July 1, 2025Jul 1 comment_224656 GMs, I have renewed our annual TalkBears Fantasy Football Keeper league, which is now entering its 16th season. We need at least one new GM for this upcoming season. There may be more openings if we don't get commitments in time for the draft. Once we get the confirmations, we can schedule the draft for late August and I can send out the LeagueSafe payment dues ($75 per team). The winning payouts are as follows: 1st - $440 2nd - $200 3rd - $75 4th - $35 The payment deadline is usually Week 4, so people have some time to pay the dues. However, if payment is not received by then, that GM will be removed and the best recommended roster will be played for that team the rest of the season. If you have any questions, let me know, we normally conduct the draft a few days prior to the kickoff game around 7pm Central. I will send out a weekly reminder until the last week of July or until we have 10 commitments. Report

July 2, 2025Jul 2 comment_224690 I have had all my joints get implants. I am now relplacing the left hip I had done in 2009. You dont die from a new hip but it always goes back to ( am I as healthy as I think I am) Its getting knocked out , where surgeries usually go wrong. I look at myself like I do the future of the Bears, all is going to go well. Thanks for anyone wishing me luck. Report

I get out tomorrow, the surgery went well, but because it was because of an infection, it takes 6 weeks to retest for infection,so I could possibly have to get it redone it two months. I'm optimistic it works. I'll check with my two friends to see if they are still in play. Report

When the league renews, it auto-renews all the teams with an active GM. So we are still down one team. Report

August 14, 2025Aug 14 Author comment_225621 We are danger close to the start of the season and still in need of 1x new GM. If we don't get one, the only option is to reduce the number of teams. That would slightly alter the payouts and playoff structure. Once we have that locked in, we can set a date/time for the draft a few days prior to the kickoff game. Report

Sunday the 31st works good for me since I would not have to worry about missing it because work goes late. So unless there are any objections, I will set the 31st at 7pm Central for our draft on Wednesday (20th). If you have a conflict, and need a different date/time, please let me know before Wed. Report
