  1. I'd very much like Hitchens. He's a legit starter in this league. I know the SAM is only gonna play 20ish percent of the time, but you can't just throw a jag out there. He may even be an upgrade over the guy we got from the raiders.

Be patient they say, I no like.

Finally.  They sign Tavon Young / CB    played NB good player 5'9

They sign  Ryan Griffin/TE.  27 rec. 2 Ts for Jets.

I like the Young upside. We all love the Ravens organization and they once made him the highest paid slot corner in the league. Injuries have been an issue, but if healthy he could be a steal.

  3. Here's one that's gonna rub some people the wrong way.

    39. Devonte Wyatt DT Georgia

    48. Alec Pierce WR Cincy

    71. Phidarian Mathis DT Bama

    148. Nick Cross S Maryland

    150. Jamaree Salyer IOL Georgia

    186. Josh Jobe CB Bama

I wanted to go elsewhere at 71 but I couldn't pass up Mathis. Im not a huge fan of Jones and the DT room. Mathis and Wyatt creates a huge strength for this team and makes things easier for the rest of the team.

I do think we got a good ascending player in Pringle.  With him slated playing slot,  Mooney plays Z,  we still need a go to X. Players in draft that fit a outside bigger target are NDS Christian Watson and UG George Pickens.   I think St Brown was also brought in for this position.

Alec Pierce is my guy. I think he's gonna be the best of the 2nd round guys.

I'd look to grab another WR in the 5th, just because the depth is there in this draft, and then you have St. Brown, Dazz, and the 5th rounder to fill out the WR room.

On most of my mocks lately I've been going with some combination of OT/WR/OG (sometimes a 3-tech DT falls to us) with the order being determined by best available at each pick.  I prefer that over using 2 of 3 day 2 picks on WR.   If we add another rookie WR I prefer to use a late day 3 pick to fill out the room or else a cheap FA vet who is already proven good on special teams.

I'm with you. I want all my day 2 picks to be day one starters and play a big roll on the team right away. Pringle is not a household name because of who he was behind in KC, but I think he's a legit top 3 WR on this team and should get the playing time as so.

In an ideal world they add Brown/Fisher, one of the DTs fall, the take him, grab the best WR available with the next pick, and then the best interior lineman in the 3rd.

  6. Waiting till after draft, at least on the LT position, kinda scares me.

I really hope they can snag Brown or Fisher here in the next few weeks. I kinda like the OT from Ohio State and he should be there, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable knowing we won't have to rely on a rookie left tackle.....unless most of the world is wrong on Jenkins to the left side.

I feel like the bears would lose leverage in talks for Brown/Fisher if we HAVE to have them post draft.

I think it's Jenkins athleticism that makes up for his lack of length (short arms).  His hand quickness is good enough that if he gets beat initially he can counter and get their hands off him and get his back where they need to be.  These days I'm not so sure about the old ways of LT/RT.  Best pass rushers used to be coming at QB's blind side yet Von Miller has made a fortune, and a Superbowl MVP, getting past  RTs.  Maybe it depends how a team wants to run its offense, and maybe how the well the individual player does on either side.  IMO if you have at least one OT good enough to leave on an island you're in a good place because the OC, QB, and the rest of the Oline should be able to figure out the rest especially if the interior is solid.

Like Mongo said, the blindside factor still matters more in terms of LT/RT. Pressure coming from the right side is "Easier" to evade.

It would however certainly be nice if Jenkins can indeed be left alone on an island which would help the rest of the line.

Heard Olin talk on a podcast this morning , he said he has gotten the impression from the front office that they like Borom on the Left side and Jenkins on the right. So I think they draft a OT that can play either side and concentrate on the RG spot early in the draft.

I'd assume/hope he is simply saying that that is where they like them in general, not that they like them to be starters.

I'm still a really big fan of Jenkins and think he's gonna be a stud. His length and overall athleticism may be the only thing that limits him to the right side.

I'd still very much like Duane Brown.

  9. Dane looks like he's a really solid nickle/dime safety with some upside to be THE guy. Looks like Eberflus has used a lot of 3 safety sets in the back. Having a guy out there just to shut down the opposing TE is pretty important  and allows the linebackers and other safeties  to play more freely.

As far as 3T goes, I think Edward's s their best option there right now and I definitely  think they should look to the draft for an upgrade.

Any mock or actual draft should be the who's who of the SEC.

    1. Call State Fullerton

    2. Eastern Washington

    3. South Carolina

    4. LSU

    5. LSU

    6. Bama

    7. Maryland

    8. West Alabama

    9. Kansas State

    10. Toledo

    11. Maryland

    12. Clemson

    13. Cal

    14. Penn State

    15. USC

    16. Tulane

    17. Ohio State

    18. Clemson

    19. Oregon State

    20. Oklahoma

I know your post isn't directly pointed at WR, but there is your top 20 receivers last year.

    Only 6 from the SEC.

I was bored and decided to look into this knowing that my top 3 WR in the league, Kupp, Adams, and Hill all went to smaller schools.

This is my list, grab a OG and and OT and we have a solid line:

    Ereck Flowers, LG
    Trai Turner, RG
    Michael Schofield, LG

    Daryl Williams at RT
    Nate Solder, LT
    Eric Fisher, LT
    Duane Brown, LT
    Riley Reiff, LT

Why no Trettor? Patrick can certainly play OG.

  12. Don't forget, JC Trettor is still out there as well. Patrick is versatile enough to where he could move to OG.

Bates woulda been a good get as far as his age is concerned,  but Trettor is probably still the best interior lineman out there.

Trettor and Brown/Fisher would be phenomenal.  Brown-Whitehair-Trettor-Patrick-Jenkins can be super sexy.

  13. Not sure if the rumors were true, but at one point I read the bears had interest in honey badger. Since they missed out on Armstead and have the money, I'd be cool signing him.

Another big time lottery pick I'd give a shot too is Solomon Thomas.

We still have 25 million to buy a few of those positions but yes, we are missing some sweet picks in the 4th round.

This, no shot the bears are done in free agency.

Hopefully the Bills don't match on Bates and they add Brown or Fisher to play LT. That's your 2 OL pieces right there.

Still other pieces out there as well.

That being said, I'd have no issues trading down a bit.

I would even take a Duane Brown to upgrade the LT position. I think someone already said it but bring in Billy Turner as a swing tackle . If Jenkins fails, he can play LT.

Brown is my too target right  now. I think people get wrapped up too much in age and forget he was a pro bowler just this past year. Peters played well and he was 3 years older than him.

Grab Brown on a 2 year deal and call the OL set with Brown-Whitehair-Patrick-Bates-Jenkins.

  16. I definitely think Mitch is best case scenario. I still have hope for Mitch to be honest.

2018 Mobile Mitch has to make a return tho. I feel like no one is talking about that either. Mitch must become a threat with his legs again. That threat was just not there last year. If it is, I think he's good enough to win with.

I am glad things are going good, sorry about the divorce, those are never fun. No spoilers here, but it's been a wild ride, especially the last half of the 2018 season.  A lot of storylines to keep you occupied thru this quarantine for sure.

Lol. She was a whore, it's all good. I'm already talking to other girls.

It's been a fun ride so far. Once I get all caught up I'm gonna post more. Right now I'm still working 66ish hours a week on the road, so I'm watching one game a day and I've been laser focused on it.

    Welcome back! How's it going?

Everything's great man, life just got super busy with work for awhile and other stuff. Sports were kinda forced into the back burner. I had still followed box scores but I think I've seen 5 full games the last 2 years.

Butttt, I got a divorce soooo now I'm binge watching bears football so I can get all cought up. No spoilers.

Just as we all thought, the next move was . . . Signing John Jenkins.

I like it, and this was kind of overlooked. After Goldman the Bears don't have a nose tackle.

  20. What's next?? Pace is obviously going for it in 2020 as he should. There's one guy out there that screams win now, and that's Jason Peters. He's old, but he still played at a really high level last year and I believe he was also apart of one of Castillo's lines in the past....Peters is definitely someone I would add and hope to get one or 2 more years out of.

Clayton Geathers is another veteran name out there who could come in and start right away.

I'm not as dialed in as I once was, but I feel like they could extend ARob and lower his cap hit for this year thus allowing the cap room for Peters and Clayton. Possibly also having some money leftover should a better OG option get released as well. I feel like Fluker and Ifedi are about at the same level.

  21. Cruz would be interesting. With OBJ and Shepard he kinda lost his role last year when healthy.

If ya throw enough boom or bust type guys out there, which is what I would call White, Meredith, Wheaten, Wright, and Cruz, you should be able to get 1 or 2 guys to "Boom."
