Bears select Shemar Turner, DT at #62

Interesting note that Turner has logged significant snaps at NT, 3T, and even DE. Maybe they see him a bit of “twofer” pick where he can play anywhere on the line and help inside and out.

There is another trenches pick. Will replace Pickens, who really underwhelmed.

I’m willing to see what Pickens does being healthy as I know he put in a lot of work last offseason before getting hurt.

Plus new coaching staff. Either way I like what they have done with both lines - would like to see some of our previous years class take steps forward and hopefully some hits right now.

Pickens seems wrote off, the Bears had him playing out of position and he was hurt. He busted his ass with dexter and is more a 3t and 0t. Let him play at his natural position.

With a new coaching staff he'll get his shot but they add depth to not have to count on him.i hope he shines and becomes part of the rotation.

I like this pick.  Adds more pass rush but he’s also good at stopping the run.   His ability to move out to the edge is a plus.  Dennis Allen can move around Dayo, Sweat, Jarret, and now Stewart.   3rd and long is going to be interesting.

I think DA has a big influence on this pick. Like you said can move around to any DL spot. I think he ends up playing more outside than inside. Dayo can play inside.

Once this puzzle gets put together it may look much different than it does now. I think this draft does say this coaching staff likes the roster better than the fans do.

DA said pressure on the QB comes from inside not the edges a few weeks before the draft.  After I heard that I figured we'd be drafting someone who was more 3-tech than a 2-down run stuffer like Alfred Collins.  Plus that pick might come at the expense of an edge rusher although I still wish we added to the DE ranks as well.

Poles also said DA wanted more speed in the LB corps and so he got that in Rd 4.
