You've got to know better than to touch the ball when you're out of bounds. Should have been a turnover. But Fuller with his second punch out tonight! He's learning well.
-
I want to know if the Bears are the most injured team in the league at the end of this game. They've got to be close.
-
A 3 and out by the defense would be golden right now. Get the ball back on O and wear them out.
-
Surprised there wasn't a flag on that TD.. like there is on every other TD.. Great way to come out of the half! That end around to Alshon was the exact right play needed to get the Jets on their heels a bit. Need to see more of it.
-
Yep. The Jets D is allowing those throws underneath. I don't think Forte plays with much decisiveness. These quick, physical defensive lines are a bad matchup for him. Every time he and Bennett touch the ball, I think they're going to fumble.
-
The Bears are going to have to get creative running the ball. I don't trust Cutler throwing the ball 40 times in this game. Need more end arounds, read options, sprint draw plays to keep the Jets on their heels.

If I were a Jets fan, I would be furious with this game. They should be blowing the Bears out. Pick 6, fumbled punt return gift wrapping field position, + a bad PI call, and a fumble that should have went for a TD.

Disastrous 2nd quarter.
-
This is why you can't blow opportunities. Bears could have blew the game open early, but failed to convert on a number of opportunities in the red zone. This is what happens. Need a drive ending in points to close out the half here.

Lamar Houston sucks. May be worse than Allen.
-
Please don't tell me that's a torn achilles.
-
I believe that 17 yard run was the longest return of the year.. Yes, a 17 yarder..
-
Was just going to say.. He's made one impact play in a little over 2 games.
-
Missed opportunities. That drive should have ended in 7. Cutler's accuracy real shaky in the 1st half.
-
Why are the Bears so bad at running the ball? Is it the blocking? Forte? I don't get it. IMO, Forte is not the kind of back that plays well against physical defensive fronts. He has no burst like most of the great RB's in this game. He's a smaller Arian Foster. Not good in tight spaces.
-
The next player to return a kick out of the endzone should be cut. Seriously. I'd much rather just start at the 20 on every drive. I can't believe how bad the special teams are, but it's embarrassing.
-
Bears caught some breaks early, but who cares. I'll take the lead.
-
Alright, what do you think: - Over/Under 32 TD's for Cutler? - Over/Under 10 sacks for Willie Young? Think I'll take the over on both.

Hester basically took a direct shot at Cutler after the game. Said he wasn't happy the last 3-4 years in Chicago. Said he has a quarterback now that likes even the walk-ons, and has coaches that know how to get him the ball. It was obvious that Cutler and Hester never connected as a QB/WR duo, but he was also the #1 or #2 receiver for all of those years! In Atlanta, he's the #4. I agree with him that he was under utilized here because dip shit #1 (Martz) and dip shit #2 (Tice) were morons. Wonder how he would have played last year had he agreed to play a role on offense. Got to imagine those end arounds to Alshon would have been Devin Hester's plays instead.

I picked TB to go 7-9 this year. Atlanta 10-6. I'm feeling more confident about the latter than I am the former right now. Not sure Tampa can get to 7 wins.
-
Wow, he is absolutely dominating.

These Thursday night games are never interesting. The NFL should do away with them all together, or move them to like a Saturday night. Even Friday would be better. Who cares about College football.
-
Weird how he looks faster than he did the last two years in Chicago. Maybe it's just the uniform. He made a nice play to get the ball back after a turnover.

Question -- Are you allowed to put a guy back on your practice squad after you've already activated him to the 53 man roster for 1 week? Like Chris Williams, for example. I know you have to go through waivers first, but is he allowed to sign back on the practice squad if he clears, or is that only a one time thing?

So, tell me if I'm crazy for thinking this, but what if the Bears are actually benefiting from playing all of these games against zone-read teams with athletic QB's? They got a major taste of it with the Eagles and Seahawks in pre-season, and right off the bat in the regular season, they get the Bills, 49'ers, and Jets in back-to-back-to-back weeks. They've been awful at defending it up until this game. They still allowed like 120 yards on the ground today, but it feels different this time. Gore had 1 explosive run and Kaepernick got away from a few defenders that missed tackles to rack up some yardage late. The difference this time is the Bears were usually right there to make plays this time. Is it possible that the Bears have gotten to the point now where they are starting to get used to all this read-zone stuff, and it's starting to click? It's almost like after a certain point, you're brain is going to start adjusting to things after you've been playing against it for a while. I saw Jon Bostic play instinctive tonight. He was in the backfield on a few running plays where I couldn't believe my eyes. The containment was there for the most part. Kaepernick got away a few too many times late in the 4th, but the Bears had about 3-4 chances to wrap him up for a sack and didn't get him down. I'm real curious to see if any of this translates into the game next week against the Jets. If they get dominated on the ground, this topic may be all for not, but after the game, it had me thinking. What if this stuff is actually sorta helping them in a weird way?
