Bears offense has to get 7. If not, go for it on 4th down. As I said before you HAVE to score against the Patriots and were playing conservative.. -

Offense HAS to score points. Should have gone for it there. You have to score points against the Patriots, there just going to march down and score again here and if they do its game over. Defense has to get their head out of their asses! -

Why in the hell was Urlacher standing behind the receiver? He just stood there. How bout trying to get in front of the guy that's just sitting at the goal line? This isn't basketball. Stupid. -

Wow. Defense has sucked ass to start this game. Harris should have picked that off. Not looking good right now. -

That was like the longest 10 yards I've ever seen. I don't know how we didn't get a first down out of those two Matt Forte running plays.. -
If the Pack lose today and the Bears win, the Bears can clinch the division next week! Here's to hoping the Lions don't choke and the Bears can take care of business against the Patriots!

Toughest game of the year so far for the Bears I think. Let's hope they come ready to play. This miserable weather will help the Bears on defense as it will likely limit the Patriots passing attack a little, just as long as the Bears tackle well. Matt Forte becomes a huge key for a Bears win today. He will probably get close to 25 carries in this game if he can tack off 125-150+ yards on the ground with a touchdown or two the odds shift heavily in our favor. It will not only keep the Bears offense out on the field but it will setup the play action for when we get close to the goal line. If there are two things that we need to do to win this game it's establish the running game and sack Tom Brady multiple times and hopefully force him to throw a pick or two. The Bears defense is going to need to be forcing alot of turnovers in this game and I think they can do it! -
Schlerith has become a forgotten man now that guys like Dildo and Hasselbeck have come to the forefront. Steve Young annoys me to because he's so condescending. The way he speaks is so arrogant and he continues to dis Cutler despite his good performances in the past few weeks. Although he did say he can see the Bears in the superbowl if the defense carries them and Cutler takes less risks with the football. Dilfer gives us ZERO chance but his reasons are so hypocritical that you can't take him seriously.

That would be sick if both Webb and this Johnson kid could actually turn into something nice. So far Webb though has shown that he's the worst OL in the league and can't pass block to save his life or Cutler's. He's the real issue on this line. I guess he is just a rookie but it's hard to expect anything out of a 7th rounder. We will see what he's really made of at the start of next year.

The game this week and the last game of the season scare me the most. I don't think the Jets are that scary because they don't have a good quarterback and if we shut down there running game we can beat them. The Vikings game is a little scary just because we play them in Minnesota and they no longer have Chilly as a coach.. I still think it's going to come down to the Packers game on the last game of the season unless the Packers somehow lose two more games before we play them. If we win this week I think you can pretty much lock us in for the playoffs.
-
yeah but my question is why do you have to do that? And why aren't opponents making the bears stretch the field now? The game doesn't change, and I see no reason why the Bears won't be able to continue doing what they have been doing since the Bye, even in the playoffs.
-
I was just thinking the same thing. If we played the way we are playing now all season we actually might be undefeated. People forget that we were still in that Giants game despite the 10 sacks. If Cutler had played in the 2nd half who knows what would have happened. But that's just how the NFL is, you have to make adjustments and the Bears did after the bye. Running the ball is making it alot easier for Cutler and with the way Martz is calling his passing plays it fits Cutler so well. He flourished in the Shanahan offense throwing short quick passes and that's what he is doing now.

I can't stand these two people. Two of the most clueless people I've seen on TV. Dilfer is just flat out ignorant. His reason for the Bears not making it is such a BS argument it's not even funny. He says the Bears can't win in the playoffs because they can't stretch the field and complete 3rd and 7's when it counts. I'm sorry, but why do you have to be able to constantly stretch the field in the playoffs? I've never heard him explain this. Then to say the Bears can't win playing control offense is just flat out ridiculous. I must have missed the rule that says the game changes in the playoffs and control style offense must throw down field.

Starting to get nervous with all these teams 7-3

Standings have been updated. Falcons pull off a lucky win against Tampa Bay in the 4th to go to 10-2. To me, the more I watch Atlanta the more I hope the Bears play them because I don't think they are that good. There defense is pretty horrid and if you stop there running game Matt Ryan is not Peyton Manning, Michael Vick, or Tom Brady. Not scared of them at all. So it's starting to look like atleast Tampa Bay is going to be one of the teams eliminated with another loss or two in the upcoming weeks. Didn't think they were going to get in anyways. Sucks that almost all the teams the Bears are competing with won today. Next week is huge against the Patriots. The other top two teams have a favorable matchup next week so It's important the Bears win next week. The Saints could have a tough one against St Louis and the Vikings are playing pretty well as of late so the Giants could have their hands full next week. -
We have been playing up and down to our competition since the bye. Thankfully we've won all those games despite some poor play. We should play better against New England next week. I'm really looking for the defense to step up this time. We haven't put a complete game together yet where the offense and defense has been clicking. I want to see that next week.
-
Well that was a win but not a good one. The defense played pretty bad for the most part. No way the Lions should be able to put up 20 with a 3rd string QB. However it was the offense yet again that stepped up huge for us. Cutler had another brilliant game as did Earl Bennett. I'm already getting pumped for the Patriots game. Should be a good one!
-
Absolutely pathetic. If we lose this game, the seasons over.
-
Shaun Hill or not the Bears should win this game handily.
-
I saw it. All he had to say was the guy said something funny and I cracked a smile. He wasn't laughing at the game so I don't see the big deal. The reporter took things too far and should have just given up after repeating it for the second time.
-
Haha I hate Steve Young. I saw what he said and had to laugh but I think he kind of a gave us a back handed compliment at the same time. I guess he thinks our defense can carry us to the Superbowl but Cutler needs to take even less risks with the football than he already has. I lol when he said he took too many risks last night. Really Steve? 4 touchdowns? His throws were on the money all night, and its in his DNA to take shots. The only play that I thought was risky was the one he threw off his backfoot to the outside. That was reminiscent of the DeAngelo Hall pick 6 a few weeks ago. The Olsen throw was a good risk to take because you expect Olsen to win that battle, he's 6'5 going against a 5 foot whatever corner. The only time I worry about Cutler is when he drops back and believe he HAS to make a throw downfield to move the chains. Those are the ones that usually result in a pick. Lately he's been very good at protecting the football and when he has nothing he has been taking off running to get whatever he can.
-
He basically gave them no credit. He says the Bears will get exposed in the playoffs because he's played for Tony Dungy's cover 2 system and apparently knows how vulnerable it is even though both Tampa Bay and the Colts won the Superbowl with it. Go figure. This guy is a straight up douchebag
