The Path to the Draft episode today on NFL Network had a Bears War Room feature where they talk about the roster and picks in the first few rounds that they think would make sense. They've been doing these for all the teams leading up to the draft. It will probably be rebroadcast a few times in the next 24 hours, but I'm not sure about availability after that.

Anybody pay attention that taylor Decker is working out with kyle long. I find that interesting.

FYI, they gave them Leonard Floyd/Vernon Butler/Alex Lewis/Eric Murray in one scenario and William Jackson/Austin Hooper/Charles Tapper/Juston Burris in another.

A lot of OLinemen working out with LeCharles Bentley. I kinda like Decker though, really nasty player. If he can't hang at LT he should be a very good mauling RT. With the Bears probably being a run first team they might be able to live with Decker at LT.

 

 

 

Speaking of "Path to the draft" some guys are still taking the wrong path. Oakman was arrested for sexual assault.....Personally I think he was way over hyped anyway and didn't really have any interest in him, but I know some here did. He might end up going undrafted.

Holy hell. Oakman, what a moron. I thought/think he has potential from a purely athletic point of view, but he's a moron to get in trouble this close to the draft. That being said, if he's there in the 6th I think the Bears should pull the trigger. You never REALLY know why some of these things happen, and it could have been just some nasty skank trying to take advantage of his position. The 6th and 7th is where you take chances. It's why I wanted the Bears to select Burfict a few years ago.

That tells you something about how smart he is to put himself in harms way this close to the draft. I think a lot og teams take him off there board. A sexual assult charge is huge, we probably won't touch that either after the Mcdonald circus.

In this day and age where sexual assault can consist of just looking at a woman the wrong way I'll wait to see what happens. Not only that, if you have consensual sex and the next day the woman decides she didn't want to have done that then it's a sexual assault. Or if she had a drink of two beforehand then the next day felt she shouldn't or didn't want to have agreed to what she agreed to the night before then you are guilty. I'm not saying he's innocent but I refuse to jump in and say he's guilty until the facts are put forth.

Because of recent incidents involving NFL players there is probably a slight chance that Oakman will be drafted. The Bears have gone to great lengths to rid the team of malcontents and this as well as Nk.......would be contrary to that.

Regardless of the outcome of this incident I have no interest in drafting Oakman. I just don't see him as a very productive player even if he looks the part. Even as we get to the later rounds I prefer to grab an injured player who has more upside (I don't view Oakman as having much upside) or, really late, take a flyer on a guy like Moritz Boehringer.
