  1. Cutler being taken to the hospital. Not a good sign. If he's out for the year, do the Bears win another game?
  2. This defense is a mess. They came out of a timeout and had no idea where to line up. Conte is freakin awful.
  3. And then that happens... Devin Hester TD.
  4. Wonder if they call back Jordan Palmer.
  5. If Cutler's injury is serious, it could be time to tank. He's walking back to the locker room like an old man. Couldn't tell if it's a hip or a leg. Btw, this is why I hate not carrying 3 QB's on the roster. You are one McCown injury away from Michael Bush as your quarterback..
  6. Jeffery has trouble catching passes cleanly. Pick 6 was all on him. David Bass looks like their best D-Lineman.
  7. Sigh... You give up 2 big plays on defense right out of the gate, and then you go 3 and out on the first offensive series.

The Bears need to stop Alfred Morris. That would pretty much secure a victory as long as Cutler and the offense doesn't turn the ball over. The only thing that Redskins defense does well is sack the quarterback. RGIII looks like he's getting better every week, but if the Bears can shut down the run game and make them one dimensional, they shouldn't have any trouble coming away with a win.
  9. Jay Ratliff isn't healthy enough to play right now, and quite possibly at any point during the season because of the serious injury he's still recovering from. We are talking muscle ripped off bone type of stuff. I don't really see him as a fit here anyways. Not sure how much you'd get out of a 32 year old 3-4 nose tackle on the downside of his career.
  10. There's a reason why he's been cut twice already this season. He's probably not any good. And if he has character issues, why bother?
  11. Well they did at least try.. They drafted two first round busts in Chris Williams and Gabe Carimi that should have solidified both tackle positions for the next 7+ years.
  12. You're right. I have no idea what the hell he's talking about. The Bears were the only NFL team to offer him a contract. That says a lot, doesn't it? He couldn't play anymore.
  13. I want to see more of McClellin in a 2 point stance, like ALL THE TIME! Enough with this pretending. He's not a defensive end. When he plays, he should be rushing as an OLB in the 3-4 front the Bears have been teasing with 1 or 2 times a game lately. That needs to happen 75% with him on the field. I think the Bears are last in the NFL in giving up plays over 20+ yards this season, which is a pretty good indication that they are definitely "breaking" in this bend but don't break defense. Most of that is on the lack of pass rush from the front four, but some of it is the confusion from the safeties and bad overall execution from Mel Tucker's schemes. They'll need to make a trade for a NFL DT or this is likely the way it's going to be for the rest of the year, and it can get even worse with injuries. The offense hasn't gotten to the point yet where they can win shootouts against legit teams, but they will need to be if this team wants to smell postseason success. The learning curve needs to be sped up.
  14. Injuries have played a huge part in the defenses downfall but they were pretty bad when most everybody was healthy the first couple games as well. I don't think it's a coincidence that this team is last in the NFL in sacks. IIRC Mel Tucker's Jaguar defenses were also last in the NFL in sacks the year before he took over the Bears defense. Rod Mareneli's presence is being understated here IMO. Also, the tackling and gap control shouldn't be this bad. That is on coaching. The offense is coming along, but I don't think they are as good as the numbers suggest. Their stats are very misleading when you take into account the way some of it has happen, specifically the games against the Lions and Saints when half their offense has come in the 4th quarter after the opposing team goes into prevent mode to protect a huge lead. Before last night, they weren't accomplishing much early in games. Part of me wonders if it's Marc Trestman not adjusting very well to adjustments other teams have made against the Bears. No one expects perfection, but when you have a defense that's really bad, the Bears "O" needs to be better than they have played if they want to make the playoffs and beat really good teams.
  15. Well said. I agree with everything. The problem on offense is the running game. They are constantly wasting plays running up the middle with forte on 1st and 10 or 3rd and short, which winds up costing us points on the scoreboard. Cutler was about as sharp as he's ever been tonight, but the team still only managed to put up 20 points against the worst or 2nd worst defense in the league. I just don't get the play calling when it comes to running the ball. There's no way they should be as bad as they are with a new offensive line that's way more physical than the one we had a year ago. I think it comes down to play calling and design.
  16. Cutler was on point for the most part tonight. I did not like the play calling in the redzone tonight. No excuse not to come away with 7 when you are gift wrapped the field position inside the 10. The offense got it together after that and destroyed the Giants D. Then they did next to nothing in the 2nd half. Need to start improving on finishing drives off. The D was bad again, which wasn't a surprise. The Giants converted 7 of 11 3rd downs, and averaged about 7 yards per play. They also had well over 100 yards rushing for the game, which was more than double their season average. They just don't have NFL talent up front. There's no fix to it, and it's something the team will have to deal with all year unless they catch lightning in a bottle from some young kid. I'm going to write this one off as a typical bad Thursday game on a short week. Both sides of the ball have a lot of work to do. Offense needs to put a complete game together, and they need to run the ball better. I don't know what else you can say about the defense. The Bears are in for a long year with that.
  17. This is about the least satisfying win you could ever draw up. Guess it's better to be lucky than good.
  18. There is never anybody close to Eli Manning in the pocket.
  19. Jeffery has to catch that. Had a chance to chew up more clock. Instead, the offense stalls again.
  20. We are getting near danger zone. Offense hasn't done anything yet this half.
  21. Only a 91 yard drive.. Nothing big. The offense needs to start executing better and finish off drives. 27 points isn't going to be enough to win this game I fear.
  22. The running game shouldn't be this bad. They've been getting about one big run a game. I still don't know why they keep trying to force Forte up the middle. He's not good in tight spaces.
  23. Robbie Gould feeding that family!
  24. Offense gets the ball to start the half. They need to come out with more of a sense of urgency. It's time to go for the kill. Cutler is playing as well as he has all year.
  25. Why the freak are they not trying to run plays with 50 seconds to go and 1 timeout?? Atrocious time management.
