  1. A loss probably eliminates us from playoff competition. We are going to lose to New England and GB the next couple of weeks giving us 6 losses. Going to need a miracle.
  2. Gotta love TV. Commercial during a challenge. No need for a replay, just go straight to a break..
  3. LMAO. Right. Just like every grass surface is in the same condition as every other.
  4. Whatever the outcome of this game, the Bears just don't look like a team that is competing for anything. There is no consistency. None. That starts with the quarterback.
  5. I forgot to add the field blows. Worst in the NFL. It is not fair to professional athletes that they have to play on a Highschool surface.
  6. Protection blows, play calling blows, Cutler blows, Ratliff is a beast. Summary of the game so far.

He is beyond awful. Glad he's back just in time to blow a coverage to allow an easy touchdown..
  8. This win would have felt better if the Packers didn't luck out at the end against Miami. Rodgers fumbles the game away but the Dolphins don't recover.
  9. I hate when Trestman goes into conservative mode. He's so annoying in these situations. Put your foot on their throats!
  10. That's how it's supposed to look. Well done. Now don't blow the lead.
  11. I'd like to know how many times this season the Bears have actually fielded a punt return that didn't end up being penalized. I bet you could count them on one hand.
  12. If that blocked extra point decides the game.. I swear it's like the special teams is purposely trolling us. Can't even enjoy a TD drive without something bad happening.
  13. It would be nice if the quarterback whisperer could dial up a TD drive here against an awful Atlanta Falcons defense.
  14. They blew a 1st and 29 and gave up a touchdown. LOL
  15. It's not a Bears game without Conte getting hurt. Just retire already.
  16. Marc Trestman is a freakin idiot. Unbelievably idiotic clock management..AGAIN!!!!!!!
  17. Is there any doubt Hester will score at least 1 TD against us? You just know they will try to feature him early in the offense to get him touches, and of course in the return game. I would be completely shocked if he didn't come out of the game with at least 1 TD. I think the Bears get blown out in this game, so it probably shouldn't be that hard.
  18. Lol, he caught himself mid sentence, too. It was hilarious. "Brandon ran the wron.." The Bears are terrified of Marshall, according to the 670 guys. I didn't buy into it much at first, but it's starting to look that way when you listen to Trestman. They are afraid of saying no to him because he's a headcase. Looks like their approach is to just be extremely passive with him as to not give things a chance to spiral out of control. That should work for a while, but the more they lose, the worse it's going to get.
  19. Why didn't Denver keep him? Wasn't he really freaking good the last two years? I seem to remember him always breaking off big returns.
  20. Lawrence Holmes wrote a great article today discussing the Bears game against Carolina. He also brought up an interesting quote from a former NFL exec that I thought was profound. The exec said about Cutler, he's always leery of quarterbacks who had to do everything for their college teams because they develop bad habits. Simple, yet so true. I had never had that thought cross my mind before, but it makes complete sense when you think about the kind of pressure that was put on Cutler at Vanderbilt. He was the SEC offensive player of the year coming out of the draft, which says a lot for Vanderbilt. I believe they also had a losing record that year, which tells you just how difficult it must have been for Cutler to even win that award despite the team not being all that talented. There were some other things in his article that were spot on, but that quote was the one that stood out to me the most. It's making me reconsider certain quarterbacks coming into the draft that I might have otherwise liked. Johnny Manziel, for instance, comes to mind right away.

Not having a stretch the field guy is hurting this offense. Over the long haul, those lack of explosive plays will slowly cripple you. The Bears are getting none of that lately because teams are forcing them to play the dink and dunk game. It's like playing an NBA game without any reliable 3 point shooters. You can score without them, but it's not going to be as easy, and overall, your offense isn't going to be as difficult to defend. They better hope Marquess Wilson can do some of that when he comes back-- that is if their season isn't already over by that point. He can't play until week 10.

The Cutler extension might go down as the biggest mistake of the Phil Emery era. One other that comes to mind right away was taking Shea McClellin over Chandler Jones. I gave up on Cutler two years ago after the Houston Texans game in the rain when he threw a game altering interception late in the 4th quarter. From that moment on, I knew he would always be the same inconsistent player that will cripple you when you can least afford it. All that gobbledygook about him maturing because of his children on and off the field was a farce. The Bears can make the playoffs with Cutler as the quarterback, but the idea that he could carry an offense to the promise land with only a below average defense is no longer applicable. Yet, that's what the Bears are paying him to do.
  23. Should we change this thread to P-A-N-I-C now or wait until after next week?

I think you'll have to wait another year before Trestman gets the axe. Emery loves the guy. It would take a complete collapse, similar to the Houston Texans last year losing 14 straight for him to be fired, IMO. I also think that if you fire Trestman, Cutler almost HAS to go with him. That would be a difficult thing to do considering his price tag. I'm all for going after Harbaugh once he is inevitably fired, though I don't think he has any interest in moving away from the Bay area unless he goes to Michigan. If the Bears are somehow looking for a coach at the end of the year, Kevin Sumlin is a guy that would be high on my radar.

I don't think McCown would have gotten this team to the playoffs, but he'd certainly have come a lot cheaper than Jay.
