Agree, 100%. I thought the way the season went last year, Trestman's seat deserved to get a little warm after basically costing his team 2 victories because of his decision making. He appears to have absolutely zero clue on defense, as evidence to his answers to the media everytime they ask him a question about defense, and also just because he kept Mel Tucker at the end of last year's debacle. I think he could be the offensive version of Lovie Smith. The Bears need a coach that knows how to do both. As far as I'm concerned, he's got this year to prove it or I'd seriously consider finding somebody else who can. Phil also needs to be on the hot seat after this year if the team misses the playoffs. With the exception of a few picks, his drafts have largely sucked, especially on defense. Not one difference maker. Not one!

What is this organization's infatuation with Kelvin Hayden? He has been an awful Bear.
-
If there was a battle between Washington, Lane, and Bass this pre-season, I think Bass may have slightly edged out Washington. He may be the last DE kept. I noticed they played him at DT some in this game. Could be a good sign.
-
That is a bit unsettling.
-
Good news. I hope he does. He has a lot of talent, just hope he's able to show something this week.
-
Has Christian Jones been cut yet? He hasn't done anything in pre-season. Was looking forward to him showing his potential.
-
Probably true. Might be a safe bet to assume Palmer doesn't get picked up anywhere else.
-
First real surprise cut, IMO. Are the Bears only going with 2 QB's on their roster this season? I'm assuming they will try and put Fales on the practice squad. I've never liked the idea of having only 2 QB's. The Bears got lucky last year that McCown didn't get hurt.

Sounds like somebody is just looking for a reason to start an argument.
-
Our incompetent special teams coordinator :/ Supposedly, the Bears signed McCray because he had a history with DeCamillis in Dallas, and the coach loved him, but he was suppose to be a special teams guy, not a starting safety.
-
Joe D loves him, though . Makes the Kyle Fuller pick even more of a head scratcher. Not to say he was a bad pick or a bad player, just that they have no qualified starters at either safety position this year. It was by far their greatest area of need and they basically came up with nothing.

Writing was on the wall for Wilson. Must not have liked what they saw in training camp. Thought he would get a serious shot at starting on this team, but was always relegated to 2nd and 3rd team duty. Somewhat surprised Ford was cut already. Thought he should have been given more of an opportunity to return kick offs on this team. My guess is he put the ball on the ground a lot in practice, which is a no no.

Kyle Fuller needs to play. He's not getting any better sitting in the trainer's room from an injury that, quite honestly, didn't even look that bad. I'm sure the Bears are being extra cautious, but the kid needs to be out there getting live reps. Tillman and Briggs are out there on reputation right now. I don't think either can play anymore. Tim Jennings hasn't looked very good in this pre-season, and Kelvin Hayden can't do much of anything (aside from being bad). They are going to need Kyle Fuller to step up or we could have serious problems again with this defense. Chris Williams needs to get out there as well. If he doesn't play next week, there's no way he's making the team. He may be the Bears only hope of having a semi-decent return game this season, because the other candidates have been god awful. Does Joe D tell these guys to run straight into the first defender they see? I realize the blocking is below par, but these guys are professional athletes -- can they not set up a block and make the first guy miss? The special teams couldn't be any more of a disaster. They worry me as much as anyone, especially if Robbie Gould starts to lose it. This all brings me back to a point I made earlier. The Bears are relying too much on old vets. I don't often agree with Dan Pompei, but he made a valid point the other day about being worried that this team may falter in the 2nd half of the year because their older guys could begin to slow down over the course of a long season. The Seahawks have done a great job since Pete Carrol took over bringing in young players. They made more moves than anybody to completely overhaul their roster. I think if the Bears miss the playoffs again this year, it's time to do the same, at least on the defensive side of the ball. That means bye bye Tillman, Briggs, DJ, Ratliff, Hayden, and others.
-
Man, the Bears have a lot of bad veteran players on defense. I fear this may be their downfall. Kelvin Hayden, Briggs, Tillman, DJ Williams, Adrian Wilson.. Even Jennings is looking old out there. They are in desperate need of youth. Take a page out of Seattle's book.
-
Pretty much an epic disaster of a 1st half.
-
The Bears don't even belong on the same planet as Seattle. Looks like a varsity vs jv scrimmage right now. Defense is shit, offense can't score.. Not a good recipe.
-
The Bears have yet to stop Seattle on 3rd down... And it's almost halftime.
-
If the first quarter is any indicator, we're going to see a repeat of last year. The offense is going to have to score 30 ppg to even be in some of these games. I have zero faith in Mel Tucker. Also, Briggs is done. He can't run anymore.
-
Where did I say it was hard? It just seems like something that you wouldn't even want to bother with during the season.
-
Makes sense. Since he doesn't play special teams, he pretty much has to solidify himself as the Bears #3 receiver, otherwise I don't see him being here long.
-
I don't know why anybody would want to do this.. flying back and forth between Chicago and NY once a week and worrying about playing football at the same time. My guess is that he won't be on the show as much in the winter during bad weather. That'd be about the dumbest thing he could do because of all the flight cancellations.
-
Jeffery, Marshall, Wilson, Holmes, Williams, and Morgan is a decent group of WR's if the Bears keep 6. Williams should be the punt/kickoff returner when he gets back to full health. Hopefully that doesn't take too long. Weems will be cut.
-
I'm still wondering how you he got injured. Did he even get on the field?? Probably injured himself getting out of bed in the morning. What a joke.
-
There's really no excuse to use any of your high draft picks or starters on special teams in pre-season with the amount of bodies you have in camp. I really think the rosters should be expanded in the regular season for that very reason.
-
Weems should have been gone last year. Cornelius Washington may have made the team. He was all over the place tonight, making plays on defense and special teams. Still would like to see the sacks though.
