  1. Benson screwed up... but the defense gave up what 50 some yards as well too. And Im guessing the Bills werent going to kick a fg no matter what so all they had to do was prevent a TD and they didnt. Its all good though 40-0, 40-7 we win is the bottom line. Also now the defense is angry and we might see even better results next week.
  2. no point in risking an injury. Plus gives Griese some gametime even if its a blowout incase something does happen to Grossman.
  3. but he also has thrown a couple near int. Overall he has been alright today but not as sharp as he has been for most of the season.
  4. just keep scoring is the key... and take time off the clock.
  5. He wont replace Brown or Ogunleye anytime soon but prob will be on in relief for them much more as the season progresses. Over the other replacements Idonije, Boone etc.
  6. lol for 1 I didnt draft him, and its not elusiveness because if it was that he wouldnt be avg. 3.1 ypc or something near that. He spends 2 much time dancing in the backfield like I said and what should be 5 yard gains end up being 2-3. Also you just happened to ignore the fact where I said almost always when benson is in the opposing team is assuming run, kind of like against Seattle when Desmond Clark was in you could pretty much assume we were passing it and he is probably one of the targets. And Benson always seems to break the first tackle as well way moreso than jones so I dont know where your coming from saying he cant break tackles.
  7. Benson hasnt been great no doubt about that, but rather than looking only at stats watching the game helps a lot in seeing the kind of player he is. He almost always breaks the 1st tackle it seems and he doesnt dance around as much as Jones. The run blocking hasnt been pretty for either RB but when Benson is in the defense usually assumes run and they seem in the backfield quicker as apposed to TJ. Even for TJ's really long run he had like 3-4 cuts b4 getting in the open field. Most of the time that gets him tackled right away and like the first drive of the game when we try to establish the run its 3 and out. At this point I think they both need time in the game, id say like 70/30 with TJ prob being the 70 still. Also TJ has missed blocking assignments, I didnt see any vs Seattle but I have the other 3 games. Grossman is more mobile than you seem to give him credit for plus he throws it away a lot right b4 getting tackled. One of the advantages of having a very quick release. Also id say Benson is much better at breaking tackles than Jones, who usually goes down pretty quick.
  8. I was really pissed on draft day, but basicly same as the NBA draft after a night to get over it I was feeling much better about it.
  9. oh yeah, our offense might be better than that 85 team, i was just balking about the Thomas Jones almost as good as Walter Payton comment.
  10. you said Payton was hardly better than Jones, or he was better but not by much actually is what you said. And that is just insanely dumb. That statement is at the very least, Payton was arguably the best ever if not top3 easy. Jones is on his 3rd team and for a large part of his career has been considered a bust. His best season was 1300 yards and this season, 4 games into it, he has yet to record a 100 yard game. Also you said the height of his career in 1985, when that was actually more like the end of his career so I dont know how that makes sense. Also it took Thomas Jones on his 6th season to finally reach the 1000 yard mark where he eventually ended up with 1300. By Paytons 6th season in comparison the only season he didnt get more than Jones career high was his rookie year. So yes, there is no comparison, to mention thomas jones in the same sentence in walter payton is just wrong already. Also just to add in 85 Walter rushed over 1500 yards.... again over Jones career best. And his avg. rushing was 4.8 a carry while Tjones is at 3.3 this season.
  11. your either the biggest Jones homer on the entire planet or your football knowledge is 0.
  12. If the question was who is better the "O" or "D" than the obvious answer would be the defense. But if your asking whose been more impressive it has to be the O because of what we got from them last season and the fact our defense was able to carry us to the playoffs without an offense so we already knew what they could do.
  13. Again, besides Berrian and Moose which one of our WR's have really stood out. Davis is nice but he isnt really a playmaker or anything, id want him more of a 4th WR than 3rd. We already know Gage isnt that good unless he is blocking. And Bradley has almost been just as injury prone as Currie. Even Berrian has been hurt a lot in his short career. Currie will be back next season but if he is hurt again or just is horrible in pre-season than yeah it will be end of him.
  14. i very much doubt he gets waived in the off-season.... he will be back nextseason for pre-season at the very least. I also kind of like the Maxey pickup though
  15. no doubt but that doesnt mean we cant talk about it, even though TJ had 2 TD's today in the future I think Benson might be better in those situations. Also against a tough D when we used both backs we had a lot of rushing yards so that shows you something.
  16. this game is far from over but man we are looking awesome right now.
  17. I want TJ to start but want Benson in goaline situations for realz.
  18. Jones is proven? He has been in the league for what 5-6 years somewhere around that and has had 1 good season in all that time. And even 1300 isnt really amazing compared to a lot of the better RB's have put up in recent seasons. This is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. The fact is he has sucked horribly this season and he has missed his blocking assignments a number of times too. Benson is unproven yes, but he really cant do much worse than what we are already getting from the running game at this point.
  19. were you sick about hearing how good Rex Grossman was going to be too?
  20. What would be the point of cutting him now? If he isnt ready to go next season after the pre-season than yes let him go but no point in cutting him now.
  21. The good thing is with Manning jr. we have a pretty solid 3rd CB to play against their WR sets. None of the Seahawks WR's are really what id call Burners so I think Peanut will be fine as well. Our D-Line really is going to be most important though, with all those good WR's not going to want to blitz much.
  22. John Clayton or whatevr on Mike & Mike in the morning was saying that Morris is almost better for the Seahawks this week against us instead of Alexander
  23. Yeah this was the first game where I actually saw the O-Line open up some holes but Jones didnt really go through them at all. This is 3 games now where our run game has gone no where, and there have been a number of times ive seen TJ mess up on a blocking assignment too so im sick of that excuse. Im not saying start Benson but I want to start seeing him get a significant amount of carries.
  24. This game will probably be tougher considering it was a division game and we were in a dome...we played bad though. Next week maybe the hardest game of the season for us so good thing we are home. And good thing Rex had a game like this going into it so its not all rosy.
