July 21, 20169 yr comment_158798 There is not much to get excited about but if he is healthy Silatolu will provide very good competition for the interior line. I don't know the extent of his last knee injury or even if it was the same knee as his first injury. All I can say is that whoever ends up as our backup players on the Oline they should be more talented than Ducasse or Omameh. http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2016/07/20/i...offensive-line/ Also in that article is a line about Grasu not being on solid ground as the starting C. Nothing too new here as Ramirez was being asked to push Grasu for the starting job but it does make clear that our best 5 Oline are going to start. Report
July 21, 20169 yr comment_158799 and it returns the depth at guard we lost when Ramirez retired, and allows us the possibility of loving Long to LT too. Not that we will, or that it'll work, but we have the flexibility to see I think. Report

It never hurts to have good depth, something we didnt have last year. Report

July 23, 20169 yr comment_158815 Silatolu might have been signed because of this: Bears offensive lineman Nate Chandler retires at 27. https://twitter.com/BradBiggs/status/756923475479109632 Report
July 24, 20169 yr comment_158816 Silatolu might have been signed because of this: https://twitter.com/BradBiggs/status/756923475479109632 Thanks Adam, I hadnt seen that. I wonder what's kicking these guys' butts? I wonder if the new scheme meant to get linemen to the second level is wearing these guys out, or the lack of speed in their game is showing up in that scheme and making them think they dont have it anymore. I get the feeling we are building an actual Offensive Line. Report
August 9, 20169 yr comment_158894 Looks like he passed his physical, and with the loss of Grasu, we really need quality depth now. Report
