Look I cant help it if you dont make sense and dont even remember what you said a day earlier.

Youre the one calling out people for not being "optimistic" and saying that we need to form an opinion right now. That was you.

Also, one of the funniest things in this thread is in your previous post you said that you werent saying the roster was perfect while you simultaneously said that me calling that silly was disrespecting your opinion LOL

You have a long history of lecturing us all on how we need to love every current player and coach. From Leno and Fields to Eberflus and last years offensive line, you call anyone who says they arent good enough a hater or a pessimist. It's like we are insulting your family or something.

And as you stack up the losses, the times it turns out you were totally wrong over and over, you just keep going.

I said wed have 4 new starters on the OL this year, and you were all over me about that. You got all butthurt that I said Kmet is on the bubble.

If all you want is sunshine and rainbows, there are plenty of boards for that. The thing I really like about this board is that pretty much everyone is smart, and knows the rhythm of the NFL year, and what makes good football.

I've learned lots from a bunch of members here, recently and over the years.

And you are the one who omits qualifiers like "I think" and "probably" more than anyone. And Ive called you out on it, so you come back trying to find instances where I might have missed one. Youre a "right fighter" but your arguments are usually wrong. So that makes you annoying.

Anyway, it doesnt matter. You'll just have to deal with reality as it comes like the rest of us.

This is my opinion, so you can stop confusing my comments by injecting what you say I do.

I THINK WE HAVE ADDED GREAT COACHING, BUILT UP THE ROSTER AND HAVE A QB THAT TAKES OFF THIS YEAR UNDER BJs PLAY CALLING. I HAVE NEVER SAID SB, OR PERFECT ROSTER, ALL THE CRAP YOU SAY I DO.

I AM OPTIMISTIC THAT WE COULD HAVE A WINNING SEASON. (10 TO 12), I THINK WE HAVE ENOUGH TALENT AT RB, LT, AND DE TO GET US THRU THE SEASON. NOT CLAIMING DAYO OR BOOKER BECOMES  15 SACK GUYs. OZZY OR KIRAN IS PRO BOWL MATERIAL I DONT THINK WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL PROS AT EVERY POSITION TO BE GOOD THIS YEAR.

Miss having #54, one of my all-time favorites.  Wish they brought home a trophy, but they started getting cute in the draft.  My opinion on that was Lovie took control, which he might not have, and the team got old.

I agree, when Lovie was to involved in roster building, it seemed to start falling off. Of course 10-6 was his falling off. He only had 3 losing seasons.

The closer we get to TC, the more it looks like Braxtons chances get smaller.

This was why a few of us were hammering for a high pick LT.  He is coming off a bad leg injury, his contract is up after the season, and he was susceptible to stopping a bull rush which disrupted the QB. I was happy Poles said early in the offseason there would be competition brought in.

If he doesnt start playing in TC, the competition will move in front of him.

Has anyone heard if Braxton has been able to strength train his legs?

found this but no details. If he's not ready to go as training camp starts, he wont be starting LT at the begining of the season.

Braxton Jones, the Chicago Bears' starting left tackle, is expected to be limited in training camp due to an ankle injury that required surgery after the 2024 season. While he's making progress in his recovery, he's unlikely to be at 100% when training camp begins, according to ProFootballRumors.com. The injury, a fractured ankle, occurred in a late-season game against the Detroit Lions.

Details of the Injury and Recovery:
  • Injury:
Braxton Jones sustained a fractured ankle in a Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions, requiring surgery.

  • Recovery:
The surgery occurred in December 2024, and while Jones is reportedly on track with his recovery, he's not expected to be fully recovered by the start of training camp, according to ESPN.

  • Training Camp Impact:
The Bears' coaching staff anticipates Jones will be limited at the start of training camp, which could create an opportunity for other players to compete for the starting left tackle position.

right. he was already susceptible to bull rushes, and without an offseason to train, hes not gonna come back stronger than he was last year before the injury.

You kinda have to proceed on the idea that his time as a starter is over for us.

Best case scenario is we trade him for a 4th or more. He has to perform well to get a 3rd comp pick if we keep him all year. I think Poles bet against that being over the cap now for 2026

if we could get a 4th for him that would be amazing, especially considering he was drafted in the 5th :)

I also believe in Tremaine Edmund's athleticism, but he would save $15M on the cap if you cut or trade him next year. And Kmet is another $10M so you get $25M right there if you need it.
