Move up, your 2nd for Flacco/henne?
I don't like moving up to get someone. First I would see what falls to us at 14. If all the OL come off the board early and there is nothing left, then I would move down and consider taking a QB in the mid to late 20's.

Henne at 14?
No way Henne at 14. Like you said, I could see us trading down in the 1st, picking up an extra 2nd, and maybe take a QB late in the 1st. I just don't see all these QBs going by pick 44 though. If that happens, then the Bears will get a really solid pick other than QB available to them at 44.

Boldin requesting a trade
Wouldn't you say that to maintain leverage? Once you say you are willing to trade, the power shifts to the player/agent and other teams.
-
Allen to be traded to Minny?
Done deal. Change the Mocks, KC is getting #17 and will more than likely go DE with pick #5. That helps us. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...224&id=2837

Boldin requesting a trade
Would you be willing to give up to get him? or would you just pass on him because he will pull the same crap in 2-3 years?

Poll for Pick #4

The Roger Goodell thread
Did anyone alert DB that he is on the clock? He posted in the main forum last night.

Poll for Pick #3
"With the 3rd overall pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU" This was a tough decision for Atlanta between Dorsey and Ryan, but management felt that Dorsey was too good to pass up. Next up, Oakland. Pick #4 Poll here: http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2251

Shaun Alexander is released....
I'm just hoping that one of the teams looking for an RB pick him up, which allows an RB to fall to us (maybe in Rd 2).

Question for Posters
Might be a good idea to pin a topic about board features under the Help Section. I'll see what I can throw together.

How hot could our pick be?
They would also get another 3rd and maybe a 4th in 2009.
-
Poll for Pick #3
3 more for Dorsey or 7 overall and we can move on to pick #4.

Is anybody excited about Jeff Otah?
Hester was projected as a 3rd round pick because he had no real position. Drafting a return specialist was still rare even though it happened periodically. The Bears even got brutal grades for that draft, which is funny now: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/dr...ft-grades_x.htm

How hot could our pick be?
nfo, It seems like the hottest slot will be right around our pick since we also have a need for RB. So if you include DET, ARZ, HOU, and DAL, that would be picks 14-16, 18, and 22 all looking for RB help. I would love for DAL to jump up to us and give us their 22 and 28 for our 14, 70 and a dptbnl. Barber is over-rated and they lost Jones.

Is anybody excited about Jeff Otah?
2002 was the last time we drafted an Offensive Lineman within the 1st 3 rounds. Drafting one high is long overdue. They probably should've drafted one instead of Bazuin or Wolfe last year. I wouldn't be surprised if 2 out of the first 4 picks are on the O-Line. Sometimes the unflashy picks are the best. Anderson in the 5th, Brown & Vasher in the 4th, Briggs in the 3rd, and Hester in the 2nd.

I can contribute as needed. When would the page be up?

Question for Posters
I just change it at My Controls > Board Settings > Number of topics to show for each forum page, and change it to 40. If you are talking about a new default, then it doesn't really matter for those that have already changed theirs correct?

Jake Long #1
If they can put a salary cap on a team, why can't they put salary caps on rookie contracts? Basically make it like the Franchise Tag system. A top 10 pick can make no more than the average of the top 10 players at his position, or something along those lines. Then just taper it down as the picks get lower. Also, put some stipulation in there that says that rookies must play out their contracts without any new negotiations. Make it similar to baseball arbitration.

Poll for Pick #2
Based on the votes, the St. Louis Rams select Chris Long, DE, Virginia. Pick #3 up here: http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2244
