  1. Nvm, or Caleb will just continue to look dumb by not seeing the wide open check down and take a bad sack...
  2. Opportunity for the offense to regain control of the game after the special teams spotted the Bengals 7 points. Monangai has looked great so far.
  3. Interesting way to get their first passing touchdown in 3 games, but a touchdown nonetheless. Bengals defense is, indeed, terrible.
  4. Santos is trash, too. Special teams really couldn't be any worse this season if they tried. I'd give Moody another look next week.
  5. One of Ben Johnson's biggest mistakes was bringing Kevin Hightower back after the disaster he was last year. Special teams is killing them every game. They can't tackle anybody.
  6. Feels like an inflection point game for Caleb today. If he doesn't play well, and the team loses, it wouldn't surprise me if we start hearing rumblings of a potential QB change on the horizon. The Bears can't lose back to back weeks to a Ravens team without Lamar Jackson and an old ass Joe Flacco with the worst defense in football, who, by the way, doesn't have Trey Hendrickson out there today. Can't happen to a team with real playoff aspirations.
  7. Bad drafting. When you can't draft, you overpay guys like Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odangbo in free agency, or trade for Montez Sweat and Chase Claypool and freak up your cap space for the eventual next GM who comes in to take over.
  8. The only reason the offense had that streak of 21+ points is because of the turnovers. The sheer amount of possessions they've gotten per game allows them to score points, even though they always settle for FG's. Frankly, they should be scoring 30+ with as many takeaways as they've gotten. QB play and penalties have killed them all year.
  9. Two consecutive games without throwing a touchdown pass for Caleb Williams. Can't even score one in garbage time anymore. He's worse than he was last year. The only difference is the interior of the OL is better. That's it.
  10. Bears might not win another game for a while. The 4-2 curse is real. Nobody to blame but themselves, though. They were outcoached, and Caleb Williams got massively outplayed by a guy who was on the practice squad a week ago. Serious problems for this franchise right now.
  11. Rome Odunze sucks, too. Catch a freakin pass that isn't handed to you on a silver platter. He drops everything.
  12. Who we drafting at QB next year? This quarterback is trash.
  13. Kevin Hightower is awful at his job. Special teams coverage gets gashed on every return. Ravens already in scoring position within a couple plays in a must stop situation.
  14. Worst defense in the NFL and Caleb can't do shit against them. It also doesn't help that this playcalling has been atrocious. Where are all the crossers and drag plays that get YAC in this offense? Where are the toss runs that were working so well the last two weeks?? What are we doing??
  15. Noodle leg woefully short on a 58 yard FG. What a disaster of a half on both sides of the ball.
  16. Wheels are coming off now. Caleb looks like shit again. Defense giving up 15 yard cushions on 2nd and 23. Their practice squad QB easily converts 3rd downs and redzone possessions, Caleb doesn't.
  17. This is exactly how you lose a game to an inferior opponent. Bears offense still can't finish drives off with touchdowns. They completely dominated that quarter and are only up 6-0.
  18. Kyler Gordon and Braxton Jones just put on IR, lol. Gordon is just stealing money right now. He got paid and decided to go full Nate Davis on the Bears. His body is made of glass. A trade for secondary help seems like a priority at the moment, especially if they win tomorrow.
  19. Yeah, it sounds like he's not going to play now, according to Rapaport. I did kind of think after being limited on Wed/Thu, that they may have been ramping him up for next week's game against the Dolphins. Dan Graziano alluded to this earlier in the week. Friday's are always lighter red zone days for most teams, so the fact he was a full participant isn't as meaningful as it is on Wed/Thu—and also, now that we know he was running scout team is even more of an indicator that this is more gamesmanship from the Ravens. I suspect they won't officially rule him out until 1.5 hours before kickoff, as they have no incentive to do so, but if he is out, that would be huge for the Bears, who really could use a break, given the injuries to the secondary.
  20. This game just became far less interesting. I think it's possible we're in for a repeat of Detroit part 2, even with a 50% healthy Lamar Jackson. These secondary injuries are getting ridiculous. Kyler Gordon injuring himself for a second time in practice? That contract is looking like another Poles disaster. We have to stop drafting/extending players with lengthy injury histories. This might have to be a ball control, ground and pound kind of gameplan from the Bears in order to keep this one competitive. It would be one of the best wins this franchise has had in years if they were somehow able to pull it off this short handed, assuming Lamar plays.
  21. If you're looking for reasons for optimism, I think this run game could be legit. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there some analytic after the first few games that showed Swift was 31st in EPA/rush or maybe it was just YPC, but the Bears OL ranked in the top 2-3 in yards before contact? If I have that correct, that means the run blocking has been good all year, it just took Swift a few games to figure out his timing in order to get in sync with the blocks. There's an old saying that a good run game travels, and I agree. The Bears were 31st in the NFL in rushing before the bye, and now they're 7th. If that trend continues, along with their newfound ability to (maybe?) stop the run on defense, that's going to keep them in a lot of games. They just need to get more consistent play from the quarterback.
  22. I would be shocked if the Bears are within 2 touchdowns of BAL. Going to have to get better quarterback play to beat a team desperate for a win with their MVP quarterback coming back to play. This is a mega important game for Caleb to get back on track, because things have been trending in a negative direction for him for 3 weeks now. This is supposed to be the soft part of the Bears schedule with all these bad defenses. If he can't put up numbers now, I think we're going to start having some harsher conversations about him in the not so distant future.
  23. The run game is back just in time for the pass game to fall apart. If Caleb doesn't turn it around real damn quick, they'll be back under .500 within a few weeks. He was horrendous the entire game today, arguably his worst game as a pro, given the quality of opponent. Maybe TEN and NE last year were worse. Zero positives that I can find from his performance against the worst team the Bears will play all year.
  24. So frustrating watching him refusing to take positive yards off scrambles. Any time he's waited around to find an open receiver down the sideline, he's never close.
