07/bears-2023-roster-scouting-report?source=user-shared-article

Davis is a concern. Talk out of Tennessee is that Vrabel "hates" Nate Davis the football player and was glad to see him go. Money was not the reason, because they signed his replacement to a similar contract. It had also been said, that he will not suit up unless he is 100%. As a whole, I'm extremely concerned about our OL. At the end of the draft weekend, I thought we were mostly covered with the drafting of Darnell Wright the prior signing of Nate Davis. So, now we have Wright dealing with an ongoing ankle issue as a rookie. Davis had one padded practice the entire of season. Patrick is oft injured and not our first choice at center. Cody has a brace on his right hand and replaced Jenkins, who I am on record with not trusting to be a professional. Lastly, Jones is the only Iron man for the second year in a row. 80% of our OL is starting the season below optimal health and continuity. Fu@k!

Everyone should be sleeping on Fields until he shows that he can get rid of the ball. People compare him to Lamar, but Lamar has never hesitated to pull the trigger or run. Fields needs to cut the sacks and batted balls in half this season.

I think Flus and Poles are safe regardless of Fields. You can't develop what can't be developed.
-
Fields is the hot seat.

It's weird. The only other times I can remember this happening were after our two Superbowl appearances. One repeat chance ended with a Charles Martin body slam, while the other eroded away with "Rex Grossman is our quarterback". This time around, we'll get to root for up and coming players.

Unveil the player please...
-
Thought y'all would like this. And yes, it includes some deep throws.
-
As they should. I think every game, in our schedule, except two are winnable.

He can stay on the bench until someone gets injured. That may open his eyes a little further than two years ago did. I'm not his doctor, but if there is a chance that him being hurt plays into his conditioning, maybe he'll take it more seriously. If he is putting in the needed work and it's simply injury prone, time to move on.

Damn, you gotta story to tell. Glad you are ok brother!

You can also list players that in the same position upgraded, due to being young and improving. QB, LT, SS, RB, nickel and swing tackle.

I'm at 7. If Justin is a star, 10.
-
You're right. FWIW, it's not my opinion. I trust the coaches to assess. (Until I don't)

The cards cutting McCoy should be investigated by the NFL. The Cardinals are blatantly tanking. Place your money on the under for them.

I can’t agree with that at all. They held him out of the Indy game because practice went well. Against Buffalo he got maybe 10 plays. Those aren’t actions of a team wanting a guy to improve via more reps. In the first game he only threw short passes. Kap's sources come from trusted sources within Halas Hall. Another point to consider is that Kap works for the official station of the Bears now. Why would he jeopardize his longstanding reputation with the organization when his bosses just landed the team? FWIW, Jurko stated how much the team loves Justin and that they have full confidence in him. He went on to compare him to Lamar Jackson, in the sense that Justin is similar in needing to develop his passing skills, yet Jackson is beloved by his teammates for the same leadership skills. Kap doesn't need the clicks, as he is already the big dog in town. In characterizing his comments, you amped it up by choosing the word "horrible" when he never said anything close to that. No need to pour gasoline on the rumor.

I heard this morning, on the Kap and Hoody show, that Fields has not made any progress on getting the ball out of his hands quickly. Kap's sources tell him that Fields has not had a good camp. In the meantime, we aren't hearing anything to refute it from the brass. More to come...

Terrell Lewis should make the team. He was effective in all of the preseason games.

Lord Poles was in the booth taking to Thayer and Joniak and seemed to really like Bagent. He also spoke very highly of Dexter, Stevenson and Pickens.

They have the least expensive QB's in the league. They can clown how they want to clown for the next 3 years. But, all those picks would be nasty. It's Lynch's curse for screwing us over...?
