Draft Position

I hope Arizona losses so we pick 16. Since we would be the best of the 7-9 teams and be picking at 7-9, we would then move up about what, 7 spots in the 2nd round?

What? How would the Bears jump 7 spots in the 2nd round? This isn't fantasy football. All they move up is one position per round. So if they select 16th, they will have the 15th selection of the 2nd, 14th of the 3rd, etc.

EDIT: I'm a retard.

I was thinking teams moved down for some reason... So I am rooting for the Cards to win now.

Thank god. I thought you were looking at something completely different. I am looking at it and seeing everyone slide up one slot until the top, then dropping off - and you were saying the complete opposite. LOL.

would we benefit from a Denver win?

Yes, but barely. If they win they would also be 7-9, making it 7 teams at that record. We would pick 15th in the first, and then pick 9th in the 7th. If they lost, we would pick 15th again in the 7th. So not much of an impact. An Arizona win actually helps more.

I'll take it. Better pick in the 7th and the Vikings officially getting eliminated from the players would be well worth the Broncos win... now, go Cards!

where would we have picked if we lost (ie how much will this "momentum" cost us at the draft next year)?

If they lost out? Probably around 7 or 8. the best case (or is that worse case? lol) 2 weeks ago had us at 5 but that was with the Bears losing their last 2 and everyone in front of them winning their last 2.

I am close to positive that Oakland will get the 5 pick since they have a better conference record then Kansas, and that Kansas and Atlanta will be determined by a coin flip because they are in seperate conferences. So, that looks pretty close to correct to me except for the playoff teams.

Okay, this is what i believe the draft order will look like for the most part...

01 - Miami

02 - St. Louis

03 - Atlanta/Kansas City/Oakland (coin flip)^

04 - Atlanta/Kansas City/Oakland (coin flip)^

05 - Atlanta/Kansas City/Oakland (coin flip)^

06 - N.Y. Jets

07 - New England (from SF)

08 - Baltimore

09 - Cincinnati

10 - New Orleans

11 - Buffalo/Denver (coin flip)

12 - Buffalo/Denver (coin flip)

13 - Carolina

14 - Chicago

15 - Detroit

16 - Arizona

17 - Minnesota

18 - Houston

19 - Eagles

20 - Tampa Bay*

21 - Washington*

22 - Dallas (from CLE)

23 - Tennessee*

24 - Seattle*

25 - Pittsburgh*

26 - N.Y. Giants*

27 - San Diego*

28 - Jacksonville*

29 - Green Bay*

30 - San Francisco (from IND)*

31 - Dallas*

32 - New England (forfeited)*

^-The coin toss will be between Atlanta and Kansas City because they are in different conferences and Oakland will not be involved because they have a better conference record then Kansas City (which means they can not pick higher then Kansas City). If Atlanta wins, there will not be another coin toss for the 4th or 5th pick because Kansas City wins the tiebreaker for the higher pick. However, if Kansas City wins the coin flip, then there will be another coin flip between Oakland and Atlanta since they are in different conferences.

*-playoff team whose pick is still not completely determined because the playoffs still can determine where they pick.
