Well you know what I think haha. I still like this Greg Little from UNC. The Bears desperately need a big time WR who's not under 6'0 tall and not 180 pounds.
They should do nothing. It was the Bears fault they didn't get the deal done in time, regardless if it was for the same player they got at 29 that they wanted at 26.
Nah, Sidney Rice would be better. He's first on my pecking order in terms of FA WR's. Holmes would be nice though because he has good hands and obviously is a very reliable play maker in crunch time. I think he gets resigned by the Jets though.
And you don't know that.
Interesting nugget here from Biggs column...
"If Carimi had not been available, the Bears were poised to select Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea."

Not to say he's lying but what else was he suppose to say? "Yeah actually I wanted to get Baldwin at that spot, but I couldn't get the trade done in time, so we settled for Carimi."
That's debatable. A #1 receiver is a major need on this team. Baldwin is Brandon Marshall 2.0 IMO and we have already seen what Jay can do with a receiver like that.
Well the guy we should have taken is Jon Baldwin but JA pissed that away when he muffed the trade with Baltimore. Supposedly that's the guy JA was trying to trade for.
Bowers was the best available player we could have gotten. He's going to make more of an impact on defense than this carimi guy will on offense. Knowing how JA picks offensive lineman, this guy is probably going to be the next Chris Williams.. Waited all damn day to see Bowers fall right through us. I am beyond pissed off right now.
Lots of guys still left. The Bears should have some good options to choose from by 29. I might even think about trading up a few spots to get a guy that's fallen more than you thought. Should be interesting.
Steve Smith is another tiny receiver that is past his prime. Sure he'd be better than anyone we have still, which isn't saying a whole lot, but I'd rather take my chances on Baldwin or Sidney Rice before Steve Smith.
If the Bears don't pick Baldwin, we better get Sidney Rice. This team won't get anywhere with Johnny Knox and Devin Hester as its #1 and #2 receivers. None of those guys have the ability to be a major threat at moving the chains. We need that Marcus Colston type receiver that might not have that stretch ability but he definitely can go up and grab a ball, and is a guy you can rely upon to make a big catch when it matters. I think Baldwin can be that type of player.
